As an important secondary energy, steam is widely used in engineering for its role of heat transfer and mechanical transmission. But steam is a complex medium, its state easily changes as the working condition changes, thus causes measurement error. Based on the present situation, a theoretical analysis has been made on vortex flow meter, which proved that the error was related to steam dryness. Numerical simulations were made to verity that measuring accuracy was related to the droplet diameter condensed out from the steam.

To study the flow stability of the flow calibration facility under different pressure stabilizing methods, analyze the influencing factors, and improve it. The paper develops a flow stability experimental platform. The flow range of it is 0.04~4 m 3 /h, the uncertainty of it is better than 0.05% (k=2). It proves that experimental platform works well and can reflect the difference of the flow stability under different pressure stabilizing methods according to the results of experiment on them.

Determining the boundary of inclusions within an opaque vessel sometimes is of more interest to academic research and industrial application than conductivity distribution when applying process tomography. This work focuses on reconstructing the boundary of completely conductive inclusions by Boundary Element Method with Electrical resistance tomography (ERT). The integral equations of forward problem are reformed since they are not identical as those for low conductivity. Inverse problem is solved with Levenberg-Marquardt (L-M) Algorithm. The results are verified with numerical simulations and errors have shown acceptable.

Online measurement of the particulate flow plays a significant role in the monitoring and controlling process of the industrial application. Due to the simple structure and non-intrusive character, the electrostatic sensor is widely used in industrial applications. The electrostatic signal from ring-shape electrostatic sensor was used in this paper to investigate the flow dynamics. Because of the advantages of Hilbert-Huang Transform, it was utilized to characterize the flow dynamics from the electrostatic signal of dilute gas-solid two-phase flow in the horizontal pipeline. A new method was introduced to eliminate the noise component of the electrostatic signal. The filtered electrostatic signal was then analyzed to find the relationship between the average fluctuation frequency and air flow rate. Besides, it can be concluded that the energy of the selected intrinsic mode functions can be a useful parameter to characterize the solid-phase concentration.

This paper introduces a method of fusing measurement data of a set of conductivity ring sensors to determine the average water holdup of oil-water two-phase flow within a horizontal pipeline. A six-ring conductivity sensor was built with 1kHz sampling rate, which delivers the generalized dimensionless conductivity and predicts the average water holdup based on Maxwell equation. An adaptive weighting algorithm is then brought forward to fuse the dimensionless conductivity and Maxwell equation to optimize the overall prediction upon average water holdup. The results suggest that the data fusion method reduces average relative error with 5.9%.

The sonic nozzle airflow standard facilities are applied widely throughout the world and can be divided into two categories, negative pressure and positive pressure methods. The latter is better than the former at calibrating flowmeters and analyzing the impact of pressure and density on performance of flowmeters. This paper discusses several key issues about establishing standard facilities by the positive pressure method. In order to ensure the stability of stagnation pressure and flow rate, it is vital important to choose rationally the parameters of stable pressure system which is jointly controlled by the air compressors, gasholders and self-operated pressure regulating valves. On the basis of the analysis of the heat transfer process, the water vapor in the compressed air is most likely to be saturated and cause dew to condense out of the compressor air. For this reason, the measures of filtration and drying should be included in the standard facilities. Critical flow function which changes with temperature and pressure must be calculated from ISO equation, instead of using a constant.

As to the rising bubble, reconstruction the shape of the bubble can make a strong foundation for further description. The bubble images were collected with two cameras; the images were preprocessed using digital images processing methods; parameters of the simulated ellipse were extracted with Hough transformation; and bubble simulated ellipsoid model were reconstructed based on these extracted parameters.
