In this paper, we proposed a new Primitive-Structure- Based approach for extracting rectangle building from aerial urban images. We obtain all kinds of primitive-structure that compose rectangle by analysing geometrical primitive structure from the straight-line-graph that has been produced by edge- Detection and contour-tracking and straight-line-splitting, then merge these primitive structure to rectangle through the merging arithmetic. The experimental results show that the approach is times computationally faster than the previous methods. The results of performance assessment also support the robustness and precision of the approach developed. © 2002 IEEE.

3D multipath planning for UAV based on network graph

According to the characteristic and the requirement of multipath planning, a new multipath planning method is proposed based on network. This method includes two steps： the construction of network and multipath searching. The construction of network proceeds in three phases： the skeleton extraction of the configuration space, the judgment of the cross points in the skeleton and how to link the cross points to form a network. Multipath searching makes use of the network and iterative penalty method （IPM） to plan multi-paths, and adjusts the planar paths to satisfy the requirement of maneuverability of unmanned aerial vehicle （UAV）. In addition, a new height planning method is proposed to deal with the height planning of 3D route. The proposed algorithm can find multiple paths automatically according to distribution of terrain and threat areas with high efficiency. The height planning can make 3D route following the terrain. The simulation experiment illustrates the feasibility of the proposed method.

The complexity of coupled risks, which refer to the compounded effects of interacting uncertainties across multiple interdependent objectives, is inherent to cities functioning as dynamic, interdependent systems. A disruption in one domain ripples across various urban systems, often with unforeseen consequences. Central to this complexity are people, whose behaviors, needs, and vulnerabilities shape risk evolution and response effectiveness. Realizing cities as complex systems centered on human needs and behaviors is essential to understanding the complexities of coupled urban risks. This paper adopts a complex systems perspective to examine the intricacies of coupled urban risks, emphasizing the critical role of human decisions and behavior in shaping these dynamics. We focus on two key dimensions: cascading hazards in urban environments and cascading failures across interdependent exposed systems in cities. Existing risk assessment models often fail to capture the complexity of these processes, particularly when factoring in human decision-making. To tackle these challenges, we advocate for a standardized taxonomy of cascading hazards, urban components, and their interactions. At its core is a people-centric perspective, emphasizing the bidirectional interactions between people and the systems that serve them. Building on this foundation, we argue the need for an integrated, people-centric risk assessment framework that evaluates event impacts in relation to the hierarchical needs of people and incorporates their preparedness and response capacities. By leveraging real-time data, advanced simulations, and innovative validation methods, this framework aims to enhance the accuracy of coupled urban risk modeling. To effectively manage coupled urban risks, cities can draw from proven strategies in real complex systems. The operation condition of aluminum electrolytic cells is critical to the stability of the aluminum electrolysis process. Under the tough working environment, there will be many abnormal states in the cells, detrimental to aluminum quality, aluminum electrolysis efficiency and electrolytic cells life. Therefore, it's of great significance to develop an effective process monitoring and multi-fault diagnosis method. The diagnosis accuracy and the speed of traditional multi-classification methods are limited. To solve these problems, a fault detection and multi-fault diagnosis framework based on wavelet packet decomposition (WPD) and directed acyclic graph support vector machine (DAG-SVM) is proposed. First, features are extracted from aluminum electrolytic cell voltage signals. Then, DAG-SVM is used to detect and diagnose abnormal states. The result shows that the proposed method can detect and diagnose three abnormal states, anode effect state, voltage instability and liquid aluminum fluctuation with a high precision. The accuracy can reach about 86.8%. © 2019 IEEE.

Bearing remaining useful life(RUL) prediction is critical for safe operation of rotating *** this paper,we propose a combined RUL prediction approach that leverages both trajectory similarity and relevance vector machine(RVM).The similarity based prediction relies on historical degradation trajectories that are highly similar to the online data,hence would perform poorly if all historical trajectories have low similarity with the online *** RVM based prediction relies solely on a regression model learned from the available online data,thus gives an inaccurate prediction when insufficient data are available in the early stage of degradation.A weighted sum of these above two predictions is proposed to address the limitation of each single prediction method,whose weights are determined by solving a non-negative least squares fitting *** further improve RUL prediction accuracy,we distinguish between fast and slow degradation modes,so that each mode uses a different set of historical degradation trajectories and kernel *** doing so,we predict RUL under the identified *** case study using the PHM2012 dataset demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed RUL prediction approach.

There have been increasing interests in studying multiplex dynamical networks *** paper focuses on topology identiflcation of two-layer multiplex networks with peer-to-peer interlayer *** a two-layer network model in which different layers have different coupling patterns,we propose novel methods to recover unknown topological structure of one layer,using the information of the other layer known as a *** proposed methods make full use of the measured evolutional states of the multiplex network itself,and treat the layer with a known structure as an auxiliary layer which is designed to identify the unknown topological *** with the traditional synchronization-based identiflcation method,the proposed methods are in no need of constructing an additional auxiliary network to identify the unknown topological layer,and thus greatly reduce the cost of topology ***,numerical simulations validate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Radar scene matching technique has been widely found in many application fields such as remote sensing, navigation, terrain-map match, scenery variance analysis and so on. Radar image geometry is quite different from that of optical satellite imagery, whose imaging is a slanting imaging of electromagnetic microwave reflection. The different characters between radar image and optical satellite images are very distinct, such as the layover distortion of ground-truth and speckle noise, which degrades the image to such an extent that the features are very unclear and difficult to be extracted. So the factors such as the hypsography, ground truth, sensor altitude and imaging time should be taken into account for radar image and optical image matching. In this paper, we develop an image match algorithm based on reference map multi-area selection using fuzzy sets. image matching is generally a procedure that calculates the similarity measurement between sensed image and the corresponding intercepted image in reference map and it searches the maximum position in the correlation map. Our method adopts a converse matching strategy which selects multi-areas in optical reference map using fuzzy sets as model images, then match them on the sensed image respectively by normalized cross correlation matching algorithm and fuse the match results to get the optimum registered position. Multi-areas selection mainly considers two influence factors such as ground-truth texture features and the hypsography (DEM) of imaging region, which will suppress the influence of great variance imaging region. Experiment results show the method is effective in registering performance and reducing the calculation.

Research on a novel restoration algorithm of turbulence-degraded images with alternant iterations

A new restoration algorithm based on double loops and alternant iterations is proposed to restore the object image effectively from a few frames of turbulence-degraded images, Based on the double loops, the iterative relations for estimating the turbulent point spread function PSF and object image alternately are derived. The restoration experiments have been made on computers, showing that the proposed algorithm can obtain the optimal estimations of the object and the point spread function, with the feasibility and practicality of the proposed algorithm being convincing.

Dear Editor, This letter investigates the prescribed-time stabilization of linear singularly perturbed systems. Due to the numerical issues caused by the small perturbation parameter, the off-the-shelf control design techniques for the prescribed-time stabilization of regular linear systems are typically not suitable here. To solve the problem, the decoupling transformation techniques for time-varying singularly perturbed systems are combined with linear time-varying high gain feedback design techniques.
