With the further integration of information technology and industry, the computer numerical control (CNC) production line has gradually changed from the original isolated and closed mode to an open one. It faces not only internal threats, but also threats from the Internet. Starting from the characteristics and cybersecurity problem analysis of open CNC production lines, this paper proposes a security and trust protection framework based on trusted computing 3.0 and the concept of defense in depth, where a tri-element peer architecture is introduced to realize two-way authentication between the access device and the platform and an active immunity scheme for open CNC system is designed to ensure the trust from the source, and the trusted NC-Link agent/adaper are utilized to connect the heterogeneous equipments trustedly in the production line. The proposed framework can improve the information security level of the open CNC production line while maintaining its openness. © 2022 IEEE.

A new Fuzzy ART neural network model based on dual competition and resonance technique is proposed. This new model takes the competition and resonance method of the input nodes into the output nodes, putting the input nodes and output nodes competition and resonance together, solves the over-segmentation of the FART algorithm due to the vigilance's increase in the application of the image segmentation. Experimental results have shown that compared with the original FART, this algorithm has a better segmentation and antinoise performance. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2006.

Based on Particle Filter, Gravity Gradient-Terrain aided position technology is proposed in this paper. With the sensitivity of gravity gradient to terrain, the gravity gradient reference map can be computed from the local terrain elevation data. The position can be actualized through matching the real-time measured gravity gradient data to the prepared gravity gradient reference map. The most widely used approximate filtering method is the extended Kaman filter (EKF). EKF is computationally simple but, the convergence of the state estimation for the position is not guaranteed. Particle filter (PF) makes use of the non-linear state and measurement functions, no linearization technology is needed. PF can assure the convergence of the state estimation which follows from the classical results on convergence of Bayesian estimators. Simulations have been done and Particle filter has been shown to be a superior alternative to the EKF in the gravity gradient-terrain matching navigation systems. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

The manufacturing sector is envisioned to be heavily influenced by artificial-intelligence-based technologies with the extraordinary increases in computational power and data volumes. A central challenge in the manufacturing sector lies in the requirement of a general framework to ensure satisfied diagnosis and monitoring performances in different manufacturing applications. Here, we propose a general data-driven,end-to-end framework for the monitoring of manufacturing systems. This framework, derived from deep-learning techniques, evaluates fused sensory measurements to detect and even predict faults and wearing conditions. This work exploits the predictive power of deep learning to automatically extract hidden degradation features from noisy, time-course data. We have experimented the proposed framework on 10 representative data sets drawn from a wide variety of manufacturing applications. Results reveal that the framework performs well in examined benchmark applications and can be applied in diverse contexts,indicating its potential use as a critical cornerstone in smart manufacturing.

This paper proposes a distributed controller to equally surround a static target with multiple unmanned surface vessels(USVs).By utilizing the mutually repulsive method,the proposed controller addresses the equally surrounding problem,taking into account the influence of time-varying topologies,and the total number USVs which is a 'global information is not used in the *** asymptotic convergence of the closed-loop multi-USV system is guaranteed with rigorous ***,the effectiveness of the controller is verified by numerical simulations.

In the last decades,as a typical nonlinear system,active magnetic bearings(AMB) system has been widely applied in manufacturing systems.A sliding mode control(SMC) scheme for the AMB system is proposed with the disturbance observation of the linear extended state observer(LESO) in this *** chattering of the AMB system has been reduced by LESO-SMC by at least 60%.Sufficient BIBO(bounded input-bounded output) stability conditions of the closed-loop AMB system governed by the proposed LESO-SMC are derived by Lyapunov ***,experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed LESO-SMC than conventional SMC.

In this paper, we want to strengthen an autonomous vehicle’s lane-change ability with limited lane changes performed by the autonomous system. In other words, our task is bootstrapping the predictability of lane-change feasibility for the autonomous vehicle. Unfortunately, autonomous lane changes happen much less frequently in autonomous runs than in manual-driving runs. Augmented runs serve well in terms of data augmentation: the number of samples generated from augmented runs in a single one is comparable with that of samples retrieved from real runs in a month. In this paper, we formulate the Lane-Change Feasibility Prediction problem and also propose a data-driven learning approach to solve it. Experimental results are also presented to show the effectiveness of learned lane-change patterns for the decision making. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The demand for healthcare services for an increasing population of older adults is faced with the shortage of skilled caregivers and a constant increase in healthcare costs. In addition, the strong preference of the elderly to live independently has been driving much research on "ambient-assisted living" (AAL) systems to support aging-in-place. In this paper, we propose to employ a low-resolution image sensor network for behavior analysis of a home occupant. A network of 10 low-resolution cameras (30×30 pixels) is installed in a service flat of an elderly, based on which the user's mobility tracks are extracted using a maximum likelihood tracker. We propose a novel measure to find similar patterns of behavior between each pair of days from the user's detected positions, based on heatmaps and Earth mover's distance (EMD). Then, we use an exemplar-based approach to identify sleeping, eating, and sitting activities, and walking patterns of the elderly user for two weeks of real-life recordings. The proposed system achieves an overall accuracy of about 94%. Copyright 2014 ACM.

Efficient reconfigurable VLSI architecture for 1-D 5/3 and 9/7 wavelet transforms adopted in JPEG2000 proposal, based on lifting scheme is proposed. The embedded decimation technique based on fold and time multiplexing, as well as embedded boundary data extension technique, is adopted to optimize the design of the architecture. These reduce significantly the required numbers of the multipliers, adders and registers, as well as the amount of accessing external memory, and lead to decrease efficiently the hardware cost and power consumption of the design. The architecture is designed to generate an output per clock cycle, and the detailed component and the approximation of the input signal are availab.e alternately. Experimental simulation and comparison results are presented, which demonstrate that the proposed architecture has lower hardware complexity, thus it is adapted for embedded applications. The presented architecture is simple, regular and scalab.e, and well suited for VLSI implementation.

National-scale transportation systems are critical infrastructures to ensure the normal operation of the nation and offer essential services to modern societies. And they face a constant barrage of external stresses or threats that challenge their operation. This article analyzes the accessibility and vulnerability of the Chinese road, high-speed rail and airline systems. Firstly, it models the complementary relationship among road, high-speed rail and airline systems and takes them as an integrated transportation system (IRHAS). Then, the accessibility map from (to) the center of Beijing via IRHAS is displayed. Finally, modeling the extreme storm recently occurred in Zhengzhou as a reginal disruption, the vulnerability of the IRHAS is calculated. The findings in this paper provide guidance for city administrators to plan the road, high-speed rail, and airline systems as a whole. © 2022 IEEE.
