In order to address the issues of real-time performance and the low dependency between feature channels in fabric defect detection networks, this paper proposes the ESE-YOLOv5 network based on YOLOv5. Firstly, to address the relative redundancy of the neck detection network feature channels, a relatively lightweight and efficient convolution module is adopted to ensure accuracy while reducing computation and parameter volume. Furthermore, the Efficient Squeeze-Excitation (ESE) module is introduced into the backbone to optimize the dependency of feature channels, which enhances the model's feature extraction capacity and improves detection accuracy. Experimental results show that compared to YOLOv5, the proposed ESE-YOLOv5 model reduces computation and parameter volume while improving accuracy, meeting the needs of fabric defect detection for recognizing fabric defects that have similar characteristics to the background while maintaining real-time performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Non-local operation is widely explored to model the long-range dependencies. However, the redundant computation in this operation leads to a prohibitive complexity. In this paper, we present a Representative Graph (RepGraph) layer to dynamically sample a few representative features, which dramatically reduces redundancy. Instead of propagating the messages from all positions, our RepGraph layer computes the response of one node merely with a few representative nodes. The locations of representative nodes come from a learned spatial offset matrix. The RepGraph layer is flexible to integrate into many visual architectures and combine with other operations. With the application of semantic segmentation, without any bells and whistles, our RepGraph network can compete or perform favourably against the state-of-the-art methods on three challenging benchmarks: ADE20K, Cityscapes, and PASCAL-Context datasets. In the task of object detection, our RepGraph layer can also improve the performance on the COCO dataset compared to the non-local operation. Reversible solid oxide cells (rSOC) can operate in both electrolysis mode and in fuel cell mode with high efficiency and reduced cost using the same device for both functions. When used in dynamic operation with intermittent electrical power sources, rSOC system switches from the fuel cell (SOFC) to electrolyzer (SOEC) and vice versa depending on load and grid peculiarities. This can lead to temperature profiles within the stack that can potentially lead to the failure of the stack and eventually the system. In the present work, a system-level dynamic model of rSOC is established and validated against experimental data. Subsequently, detailed dynamic thermal behavior of stack during the switching between the two modes is analyzed, and a temperature management controller based on Model Predict control method (MPC) is proposed. Gas flow and temperature at the stack inlet are controlled by air flow and bypass valves, avoiding problems associated with temperature overshoot during transient operation. The simulation results show that the temperature controller has the ability to follow fast thermal changes while maintaining thermal safety, which indicates the competitiveness of the controller. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

In this paper, a pixel-level image fusion algorithm based on Nonsubsampled Contourlet Transform (NSCT) has been proposed. Compared with Contourlet Transform, NSCT is redundant, shift-invariant and more suitable for image fusion. Each image from different sensors could be decomposed into a low frequency image and a series of high frequency images of different directions by multi-sacle NSCT. For low and high frequency images, they are fused based on local-contrast enhancement and definition respectively. Finally, fused image is reconstructed from low and high frequency fused images. Experiment demonstrates that NSCT could preserve edge significantly and the fusion rule based on region segmentation performances well in local-contrast enhancement.

This paper focuses on route planning, especially for unmanned aircrafts in marine environment. Firstly, new heuristic information is adopted such as threat-zone, turn maneuver and forbid-zone based on voyage heuristic information. Then, the cost function is normalized to obtain more flexible and reasonable routes. Finally, an improved sparse A* search algorithm is employed to enhance the planning efficiency and reduce the planning time. Experiment results showed that the improved algorithm for aircraft in maritime environment could find a combinational optimum route quickly, which detoured threat-zones, with fewer turn maneuver, totally avoiding forbid-zones, and shorter voyage. © 2010 IEEE.

Target detection and location in infrared clutter background is very important to infrared search and track system. Especially for small target detection in infrared image in background of sea and sky, there are no geometric and structure character to use. When targets such as ship and naval vessel sailing at long distance, they always appear around the sea-level line, and it is mixed with cloud and sea-wave clutter. It is difficult to segment and locate precisely. Background suppression based-on wavelet transformation is proposed in the paper. Wavelet decomposition makes it possible to analyze a signal both in time and frequency domains. In the paper infrared sea and key background images are processed. For their SNR is low and background is complex, using wavelet transformation decomposes an original image and extract approximate feature to reconstruct an image, which mainly includes background information. A new image will be obtained using background image subtracted from original image. There are mainly target and noise points left in the new image. By setting proper threshold, the target can be detected perfectly. At last, experiment results are given and show the method is practical. © 2005 IEEE.

This paper presented improved Sparse A-Star Search (SAS) algorithm to pursue a fast route planner for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) on-ship applications. Our approach can quickly produce 3-D trajectories composed by a set of successive navigation points from certain known initial locations to predetermined target locations. The result routes are not only ensuring collision avoidance with the environmental obstacles, but also satisfying specific routes constraints and objectives. The experiment results demonstrated the feasibility of the method, which makes our route planner be more useful in real systems. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

With the development of remote sensing technique, onboard data compression has become an urgent need and a lot of study has been directed toward the development of efficient techniques. In this paper, the construction approach of integer Haar is discussed briefly, and a'simple image compression scheme based on integer Haar Wavelet Transform and block DPCM is proposed. The scheme can be easily designed for data processing in real-time system of remote sensing with parellel algorithm. Simulation experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach is a efficient image compression method. © 2002 IEEE.

High performance word level sequential and parallel coding methods and architectures for bit plane coding

This paper introduced a novel high performance algorithm and VLSI architectures for achieving bit plane coding （BPC） in word level sequential and parallel mode. The proposed BPC algorithm adopts the techniques of coding pass prediction and parallel ＆ pipeline to reduce the number of accessing memory and to increase the ability of concurrently processing of the system, where all the coefficient bits of a code block could be coded by only one scan. A new parallel bit plane architecture （PA） was proposed to achieve word-level sequential coding. Moreover, an efficient high-speed architecture （HA） was presented to achieve multi-word parallel coding. Compared to the state of the art, the proposed PA could reduce the hardware cost more efficiently, though the throughput retains one coefficient coded per clock. While the proposed HA could perform coding for 4 coefficients belonging to a stripe column at one intra-clock cycle, so that coding for an NxN code-block could be completed in approximate N2/4 intra-clock cycles. Theoretical analysis and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed designs have high throughput rate with good performance in terms of speedup to cost, which can be good alternatives for low power applications.
