The Structured Dialogue System, referred to as SuDoSys, is an innovative Large Language Model (LLM)-based chatbot designed to provide psychological counseling. SuDoSys leverages the World Health Organization (WHO)’s Problem Management Plus (PM+) guidelines to deliver stage-aware multi-turn dialogues. Existing methods for employing an LLM in multi-turn psychological counseling typically involve direct fine-tuning using generated dialogues, often neglecting the dynamic stage shifts of counseling sessions. Unlike previous approaches, SuDoSys considers the different stages of counseling and stores essential information throughout the counseling process, ensuring coherent and directed conversations. The system employs an LLM, a stage-aware instruction generator, a response unpacker, a topic database, and a stage controller to maintain dialogue flow. In addition, we propose a novel technique that simulates counseling clients to interact with the evaluated system and evaluate its performance automatically. When assessed using both objective and subjective evaluations, SuDoSys demonstrates its effectiveness in generating logically coherent responses. A Multi-modal Intelligent Channel Model for 6G Multi-UAV-to-Multi-Vehicle Communications

In this paper, a novel multi-modal intelligent channel model for sixth-generation (6G) multiple-unmanned aerial vehicle (multi-UAV)-to-multi-vehicle communications is proposed. To thoroughly explore the mapping relationship between the physical environment and the electromagnetic space in the complex multi-UAV-to-multi-vehicle scenario, two new parameters, i.e., terrestrial traffic density (TTD) and aerial traffic density (ATD), are developed and a new sensing-communication intelligent integrated dataset is constructed in suburban scenario under different TTD and ATD conditions. With the aid of sensing data, i.e., light detection and ranging (LiDAR) point clouds, the parameters of static scatterers, terrestrial dynamic scatterers, and aerial dynamic scatterers in the electromagnetic space, e.g., number, distance, angle, and power, are quantified under different TTD and ATD conditions in the physical environment. In the proposed model, the channel non-stationarity and consistency on the time and space domains and the channel non-stationarity on the frequency domain are simultaneously mimicked. The channel statistical properties, such as time-space-frequency correlation function (TSF-CF), time stationary interval (TSI), and Doppler power spectral density (DPSD), are derived and simulated. Simulation results match ray-tracing (RT) results well, which verifies the accuracy of the proposed multi-UAV-to-multi-vehicle channel model. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

With the rapid progress of aerospace frontier engineering,the extreme space thermal environment has brought severe challenges to astronauts’space suits,putting forward higher requirements for thermal protection *** this basis,a unique core-shell structured hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)/silicon dioxide(SiO_(2))nanofiber membrane(HS)was prepared using the coaxial electrospinning method,of which both the thermal insulation SiO_(2)nanofiber cortex and the passive radiation cooling(PRC)h-BN nanofiber core make it a promising dual-effect thermal management ***,when the amount of h-BN is 0.9 g,the resultant HS(HS0.9)exhibits astonishing low thermal conductivity of 0.026 W m−1 K−1 and high reflectivity and emissivity of exceeding 90%over an extremely wide *** expected dual-effect thermal management performance enables the HS to have an ideal cooling effect under both high sunlight intensity and strong light *** addition,HS also shows excellent flame retardant performance arising from the excellent high-temperature stability of h-BN and SiO_(2).What is more,the tensile strength of HS0.9 was also significantly increased from 0.42 to 7.2 MPa by encapsulating polyimide through vacuum ***,the research results of this work provide innovative highlights for high-temperature protection in daily life and even extreme space environments.

Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) has become an ideal medium for long-term storage and retrieval due to its extremely high storage density and long-term stability. But access efficiency is an existing bottleneck in DNA storage, especially the lack of high-quality random access address sequences. Therefore, in this paper, we report a series of approaches based on k-weakly mutually uncorrelated (k-WMU) codes to design the address sequence to improve the access efficiency of DNA storage. To address the problem of DNA sequences that are poorly scalable at the base level, we propose a 0-m-ruling coding scheme combined with k-WMU codes that can make address sequences avoid generating secondary structure with stem lengths ranging from 3 to 9. Based on the decoupled structure, We further extend the k-WMU codes with error correction function while satisfying combinatorial biological constraints. In order to investigate the performance of the designed address sequences for real-world applications, we perform simulation experiments based on thermodynamic properties and error correction capability as well as compared the minimum free energy (MFE), melting temperature (TM), and average decoding success rate (ADSR) with previous work. The results show that designed address sequences have a high MFE value and ADSR and a substantial reduction in TM-variance while satisfying the combinatorial biological constraints. As the quality of address sequences improves, this will help to achieve accurate random access as well as enhance the robustness of the DNA storage system. © 2002-2011 IEEE.

