We propose a method to detect events and event boundaries in soccer videos by using web-casting texts and audio-visual features. The events and their inaccurate time information given in web-casting texts need to be aligned with the visual content of the video. We overcome this issue by utilizing textual, visual and audio features. Existing methods assume that the time at which the event occurs is given precisely (in seconds). However, most web-casting texts presented by popular organizations such as *** (the official site of Union of European Football Associations) provide the time information in minutes rather than seconds. We propose a robust method which is able to handle uncertainties in the time points of the events. As a result of our experiments, we claim that our method detects event boundaries satisfactorily for uncertain web-casting texts, and that the use of audio-visual features improves the performance of event boundary detection.

This paper proposes a simple harmonic feedback strategy for reduction of output voltage harmonics and the removal of any voltage unbalance due to unbalanced linear and non-linear loads in three-phase inverters. The fundamental components of the voltage and current are controlled in dq frame. Two-phase observers have been used for estimating the fundamental αβ components of the inverter voltage and the load current, which in turn helps to segregate the harmonics from the signal. The observer based control strategy, reduction of harmonic distortion and load voltage balancing by the simple harmonic feedback approach has been verified by simulation and experiments.

Data-based control technique becomes a research hot point because of the controller design need the system I/O data only. A class of data-based controller design and its parameters tuning method (IFT-MFAC) was proposed for a class of discrete-time nonlinear system in this paper. Three controller structures are deduced according to non-parameters time-varying dynamic linearization theorem, then the controller parameters are tuning by IFT technique. The rationality of the 3 structures of the controller is assured by the theorem, whereas, the controller structure is designed blindly by IFT. Obviously, the new method settles down this problem more properly. Finally, the three data-based methods IFT-MFAC, MFAC and IFT were compared through 3 examples. And the simulation results show the validity of the IFT-MFAC.

This paper studied the calibration method for a type of embedded smart sensors which are integrated with inertial, magnetic and vision sensors. A set of calibration and modeling methods which are suitable for the low cost applications have been proposed. For the deterministic items and nondeterministic items, we used the method of modulus matching of the input vectors and the method of time series analysis to calibrate and modeling them respectively;for the relative rotation between the accelerometers' frame and the camera frame, we proposed a calibrating method which is based on the gravity vector and plumb line. The experimental and simulation results demonstrated the practicability and effectiveness of these methods.
