This paper considers the quantized feedback control for Markov jump linear systems with incomplete transition probabilities where the effect of current mode observation logarithmic quantizer is counted for. A sufficient condition is proposed in the framework of linear matrix inequalities. Therefore, the coarsest quantization density can be obtained using an optimization problem with convex constraints. A numerical example illustrates the effectiveness of proposed scheme.

This paper studies a synthesis approach to predictive control for networked control systems with data loss and quantization. An augmented Markov jump linear model with polytopic uncertainties is modeled to describe the quantization errors and possible data loss. Based on this model, a predictive control synthesis approach is developed, which involves online optimization of a infinite horizon objective and conditions to deal with system constraints. The proposed MPC algorithm guarantees closed-loop mean-square stability and constraints satisfaction.

This paper is concerned with identification of nonlinear systems with a noisy scheduling variable, and the measurement of the system has an unknown time delay. Auto regressive exogenous (ARX) models are selected as the local models, and multiple local models are identified along the process operating points. The dynamics of a nonlinear system are represented by associating a normalized exponential function with each of the ARX models; therein, the normalized exponential function is acted as the probability density function. The parameters of the ARX models and the exponential functions as well as the unknown time delay are estimated simultaneously under the expectation maximization (EM) algorithm using the retarded input-output data. A CSTR example is given to verify the proposed identification approach.

The Giant Magneto Resistance (GMR) sensor is successfully used in eddy current testing because of its good low frequency detection characteristics and high sensitivity. In order to obtain more information about defects, this paper designed a GMR based eddy current system with Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) for defect detection. The system can get both the amplitude of the GMR sensor's output signal and the phase related to the exciting current at the same time. Through a series of detection experiments with defects of different widths of 6mm, 8mm and 10mm, it is found that both the amplitude and the phase can clearly reflect the magnetic field changes caused by various defects. By comparing the data curves, it is proved that the phase information matches better with the real size of the defects than the amplitude information. The conclusion is beneficial for further quantitative defect detection.

Turbine flowmeter is significant, but the change of viscosity has a remarkable impact on the accuracy of the turbine flowmeter. Aiming at this problem, the experiment was carried out on the viscosity variable oil flow facility. New software compensation method for viscosity was put forward with the developed intelligent turbine secondary instrument. Firstly the viscosity was compensated, viscosity was regarded as independent variable, average meter factor was regarded as dependent variable, the polynomial was fitted;then the flow rate was compensated, flow rate was regarded as independent variable, the average offset between meter factor got by viscosity compensation and experiment was regarded as dependent variable. The polynomial was fitted, the sum of results of two functions was regarded as the final meter factor. The test demonstrated: with the software compensation the accuracy of intelligent turbine flowmeter changed from 8.0% to better than 2.3%.

The problem of guaranteed cost control is investigated for a class of uncertain discrete-time switched linear systems subject to actuator saturation. The purpose is to design a state feedback control law such that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and the upper-bound of the cost function is minimized. Based on the switched Lyapunov function approach, some sufficient conditions for the existence of guaranteed cost controllers are obtained. Furthermore, a convex optimization problem with linear matrix inequalities (LMI) constraints is formulated to determine the minimum upper-bound of the cost function. Finally, a numerical example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design method.

Robust attitude decentralized tracking control problem for a 3-DOF helicopter is investigated. The model of the 3-DOF helicopter is described as a MIMO strict-feedback form system with unknown parameters, bounded disturbances, nonlinear uncertain coupling effects and unknown input-delay. A new design method based on signal compensation technique and back-stepping strategy is proposed. Based on the signal compensation method, at each backstepping design step, a robust controller consists of a nominal controller and a robust compensator. Robust practical tracking stability condition is derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
