A Note on Determine the Greatest Common Subfamily of Two NFSRs by Grbner Basis

For nonlinear feedback shift registers （NFSRs）, their greatest common subfamily may be not unique. Given two NFSRs, the authors only consider the case that their greatest common subfamily exists and is unique. If the greatest common subfamily is exactly the set of all sequences which can be generated by both of them, the authors can determine it by Grobner basis theory. Otherwise, the authors can determine it under some conditions and partly solve the problem.

OpenMP has become a successful programming model for developing multi-threaded applications. However, there are still some challenges in terms of OpenMP’s interoperability within itself and with other parallel programming APIs. In this paper, we explore typical use cases that expose OpenMP’s interoperability challenges and report our proposed solutions for addressing the resource oversubscription issue as the efforts by the OpenMP Interoperability language subcommittee. The solutions include OpenMP runtime routines for changing the wait policies, which include ACTIVE(SPIN BUSY or SPIN PAUSE), PASSIVE (SPIN YIELD or SUSPEND), of idling threads for improved resource management, and routines for supporting contributing OpenMP threads to other thread libraries or tasks. Our initial implementations are being done by extending two OpenMP runtime libraries, Intel OpenMP (IOMP) and GNU OpenMP (GOMP). The evaluation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach to address the CPU oversubscription challenge and detailed analysis provide heuristics for selecting an optimal wait policy according to the oversubscription ratios. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2016.

Microblog is a browser-based platform for web user's information sharing and communication. With the rapidly increasing of microblog population, its effective recommendation function becomes necessary. This paper proposes the recommendation by the Latent Dirichlet Allocation topic model, which combines the user interest to meet their needs. It also conducts a comparative analysis between indirect and direct recommendation algorithms. The experimental results show that the indirect recommendation is more effective for the micro-blog recommendation. © 2015 IEEE.

Reconstruction of phonated speech from whispers using formant-derived plausible pitch modulation

Whispering is a natural, unphonated, secondary aspect of speech communications for most people. However, it is the primary mechanism of communications for some speakers who have impaired voice production mechanisms, such as partial laryngectomees, as well as for those prescribed voice rest, which often follows surgery or damage to the larynx. Unlike most people, who choose when to whisper and when not to, these speakers may have little choice but to rely on whispers for much of their daily vocal interaction. Even though most speakers will whisper at times, and some speakers can only whisper, the majority of today's computational speech technology systems assume or require phonated speech. This article considers conversion of whispers into natural-sounding phonated speech as a noninvasive prosthetic aid for people with voice impairments who can only whisper. As a by-product, the technique is also useful for unimpaired speakers who choose to whisper. Speech reconstruction systems can be classified into those requiring training and those that do not. Among the latter, a recent parametric reconstruction framework is explored and then enhanced through a refined estimation of plausible pitch from weighted formant differences. The improved reconstruction framework, with proposed formant-derived artificial pitch modulation, is validated through subjective and objective comparison tests alongside state-of-the-art alternatives. © 2015 ACM.

Word sense disambiguation is a technology of judging the specific semantic of polysemous words in the specific context. It is meaningful for the applications of natural language processing. This paper introduces the attribute knowledge into word sense disambiguation *** sense of the polysemous words can be described by the different attribute sets. These attributes can be viewed as a kind of context features. The attribute knowledge bases are built for every polysemous word, and employed into the Naive Bayes classifier and Maximum Entropy classifier as a dimension feature to judge the specific semantic of polysemous words in the specific context. The experimental results show that this method can effectively improve the accuracy of Chinese word sense disambiguation.

Swetenham's article, Parallelizing Plan Recognition, exploits the opportunity provided by modern multicore computing devices to parallelize plan recognition algorithms to decrease run time. Mik Kersten and Gail C. Murphy show in their article, Reducing Friction for Knowledge Workers with Task Context, how this friction can be reduced, and productivity improved, by capturing and modeling the context of a knowledge worker's task based on how the knowledge worker interacts with an information space. Computational management of activities that reflect human intention through activity-based computing (ABC) is described by Jakob E. Bardram, Steven Jeuris, and Steven Houben in their article, Activity-Based computing: Computational Management of Activities Reflecting Human Intention. In their article, A General Context-Aware Framework for Improved Human System Interactions, Stacy Lovell Pfautz, Gabriel Ganberg, Adam Fouse, and Nathan Schurr describe a general framework for building context-aware interactive intelligent systems.

As a thriving travel business, disabled accessible tourism has been getting more and more attention from related stakeholders in the market since the introduction of its concept and its development in China. Tourism attraction and tourism enterprises are acknowledged as the stakeholders who the disabled tourism, if taken as a product, contacts with directly while being served and sold. Therefore, this paper constructs an evolutionary game model between tourism enterprises and tourism attraction and analyzes the evolutionary stable strategy and key influence factors of the two parties when developing the disabled travel business. The research results show that to develop the disabled tourism needs the cooperation of tourism attraction and enterprises. The enterprises should increase their communication with tourism attraction to decrease unnecessary lose and simultaneously optimize their service quality while managing to strengthen business integration. The tourism attraction should construct barrier-free facilities in accordance with government's policy, improve their profession of the disabled tourism, and intensify the propaganda of this business.
