It's always difficult to satisfy both strict requirements of dynamic performance and settling performance of high-precision and high-acceleration point-to-point motions on electronic packaging equipment, i.e., Die bonders, Wire bonders, Flip-chip bonders, Wafer bumping machines, and so on. Focusing on this difficulty, Fuzzy logic is promoted in this paper to fine tune feed forward coefficient parameters of motion systems on packaging equipment to satisfy multiple targets of dynamic and settling performance requirements. This intelligent fine tuning approach, with achievable multiple motion targets, provides a therapy to automate and optimize motion system performance on packaging equipment, help on development and mass production of semiconductor packaging equipment, and improve machine intelligence.

In recent years, methods from network science are gaining rapidly interest in economics and finance. A reason for this is that in a globalized world the interconnectedness among economic and financial entities are crucial to understand and networks provide a natural framework for representing and studying such systems. In this paper, we are surveying the use of networks and network-based methods for studying economy related questions. We start with a brief overview of graph theory and basic definitions. Then we discuss descriptive network measures and network complexity measures for quantifying structural properties of economic networks. In this paper, the quantized feedback control problem is investigated for a class of network-based 2-D systems described by Roesser model with data missing. It is assume that the states of the controlled system are availab.e and there are quantized by logarithmic quantizer before being communicated. Moreover, the data missing phenomena is modeled by a Bernoulli distributed stochastic variable taking values of 1 and 0. A sufficient condition is derived in virtue of the method of sector-bounded uncertainties, which guarantees that the closed-loop system is stochastically stable. Based on the condition, quantized feedback controller can be designed by using linear matrix inequalities technique. The simulation example is given to illustrate the proposed method.

An effective approach to solving problems involving mixed (continuous and discrete) variables and constraints, such as hybrid systems, is to decompose them into subproblems and integrate dedicated solvers geared toward those subproblems. Here, we introduce a new framework based on a tree search algorithm to solve hybrid discrete-continuous problems that incorporates: (1) a quantum annealer that samples from the configuration space for the discrete portion and provides information about the quality of the samples, and (2) a classical computer that makes use of information from the quantum annealer to prune and focus the search as well as check a continuous constraint. We consider four variants of our algorithm, each with progressively more guidance from the results provided by the quantum annealer. We empirically test our algorithm and compare the variants on a simplified Mars Lander task scheduling problem. Variants with more guidance from the quantum annealer have better performance. The difference of protein sequence or protein structure can be used for the construction of molecular evolutionary tree or phytogenetic tree with certain hierarchy and topology. The divergent points in the tree suggest that new genes appeared or common ancestors varied. The lengths of the branch in the tree show the evolution distances between proteins when divergences happened. The analysis of protein evolution can propose some methods for molecular evolution of various species and can confirm the accurate status in the evolution history. Moreover, the molecular evolution tree of proteins is a strong evidence for species classification. In the paper, the trees are constructed by the regular express of protein sequences and the expectation maximization (EM) algorithm. The proposed method in the paper can be used conveniently and can give reliable results, which benefit the biology computing and sequence analysis. Copyright © 2016 American Scientific Publishers. The paper is aimed to the control of uncertain linear plants in conditions of quantized output. control law synthesis was based on consecutive compensator method. Obtained algorithm provides tracking error of quantized output for the reference signal with fixed accuracy. Accuracy range depends on the quantization step and parametric uncertainties bounds. In the paper simulation results confirming performance of proposed method are given. © 2015

The goal of the present paper is to apply control techniques to determine the Blake cavitation threshold for adiabatic bubbles. Considering state space representation of Rayleigh-Plesset (RP) equation, a stability condition is derived to predict the threshold for cavitation which was determined beforehand by mechanical bias. Moreover, sliding mode control has been utilized to regulate the radius of a single spherical bubble to the desired value to prevent collapse occurrence which has a great importance in some industrial applications. Simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The massive penetration of renewable energy sources in the utility grid has emerged as the solution to obtain clean energy in modern electric systems, which are gradually replacing their generators that produce CO 2 emissions to achieve a sustainable growing. Power electronics is quite relevant in the deep penetration of renewable energy, because the use of such equipment is mandatory to integrate these new resources with the existing facilities. In order to reach higher power ranges, multilevel topologies are the state-of-the-art solution, due to the limited rating of the actual semiconductor devices. Furthermore, latest trends show that asymmetric multilevel configurations are an attractive technology to connect directly the power converters to the grid. This paper analyze the photovoltaic energy injection to microgrids using a hybrid approach that mixes the existing topologies: string, multistring and central inverter to implement an asymmetric structure that generate highly sinusoidal resulting waveforms. This document includes a simple analysis of the proposed configuration and highlights the advantages of using an asymmetric converter, supported with stationary and dynamic simulated results.

The single biometric system may be inadequate for passive authentication either because of noise in data samples or because of unavailab.lity of a sample at a given time. In order to overcome the limitation of the single biometric, a multiple biometric modalities are used. In this paper, palmprint and iris are integrated in order to construct an efficient multibiometric recognition system based on matching score level fusion and by using the technique of sum of score. This system tries to improve the recognition results of single biometric systems. The features of Iris and palmprint are extracted using Log Gabor filter. The Hamming Distance is used for matching of Iris or palmprint feature vector. We have evaluated the proposed scheme and we have compared it with the results of the single biometric using the same data. The experimental results showed that the designed system achieves an excellent recognition rate and provides more security than single biometric system.
