The position control for the experimental maneuverable remotely operated underwater vehicle is considered. The problem is to hold the position or to move a short distance without the attitude changing. So, velocity limitations and attitude control are not considered in the paper. Separate control loops for the body frame axes are designed, while the Eath frame position is transformed into the body frame coordinate system. For each axis, the translational dynamics linearized model is experimentally identified as a second-order transfer function. The PID controllers with setpoint weighting are designed via the pole placement optimization procedure using the identified models. Experimental tests of the obtained controllers showed acceptable performance.

Artificial intelligence-based medical systems can by now diagnose various disorders highly accurately. However, we should stress that despite encouraging and ever improving results, people still distrust such systems. We review relevant publications over the past five years, to identify the main causes of such mistrust and ways to overcome it. Our study showes that the main reasons to distrust these systems are opaque models, blackbox algorithms, and potentially unrepresentful training samples. We demonstrate that explainable artificial intelligence, aimed to create more user-friendly and understandable systems, has become a noticeable new topic in theoretical research and practical development. Another notable trend is to develop approaches to build hybrid systems, where artificial and human intelligence interact according to the teamwork model.

This paper proposes a computerized audio simulator to teach how to correctly pronounce sounds, syllab.es, and words of the Russian language; the simulator is based on automatic speech recognition systems. The sound and speech simulator is designed to help hearing-impaired people to learn how to correctly pronounce sounds. If we deploy such a service on the Internet and provide high-speed online access to the service, we significantly increase the number of people who can learn how to pronounce sounds.

In this paper we classify and analyze dialogue scenarios in automated human-machine systems with speech recognition. We take into account how to identify and correct recognition errors. Also, we evaluate and compare the scenarios according to how long the dialogue lasts, provided that the dialogue completes successfully with at least some given probability. Based on the results of our work, we formulated recommendations for developers of speech dialogue systems to choose a dialogue scenario; the actual scenario depends on how reliable the used speech blocks are.
