Transmission control Protocol (TCP) uses multiple timers to do its work. The most important of these is the retransmission timer. In this paper, the TCP retransmission timer adjustment mechanism is approached from a system point of view and a new mechanism is proposed. A simple recursive system identification algorithm is used to capture both time variant and time invariant Internet behavior. Also a dynamic model-based Round-Trip Time (RTT) predictor was provided. Based on network simulation and real Internet data collection, it was observed that when the retransmission timer is adjusted by the proposed predictor instead of the traditional RTT estimator, performance increased significantly.

There is often over-vibration during high speed dehydrating in industrial washer, because the velocity curve is not suitable for evenly distributing of washing in the roller. The process of evenly distributing was analyzed. A model of evenly distributing velocity curve based on BP neural network was founded with the character of nonlinear mapping and generalization of neural network. We re-examine the design of structurally regular linear-phase (LP) paraunitary filter banks (PUFBs) via a general framework without the LP constraint, and show that by a suitable choice of parameterization, the general regularity theory simplifies significantly under the LP assumption. A new geometric condition for regularity is presented which is essentially equivalent to but simpler than that in [1]. We extend the method of lifting from M-channel paraunitary filter banks (PUFB) to M -channel unimodular filter banks. In particular, the lifting factorizations of Type-I and Type-II building blocks for the first-order unimodular matrices are presented, where the McMillan minimality is preserved. The proposed factorizations continue to have unity diagonal scaling, and perfect reconstruction (PR) is thus guaranteed under finite precision. Using degree-one unimodular building blocks, we present the design of first-order unimodular transforms (a.k.a. lapped unimodular transform, or LUT) and their lifting factorizations. Muitiplierless (while reversible) implementations of the resulting LUT are obtained by dyadic approximation of the lifting coefficients.

The possibility of operating in remote environments by means of teleoperated systems has always been considered of relevant interest in robotics. For this reason, in this paper, the relationship between a slave robot and the uncertain remote environment is proposed as the impedance to generate the virtual force to feed back to the operator. For the control of a teleoperated mobile robot equipped with camera, the teleoperated mobile robot take pictures of remote environment and sends the visual information back to the operator over the Internet. Because of the limitation of communication bandwidth and narrow view-angles of camera, it is not possible to watch the environment clearly, especially shadow and curved areas. To overcome this problem, the virtual force is generated according to both the distance between the obstacle and robot and the approaching velocity of the obstacle. This virtual force is transferred back to the master over the Internet and the master, which can generate force, enables a human operator to estimate the position of obstacle in the remote environment. By holding this master, in spite of limited visual information, the operator can feel the spatial sense against the remote environment. This force reflection improves the performance of a teleoperated mobile robot significantly.

In order to solve the Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC) problem, a new IIR-based fuzzy system is proposed in this paper. By virtue of its short-term memory embedded in the input layer and the IIR-based long-term memory in the consequent part, the proposed approach can handle nonlinear and dynamic ANC problems very well. It has the non-recurrent structure so that there is no feedback from the output layer to the input layer. Therefore, global stability analysis for the system is evitable. Moreover, the size of the networks is parsimonious because no extra input variables are introduced as the other recurrent networks did. Another significance of the proposed fuzzy system is that the system dynamics are implemented by the individual linear and transversal IIR filters in the consequent part of the fuzzy system. This makes mathematical analysis and practical applications feasible.
