The paper presents a new interactive local color transformation method base on GrowCut image segmentation algorithm. The method improves Maslennikova et al’s CIM based color transformation algorithm by using Coupled Map Lattices (CML). An intuitive and easy user interface is also supported. Multi-touch interfaces are becoming popular as a new input means for the various applications. In this paper, we suggest a new Korean text entry method using a multi-touch interface called MPT (Multi-Point Touch) input method. We conducted a text entry performance test comprising 4 sessions for 10 participants, and compared the result with an existing commercial SPT (Single-Point Touch) input method. The experimental results show that the entry speed of MPT was slower than that of SPT method in the initial session. However, the entry speed of MPT input method was improved more rapidly than the speed of SPT method as sessions were proceeded. We observed a statistically significant learning effect from the result of MPT method. Moreover, we found no significant difference between the task loads of SPT and MPT input methods.

We discuss the framework of Transductive Support Vector Machine (TSVM) from the perspective of the regularization strength induced by the unlab.led data. In this framework, SVM and TSVM can be regarded as a learning machine without regularization and one with full regular-ization from the unlab.led data, respectively. Therefore, to supplement this framework of the regularization strength, it is necessary to introduce data-dependant partial regularization. To this end, we reformulate TSVM into a form with controllab.e regularization strength, which includes SVM and TSVM as special cases. Furthermore, we introduce a method of adaptive regularization that is data dependant and is based on the smoothness assumption. Experiments on a set of benchmark data sets indicate the promising results of the proposed work compared with state-of-the-art TSVM algorithms.

Nowadays human beings need to perform dangerous tasks involving the possibility of physical injury. This creates a demand of novel collab.rative technologies between human and machines. In this paper we present a collab.rative scheme aimed to support a mobile face recognition system for surveillance applications. Such face recognition system is based on facial feature lines and the Abonyi's and Szeifert's fuzzy classification scheme. A mobile platform which uses the latest technologies in mobile robotics is introduced. The implementation shows facial recognition rates up to 95% with the ORL facial database, and successful assessment for remote scene monitoring.
