This study aims to develop an online Greek language learning platform via a learning management system based on the WordPress platform for primary school pupils with Russian as a mother tongue. The subject was chosen with a view to aid both the communication needs of Russian native speakers in Greece, as well as their smooth integration into society. For the purpose of the current study, we investigated how Greek language is learnt in Russia, how widespread and popular it is, whether it is supported by the Russian educational system, as well as whether Greek language distance learning could be achieved. Moreover, LMS(Learning management system) environments were investigated as well, aiming at selecting the most student/teacher-friendly one. Taking into account that the platform is addressed to children, a presentable and properly developed material was designed, thus making the learning of each module more interesting and comprehensible throughout its short duration. With"GrfKids" platform speakers of other languages have the opportunity to learn Greek in an interactive asynchronous teaching environment with an automatic assessment. Moreover,"GrfKids" can be easily and immediately expanded both to pupils‘linguistic, as well as age range."GrfKids" provides Greek language courses to children with Russian as a mother tongue with interactive modules in which the learners can adapt the learning time by themselves. It is easy to use, functional and easily adapted to the ages it is addressed to. It was developed to create a teaching system by applying different plugins to the selected CMS(Content Management system), aiming to achieve a curriculum in which the pupil is in direct interaction with the educational material. It can be used individually, or as a support tool in a real class context. The rapid evolution of technology is a preferred method of interacting. A new world was created for young people who are sending emails, visiting websites, using webcams and chat rooms, and instant messaging through social media. In the past years, people used face-to-face communication though, in recent years, people are using internet technology in order to communicate with each other. As a consequence the communication change, created a new type of bullying, cyberbullying, in which bullying is taking place by using internet technology. Cyberbullying is a phenomenon which is increasing day by day over the world. This was one of the reasons that prompted us to do this survey. E-Sem: Dynamic seminar management system for primary, secondary and tertiary education

This paper describes the dynamic seminar management system named "e-Sem", developed according to the open-source software philosophy. Due to its dynamic management functionality, it can equally adapt to any education environment (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary). The purpose of the proposed dynamic system is ease of use and handling, by any class of users, without the need of special guidance. Also, students are given the opportunity to: a) register as users;b) enroll in seminars in a simple way;c) receive e-learning material at any time of day any day of week, and d) be informed of new announcements concerning the seminar in which they are enrolled . In addition, the administrator and the tutors have a number of tools such as : management seminars and trainees in a friendly way, sending educational material as well as new announcements to the trainees;the possibility of electronic recording of presence or absence of the trainees in a seminar, and direct printing of a certificate of successful attendance of a seminar for each trainee. The application also offers features such as electronic organization, storage and presentation of educational material, overcoming the limiting factors of space and time of classical teaching, thus creating a dynamic environment. Slow-light devices are able to significantly enhance light-matter interaction due to the reduced group velocity of light, but a very low group velocity is usually achieved in a narrow bandwidth, accompanied by extreme sensitivity to imperfections that causes increased disorder-induced attenuation. Recent theories have suggested an ideal solution to this problem—unidirectional chiral photonic states, previously discovered in structures known as photonic topological insulators, not only resist backscattering from imperfections but can also be slowed down in the entire topological bandgap with multiple windings in the Brillouin zone. Here, we report on the experimental demonstration of broadband topological slow light in a photonic topological insulator. When coupled with periodic resonators that form flat bands, the chiral photonic states can wind many times around the Brillouin zone, achieving an ultra-low group velocity in the entire topological bandgap. This demonstration extends the scope of topological photonics into slow light engineering, and opens a unique avenue in the dispersion manipulation of chiral photonic states. © 2022, CC BY.

Quantum Hall systems host chiral edge states extending along the one-dimensional boundary of any two-dimensional sample. In solid state materials, the edge states serve as perfectly robust transport channels that produce a quantised Hall conductance;due to their chirality, and the topological protection by the Chern number of the bulk bandstructure, they cannot be spatially localized by defects or disorder. Here, we show experimentally that the chiral edge states of a lossy quantum Hall system can be localized. In a gyromagnetic photonic crystal exhibiting the quantum Hall topological phase, an appropriately structured loss configuration imparts the edge states’ complex energy spectrum with a feature known as point-gap winding. This intrinsically non-Hermitian topological invariant is distinct from the Chern number invariant of the bulk (which remains intact) and induces mode localization via the "non-Hermitian skin effect". The interplay of the two topological phenomena – the Chern number and point-gap winding – gives rise to a non-Hermitian generalisation of the paradigmatic Chern-type bulk-boundary correspondence principle. Compared to previous realisations of the non-Hermitian skin effect, the skin modes in this system have superior robustness against local defects and disorders. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. This paper provides an overview of the main research activities carried out by Spanish organizations in areas related to neuromorphic technologies, spanning physical, materials, circuitry, and architectural levels. It also discusses the potential of these technologies to create competitive advantages for the Spanish industry, and to foster new applications and business opportunities via deep-tech startups – especially related to novel neuromorphic sensing modalities (e.g., Dynamic Vision Sensors).
