This article elaborates the stability analysis of the grid-forming (GFM) voltage-source converters (VSCs) with the single-loop voltage-magnitude (SLVM) control and the virtual resistor. It is revealed that the virtual resistor can greatly change the stability region of the SLVM controlled VSCs, even it is mainly used to eliminate the synchronous resonance introduced by the power control. The mathematical model is then derived, from which the stability region can be analytically obtained. Simulations and experiments validate the theoretical analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

The power ripple generated by the rectifier tends to pull down the power-to-hydrogen efficiency of water electrolyzers, which is rarely considered in the current research. In this paper, the impact of power ripple on electrolyzer performance is quantified based on electrochemical principle. Furthermore, different types of rectifiers, including thyristorbased, diode-based and IGBT-based rectifiers are compared in terms of efficiency. These topologies are further tested in the green hydrogen production system to find out the optimal topology to maximize the economical profit of the system. © 2024 IEEE.

To generate arbitrary shape magnetic field waveforms for advanced scientific research,a reconfigurable pulsed high magnetic field facility(PHMFF)was developed at Wuhan National Pulsed High Magnetic Field Centre(WHMFC).First,the basic elements of PHMFF are introduced,and a ternary physical model composed of energy storage unit,magnet,transmission circuits and other auxiliary units is summarised to describe various magnetic field ***,in order to realise the reconfiguration of magnetic field systems based on detailed elements,the control system with the ability of dynamic construction and control sequence reconfiguration is *** this basis,the PHMFF has been realised and various magnetic field systems are constructed to produce arbitrary shape magnetic field waveforms,such as half‐sine,ultra‐high,flat‐top and repetitive field pulses,which not only enhances the capability and efficiency of PHMFF,but also makes more scientific research possible in pulsed magnetic *** far,a peak magnetic field of 94.8 T,a flat‐top magnetic field of 64 T/10 ms and a repetitive magnetic field waveform of 20 T/60 Hz have been achieved,and some experiments and studies on the physical properties of materials have been carried out at WHMFC.

Facile synthesis of the Mn_(3)O_(4)polyhedron grown on N-doped honeycomb carbon as high-performance negative material for lithium-ion batteries

Because of their large volume variation and inferior electrical conductivity,Mn_(3)O_(4)-based oxide anode materials have short cyclic lives and poor rate capability,which obstructs their *** this study,we successfully prepared a Mn_(3)O_(4)/N-doped honeycomb carbon composite using a smart and facile synthetic *** Mn_(3)O_(4)nanopolyhedra are grown on N-doped honeycomb carbon,which evidently mitigates the volume change in the charging and discharging processes but also improves the electrochemical reaction *** importantly,the Mn-O-C bond in the Mn_(3)O_(4)/N-doped honeycomb carbon composite benefits electrochemical *** features of the Mn_(3)O_(4)/N-doped honeycomb carbon(NHC)composite are responsible for its superior electrochemical *** used for Li-ion batteries,the Mn_(3)O_(4)/N-doped honeycomb carbon anode exhibits a high reversible capacity of 598 mAh·g^(−1)after 350 cycles at 1 A·g^(−1).Even at 2 A·g^(−1),the Mn_(3)O_(4)/NHC anode still delivers a high capacity of 472 mAh·g^(−1).This work provides a new prospect for synthesizing and developing manganese-based oxide materials for energy storage.

Study on the interaction mechanism of double-blade corona discharge with a large discharge gap

Multi-source corona discharge is a commonly used method to generate more charged particles,but the interaction mechanism between multiple discharge sources,which largely determines the overall discharge effect,has still not been studied *** this work,a large-space hybrid model based on a hydrodynamic model and ion-transport model is adopted to study the interaction mechanism between discharge ***,the effects of the number of electrodes,voltage level,and electrode spacing on the discharge characteristics are studied by taking a double-blade electrode as an *** calculation results show that,when multiple discharge electrodes operate simultaneously,the superimposed electric field includes multiple components from the electrodes,making the ion distribution and current different from that under a single-blade *** larger the distance between discharge electrodes,the weaker the *** the electrode spacing d is larger than 4 cm,the interaction can be *** results can guide the design of large discharge gap array electrodes to achieve efficient discharge.

An Environment‑Tolerant Ion‑Conducting Double‑Network Composite Hydrogel for High‑Performance Flexible Electronic Devices

High-performance ion-conducting hydrogels(ICHs)are vital for developing flexible electronic ***,the robustness and ion-conducting behavior of ICHs deteriorate at extreme tempera-tures,hampering their use in soft *** resolve these issues,a method involving freeze–thawing and ionizing radiation technology is reported herein for synthesizing a novel double-network(DN)ICH based on a poly(ionic liquid)/MXene/poly(vinyl alcohol)(PMP DN ICH)*** well-designed ICH exhibits outstanding ionic conductivity(63.89 mS cm^(-1) at 25℃),excellent temperature resistance(-60–80℃),prolonged stability(30 d at ambient temperature),high oxidation resist-ance,remarkable antibacterial activity,decent mechanical performance,and ***,the ICH performs effectively in a flexible wireless strain sensor,thermal sensor,all-solid-state supercapacitor,and single-electrode triboelectric nanogenerator,thereby highlighting its viability in constructing soft electronic *** highly integrated gel structure endows these flexible electronic devices with stable,reliable signal output *** particular,the all-solid-state supercapacitor containing the PMP DN ICH electrolyte exhibits a high areal specific capacitance of 253.38 mF cm^(-2)(current density,1 mA cm^(-2))and excellent environmental *** study paves the way for the design and fabrication of high-performance mul-tifunctional/flexible ICHs for wearable sensing,energy-storage,and energy-harvesting applications.

Traditional Sliding Mode Observers (SMO) in sensorless control of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) encounter issues such as chattering and phase delay, resulting in significant discrepancies between the estimated and actual rotor speed and position. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved SMO based on a Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) and an Open-Loop Frequency Estimation-based Second-Order Generalized Integrator Frequency Adaptive Filter (OLFE-SOGI) structure. The FLC implements an SMO with a selfadjusting shape factor for the sigmoid function. This strategy accelerates the convergence speed of the SMO while reducing chattering caused by the boundary layer thickness. Additionally, to mitigate the adverse effects brought by lowpass filters (LPF), the OLFE-SOGI is employed to accurately extract the back electromotive force (back-EMF) without phase delay and effectively eliminate high-order harmonic components. Simulation results verify the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed strategy. © 2024 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

A novel flexible plasma array for large-area uniform treatment of an irregular surface

In this work,we demonstrate a flexible multi-pin plasma generator with movable electrodes,which can change the shape of the electrode array freely,and then provide a large-area uniform plasma for the treatment of surfaces of different *** characteristics including U-I waveforms and discharge images and sterilization performance under three different electrode configurations(flat-flat,flat-curve,curve-curve)are *** similar results are acquired between the flat-flat configuration and the curve-curve configuration,which is much better than that under flat-curve *** flexible multi-pin plasma generator offers a simple method to treat different irregularly shaped surfaces uniformly with a single ***,this device provides a foundation for developing a self-adaption large-scale uniform plasma generator by further introducing automatic adjustment of the position of every electrode driven by motors with discharge current feedback in the following *** it will promote the applications of atmospheric-pressure cold plasmas significantly.