3D object detection from a Bird's Eye View (BEV) has emerged as a novel perception paradigm for autonomous driving scenarios. While most current 3D object detection methods still rely on the conventional Cartesian coordinates, they fail to align with the non-aligned coordinate system inherent in image geometry. The Polar coordinates, on the other hand, better fit with the geometric shape corresponding to the perception of cameras. However, transforming between coordinate systems introduces distortions in the perception information, resulting in issues such as "Weak Adaptability to Heatmap Distribution"and "Offset in the Center Point of the Bounding Box."To address these challenges, this paper proposes a cutting-edge 3D object detection model named PolarBEVU, which leverages the bird's-eye view under the Polar coordinates along with multi-camera unprojection. The model introduces an innovative "Deformable Uniform Heatmap Distribution"method that adjusts heatmap computations based on box shapes, generating high-quality heatmaps and effectively resolving the issue of "Weak Adaptability to Heatmap Distribution."Moreover, the model incorporates the concept of "Dynamic High-risk Regression Region"to enhance the accuracy and robustness of the center point regression at the bounding box, thus mitigating the issue of "Offset in the Center Point of the Bounding Box."In extensive experiments on the nuScenes dataset, PolarBEVU achieves impressive results with 49.9% mAP and 57.4% NDS on the test set, surpassing other comparative approaches and reaching the state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance among methods utilizing Polar coordinates. This clearly demonstrates the efficacy and superiority of PolarBEVU. In addition, the model is successfully deployed on Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin, showcasing real-time inference speeds of 31.42ms. Entering the exascale era, graphical processing units (GPUs) have been developed by various vendors for large-scale HPC machines. Nine of the top 10 computers on the Top500 List have heterogeneous architectures containing GPUs as accelerators. To take advantage of these computational resources, it is essential to maintain a balance between performance and portability, i.e., making the codes functional, performant, and portable across GPU vendors. In this work, the efforts of restructuring and porting several key CPU kernels in the GAMESS quantum chemistry software package to AMD, Intel, and NVIDIA GPUs via an OpenMP API will be discussed. The use of the OpenMP directive model allows one to successfully run the same code across many GPUs of different vendors. However, since OpenMP is a high-level programming model, it relies on vendor implementations to handle the GPU code generation, and since implementations vary, there are large differences in performance even on the same hardware with different vendor compilers. Presented here are challenges faced during porting CPU code to GPU code with OpenMP, which other porting efforts may also face, such as memory limitations, major restructuring needed for code with branching, and differences in compiler optimizations and tuning. The strategies and approaches to address these challenges are discussed. In this work, the performance results across the supercomputing systems, Summit, Aurora, Frontier, and Perlmutter with a variety of vendor software stacks are presented.

Extreme rainfall events are becoming increasingly severe under a warming climate. North China has experienced several catastrophic rainfall events, of which the rainstorm in 2023 was particularly severe inducing unprecedented damage. Since 1980, the neighboring Mongolian Plateau (MP) has been warming at a rate three times the global average, faster than the surrounding regions. Whether a link exists between extreme rainfall in North China and the fast MP warming is unknown. Here, using global variable-resolution atmospheric model with convection-permitting capability over North China, we find the rapid warming trends, particularly over the MP, are highly conducive to extreme rainfall over North China. In the 2023 case, the fast MP warming induced an anomalous terrestrial high, which in the Western North Pacific Subtropical High created a strong high-pressure system over North China. This system obstructed northeastward movement of Typhoon Doksuri, concentrating moisture supply which prolonged and intensified the extreme. © 2025. The Author(s).

Regulatory compliance management (RCM) is a problem gaining wide interest in the business process management (BPM) community. However, research has not yet provided a non-ambiguous and agreedupon denition of RCM, and it is hard for newcomers to this eld of research to get a clear overview of available results. This paper surveys and analyzes solutions proposed in research on RCM from the perspective of BPM, and gives an insight into the current strengths and limitations of solutions to RCM applied to BPM. We extract a set of evaluation criteria on RCM elicited from the surveyed works and proceed to a comparative analysis of the latter against the identified requirements. © 2012, Australian Computer Society, Inc.
