Turbulence refers to the instability of air movements in which the speed has a whirling character at all points. This is a phenomenon often observed and generates sometimes violent movements that can disrupt flight in the case of aerodynamic interactions with aircraft. Bodily accidents due to turbulence are numerous, but they can be avoided with good control and prediction of the fluid behavior around this structure. In order to do this, designers are increasingly using numerical modeling to boost these aircraft's efficiency. We carried out a numerical analysis of the two-dimensional transonic flow on a NACA 0012 airfoil using the ANSYS/FLUENT software in order to compare the capacity of different turbulence models to predict results that are similar to those of experimental studies. The results were compared to the provided experimental data in the high Reynolds Number range of 9.10 6 . Then, a comparison based on the RANS, LES and Hybrid approach in order to obtain a better control of the profile performance. We demonstrated that Spalart-Allmaras model of Dettached Eddy Simulation gave good results for unsteady flow over the wing.

In the present work, we are interested to develop a meshless approach, based on the strong form MLS approximation with additional constraints, to solve the nonlinear elastic and elsto-plastic problems for regular and irregular distribution of points. We adopt a plastic behavior law based on the total deformation theory, which is very convenient when the physical nonlinearity is more important than the effect of irreversible process and the loading history. In plasticity, one encounters discontinuities of rigidity where the application of asymptotic developments seems difficult or impossible. To apply the Taylor series expansion, regularization methods have been adapted. The strong form MLS approximation allows us to avoid the inconvenient of the numerical integration, while the asymptotic developments help us to reduce the computation cost observed in the incremental law of plasticity and the iterative methods. For irregular points distribution, we can get an ill-posed least squares problems due to a singular moment matrix of MLS approximation. To avoid this difficulty, we propose a modified MLS approximation by introducing additional constraints which allows to increase the error functional used in the derivation of the shape functions. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this present work, we are implementing a novel hybrid method based on the coupling of RPIM in strong form and Finite Element Method (FEM). The basic idea is to ensure the coupling between the two methods through the collocation technique based on RPIM interpolation. This technique is used to evaluate the local equations of the problem at the interface between FEM and RPIM regions. We can avoid numerical integrations of a big part of nodes using the strong form of RPIM. Numerical studies show that this method gives reasonably accurate results consistent with the theory. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Condition-based and predictive maintenance enable early detections of critical system conditions and thereby enable decision makers to forestall the faults and mitigate them. However, the decision makers also need to take the operational and production needs into consideration to take an optimal decision when to perform the maintenance. Particularly in network systems, such as power grids, decision on the maintenance of single assets can affect the entire network and are, therefore, more complex. The paper proposes a two-level multi-agent system for the maintenance decision support (MDS) of power grids subject to an electrical market system. The MDS plays an important role in increasing the reliability of electrical market components. The aim of the MDS is to minimize the generation cost while maximizing the system reliability. The proposed framework integrates a central coordination system, the independent system operator (ISO) and distributed agents representing power generation units that act to maximize their profit and decide about the optimal maintenance time slots while ensuring the fulfilment of the energy demand. The objective function of agents (generation companies) is based on the reward and the penalty that they obtain from their power generation and their probability of failure, respectively. The optimal strategy of agents is then derived using a distributed algorithm, where agents choose their optimal maintenance decision and send their decisions to the independent system operator (ISO). Analysis of the shear stress at the interface between steel and cement grout

The selection of materials for bridge construction is crucially based on cost-effectiveness and efficient on-site assembly. The integration of prefabricated slabs in mixed bridges expedites construction but presents challenges with conventional connections, often prolonging site work. Addressing this challenge, a novel adhesive connection has emerged as a structural innovation, aiming to establish a robust bond between steel and prefabricated concrete slabs, there by optimizing construction timelines. This study scrutinizes the performance of the cement-steel interface under shear forces. Through numerical analysis, our research investigates the distribution of shear stress and normal stress within the compact element of the assessed interface. Methodologically, our analysis initially utilized Catia software for conception, followed by transforming the model into Ansys software for simulation purposes. This process elucidates the behavior and durability of the adhesive connection. Our research specifically focuses on two geometric configurations: AR1, where the grooves of the steel plats are oriented perpendicular to the applied loads, and AR2, where the grooves run parallel to the applied loads, shedding light on the distinctive advantages of this innovative connection approach.

