Software vulnerability detection is a critical aspect of ensuring the security and reliability of software systems. However, traditional vulnerability detection approaches often have limitations due to the scarcity and need for more diversity in lab.led data. This research introduces a novel approach to overcome these challenges by utilizing user-defined identifiers in the source code to generate counterfactual training data. User-defined identffiers, such as variable and function names, contain essential information about the intentions and logic of the program. By perturbing these identifiers while maintaining the syntactic and semantic structure of the code, we create a diverse set of counterfactual examples that simulate potential vulnerabilities. When combined with existing lab.led data, these counterfactual examples enrich the training process for vulnerability detection models. To evaluate the effectiveness of our approach, we conduct experiments on various datasets, achieving state-of-the-art performance on the VulDeePecker and Draper datasets. Our approach also outperforms models that utilize the same pre-trained language model in terms of accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

Positive and Unlab.led (PU) learning is a learning method which can be applied to various field such as recommendation and big data analysis. A direct method to solve PU learning is transform it into a weighted classification problem. However, previously proposed methods assume a strict condition. In this paper, we first investigate if the condition can be satisfied in real world situations and then propose a normalized weighted method which can relax the difficultly of PU learning.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have enabled the unmanned management of water areas. Path loss (PL) serves as a critical factor that affects the UAV communication quality. In this work, a PL model for UAV channel in water scenarios is proposed, aiming to explore the multidimensional relationship between transceiver distance, carrier frequency, UAV height, and PL by constructing an Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Moreover, channel measurements are conducted in a river area, and the obtained data are analyzed using the proposed ANN model as well as the close-in (CI) model. The analysis results demonstrates that the PL increases initially and then declines as the UAV height increases. The proposed ANN model has higher prediction accuracy than the classic empirical model, and can achieve precise prediction of the PL in water scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.

Network programming is the act of writing computer codes for communications between programs or processes in different computers across networks. It is crucial for applications and services using networks, including e-commerce, gaming, and social media. However, university courses of educating it are very limited. As a result, it has become important to develop and offer IT tools to support self-studies of network programming by novices. In this paper, we present a study of two types of introductory exercise problems, namely, Grammar-concept Understanding Problem (GUP) and Comment Insertion Problem (CIP), for self-studies of five basic network protocols of TCP/IP, ARP, SMTP, POP3, and SSH with Python. A GUP instance requests to answer the keyword such as a library function in the given source code that corresponds to the grammar concept described in the question. A CIP instance requests to insert the comment at each blank of the code. String matching is adopted to mark any answer at the browser-based answer interface. Through solving them, it is expected to understand the meaning of important words and the code structure for network programming. As preliminary evaluations, we generated six GUP and CIP instances respectively, and assigned them to 10 students in Okayama University, Japan. The results confirmed that the proposal is proper for novices to learn network programming with Python. © 2023 ACM.

In this paper, a wide band circularly polarized Yagi-Uda antenna is proposed. The design consists of two orthogonal linear polarized Yagi antennas and two coupling rods The main advantage of this design is that it not only has a very high gain but also realize circular polarization, thus it could be an excellent candidate for satellite communication. Today, the world economy is in the stage of rapid development, followed by the rising quantity, the decreasing moisture content, and the increasing heat value of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). Since waste incineration has the advantages of excellent volume reduction effect, high resource utilization efficiency, and less secondary pollution to the environment, waste incineration disposal technology has received extensive attention worldwide. With the continuous increase of the urban population, the amount of sewage sludge is growing year by year. The process of the sludge incineration system is highly complicated, and the cost of construction and operation is high. The waste incinerator can process not only MSW but also sewage sludge. Therefore, the co-incineration of sewage sludge with MSW in the existing waste incinerator is a safe and effective way to dispose of sewage sludge. In this paper, the simulation results of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are analyzed for medium-scale and large-scale waste incinerators, characterized by high moisture content, high ash content, low heat value of sewage sludge, and incomplete combustion and high pollutant emissions in waste incinerators. With FLIC-Fluent coupled simulation method, the critical information such as temperature field, velocity field, concentration field of principal components, and the pollutant emissions can be predicted. Based on the CFD simulation results, the performance and structure of waste incinerators can be optimized, and the new products can be designed and developed. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. We present an efficient method to simulate the average K-factor in a reverberation chamber (RC). The proposed method is based on the duality between absorption and scattering of electromagnetic waves in an RC. By replacing the rotating stirrers with absorbers, the average K-factors can be estimated quickly. Compared with the direct simulation, the proposed method is very efficient and is 15 times faster. © 2022 IEEE.

Urban rail transit (URT) is vulnerable to natural disasters and social emergencies including fire, storm and epidemic (such as COVID-19), and real-time origin-destination (OD) flow prediction provides URT operators with important information to ensure the safety of URT system. However, hindered by the high dimensionality of OD flow and the lack of supportive information reflecting the real-time passenger flow changes, study in this area is at the beginning stage. A novel model consisting of two stages is proposed for OD flow prediction. The first stage predicts the inflows of all stations by Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) in real time, where the dimension is reduced compared with predicting OD flows directly. In the second stage, the notion of separation rate, namely, the proportion of inbound passengers bounding for another station, is estimated. Finally, The OD flow is predicted by multiplying the inflow and separation rate. Experiments based on Hangzhou Metro dataset show the proposed model outperforms the contrast model in weighted mean average error (WMAE) and weighted mean square error (WMSE). Results also suggest that the proposed prediction model performs better on weekdays than on weekends, and with greater accuracy on larger OD flows. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

Based on the idea of tightly coupled dipole array, a low profile, broadband circularly polarized array is designed in this paper. The circularly polarized phased array element consists of dual polarized dipoles with the same phase center and orthogonal arrangement, grounded coupling patches, resistive frequency selective surfaces (RFSS), and a 90° phase shifter network. In order to realize broadband scanning, the effect of RFSS on the input active voltage standing wave ratio and radiation axial ratio (AR) of the element is studied. The results show that the element can operate at 5-11.5GHz, within a ±45° angle scanning range, the AR of each scanning plane is less than 3dB, and the profile height is only 0.33 ? high. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Hydrogen generation through seawater electrolysis provides a promising,attractive pathway towards the utilization of sustainable ***,the catalytic activity and stability of oxygen evolution anode are severely limited by the chloride-induced corrosion and competitive oxidation *** this work,we demonstrate an anion-assisted performance improvement strategy by quick and universal screening of electrolyte additive via correlating Cl-repellency with the anionic ***,the addition of phosphate ions is found to enable highly stable alkaline seawater splitting at industry-level current density(0.5 A cm^(-2))over 500 h using transition metal hydroxides as anodic *** situ experiments and theoretical simulations further reveal that the dynamic anti-corrosion behaviors of surface-adsorbed phosphate ions are attributed to three factors including repelling Cl-ions without significantly blocking OH-diffusion,preventing transition metal dissolution and acting as a local pH buffer to compensate the fast OH-consumption under high current electrolysis.