Remarkable successes were made in Medical Image Classification (MIC) recently, mainly due to wide applications of convolutional neural networks (CNNs). However, adversarial examples (AEs) exhibited imperceptible similarity with raw data, raising serious concerns on network robustness. Although adversarial training (AT), in responding to malevolent AEs, was recognized as an effective approach to improve robustness, it was challenging to overcome generalization decline of networks caused by the AT. In this paper, in order to reserve high generalization while improving robustness, we proposed a dynamic perturbation-adaptive adversarial training (DPAAT) method, which placed AT in a dynamic learning environment to generate adaptive data-level perturbations and provided a dynamically updated criterion by loss information collections to handle the disadvantage of fixed perturbation sizes in conventional AT methods and the dependence on external transference. Comprehensive testing on dermatology HAM10000 dataset showed that the DPAAT not only achieved better robustness improvement and generalization preservation but also significantly enhanced mean average precision and interpretability on various CNNs, indicating its great potential as a generic adversarial training method on the MIC. Distributed collaborative scheduling of combined heat and power systems based on quantized privacy preserving consensus

The conventional centralized scheduling proves ineffective in addressing the suboptimal real-time performance caused by the large-scale integration of energy devices. This paper introduces a distributed optimization scheduling scheme for complex communication environments within a combined heat and power (CHP) system, incorporating consensus algorithm. Regarding the privacy that exists in the decision-making information exchange process, an effective mask function is introduced to prevent the sensitive information of the system from being leaked during the cooperative scheduling process of various types of equipment. Based on this privacy scheme, taking into account the limited communication resources and distributed communication lag in the communication environment, a distributed optimization scheduling scheme based on a quantified privacy consistency algorithm is proposed. This scheme enables the rapid attainment of optimal solutions for the collaborative scheduling of energy devices. Additionally, we conducted a rigorous theoretical analysis on the convergence of the designed algorithm to ensure its feasibility. It is worth pointing out that the privacy quantification scheme designed in this paper is also suitable for distributed optimization scheduling based on the weighted average consensus algorithm. Finally, by experimenting with the CHP system model, we have verified that the proposed algorithm can minimize operating costs while maintaining a balance of supply and demand, and it demonstrates good convergence performance. © 2024 Chinese Academy of Sciences. This paper investigates the cooperative output regulation (COR) of nonlinear multi-agent systems (MASs) with long input delay based on periodic event-triggered mechanism. Compared with other mechanisms, periodic event-triggered control can automatically guarantee a Zeno-free behavior and avoid the continuous monitoring of triggered conditions. First, a new periodic event-triggered distributed observer, which is based on the fully asynchronous communication data, is proposed to estimate the leader information. Second, a new distributed predictor feedback control method is proposed for the considered nonlinear MASs with input delay. By coordinate transformation, the MASs are mapped into new coupled ODE-PDE target systems with some disturbance-like terms. Then, we show that the COR problem is solvable. At last, to further save the communication resource, a periodic event-triggered mechanism is considered in the sensor-to-controller transmission in every agent. A new periodic event-triggered filter is proposed to deal with the periodic event-triggered feedback data. The MASs with input delay are mapped into coupled ODE-PDE target systems with sampled data information. Then, Lyapunov-Krasovskii functions are constructed to demonstrate the exponential stability of the MASs. Simulations verify the validity of the proposed results. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

Recently, the platform economy allows enterprises to collaborate with business partners and provide additional channels for various parties. E-commerce platforms have become integral channels for connecting suppliers with consumers. In the platform economy, agency selling and reselling are two predominant sales models that often coexist for the same product types, resulting in a competitive relationship. This study analyzes transaction data for 30,000 Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) provided by the Chinese e-commerce platforms over one month. We employ three models to compare the sales quantity and profits of manufacturers and online platforms and to identify the most efficient mode for stakeholders based on the model establishment and empirical evidence. Our findings suggest that apart from the existing channel to provide products to customers, manufacturers enter the platform which will increase the profit of platform operators. On the other hand, platform operators may also affect the profit of the manufacturers.
