To address abnormal situations such as packaging damage, liquid leakage, and item displacement during logistics package transportation, this paper introduces Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and image recognition technology to achieve real-time anomaly detection and alarm, improving the response speed and accuracy of the logistics system. First, by designing multiple layers of convolution and pooling layers, adding Batch Normalization layers and Dropout layers to prevent overfitting, a CNN deep learning model suitable for logistics package anomaly detection is constructed. Key features are extracted through image preprocessing methods such as normalization and data enhancement to ensure that the model has high recognition adaptability to various abnormal situations such as damage and leakage. Secondly, through data enhancement methods such as rotation, scaling, brightness adjustment, and transfer learning using pre-trained models, the model's adaptability in different lighting, angles, and occlusion conditions is improved. Finally, the model is applied to actual monitoring, and real-time alarms are issued for abnormalities such as damage and leakage, which are then fed back to the system closed-loop management. This method is significantly better than traditional methods in terms of detection accuracy and response speed. Under natural light environment, the model detection accuracy is as high as 98.4%, reducing false positives and false negatives. Combining CNN's anomaly detection technology effectively improves the accuracy and efficiency of logistics monitoring and provides technical support for intelligent logistics management.

Waves seriously impact port construction, worldwide route planning, military activities, and wave power generation. To improve the accuracy of significant wave height prediction, we proposed a novel prediction method, a multi-layer perceptron combined with a backpropagation adjustment (MLP-BP) prediction model that combines mutation mode decomposition (VMD) and a simulated annealing optimization algorithm (SA). Firstly, we use the variable modulus method to decompose the significant wave height sequence data and transform the wave height sequence into multiple different sub-modes (IMF) to reduce the complexity and non-stationarity of the data. Secondly, the simulated annealing algorithm (SA) is used to optimize the weight and bias of the MLP-BP neural network to find the optimal parameter configuration and improve the performance and generalization ability of the prediction model. Finally, the decomposed sub-modal components of each significant wave height sequence are inserted into the MLP-BP neural network and the predicted values of each element are summed to obtain the final significant wave height prediction. The prediction results of the SSA-MLP-BP, PSO-MLP-BP, SA-MLP-BP, and VMD-SA-MLP-BP were compared and demonstrated that the VMD-SA-MLP-BP model performed best. The MAE, MAPE, MSE, RMSE, and R2 of the prediction evaluation indexes were 0.036 m, 11.7%, 0.004 m2, 0.067 m, and 0.983, respectively, which performed well in predicting significant wave height. © 2023 IEEE.

In the field of railway transportation, with the continuous improvement of train running speed and the continuous increase of operating mileage, it becomes particularly important to ensure the safety and integrity of small-target infrastructure along the railway train. Although many small-target detection methods have been proposed, the research on small-target infrastructure detection along rail trains is very rare. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a small-target infrastructure detection network with spatial tracking and multi-level feature extraction based on Yolov8n. The experimental results show that ST-YOLO has a 3.6% mAP improvement on the OSDaR23 dataset compared to the baseline Yolov8n, and shows significant advantages over other state-of-the-art methods.

In this paper, we report a hybrid PEI/PEG-BP sensor (composite material of black phosphorus-organic framework-derived PEI/PEG nanohybrid) prepared by a one-pot method, in which the existence of PEI/PEG onto BP was confirmed by SEM, EDS, XPS and UPS. The gas sensing properties of the PEI/PEG-BP sensor, including the sensor response, response/recovery times, repeatability, selectivity, and effects of humidity on the sensor, were studied by exposure to several CO 2 gas concentrations ranging from 200 ppm to 300,000 ppm at room temperature (25 ℃). The results show that the PEI/PEG-BP sensor had an extremely wide detection range, with lower and upper detection limits of 200 ppm and 160,000 ppm, respectively. The response of the PEI/PEG-BP sensor to 200 ppm, and 160,000 ppm CO 2 gas at room temperature ( RT ) was 4.48%, and 254.02%, respectively, showing fast response/recovery time, excellent repeatability and high selectivity. The gas-sensing properties of the PEI/PEG-BP sensor are better than BP, PEI, PEG, PEI-BP and PEG-BP sensors. The superior properties of the PEI/PEG-BP sensor can be attributed to the BP framework, porous structure, electron doping, and surface reactive groups such as -NH 2 and -OH. The PEI/PEG-BP sensor, with its excellent gas-sensing performance will help us to further explore the changes of CO 2 concentration in microbial growth systems, natural environments, industrial production and so on. © 2022, The Authors. Design of wavelength division multiplexing devices based on tunable edge states of valley photonic crystals

Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) devices are key elements of Photonic integrated circuits (PICs). Conventional WDM devices based on silicon waveguides and photonic crystals have limited transmittance due to high loss introduced by the strong backward scattering from defects. In addition, it is challenging to reduce the footprint of those devices. Here we theoretically demonstrate a WDM device in the telecommunication range based on all-dielectric silicon topological valley photonic crystal (VPC) structures. We tune its effective refractive index by tuning the physical parameters of the lattice in the silicon substrate, which can continuously tune the working wavelength range of the topological edge states, which allows designing WDM devices with different channels. The WDM device has two channels (1470 nm-1523 nm and 1548 nm-1609 nm), with contrast ratios of 22.4 dB and 24.9 dB, respectively. The principle of manipulating the working bandwidth of the topological edge states can be generally applied in designing different integratable photonic devices, thus it will find broad applications. Meticulous 3D environment representations have been a longstanding goal in computer vision and robotics fields. The recent emergence of neural implicit representations has introduced radical innovation to this field as implicit representations enable numerous capabilities. Among these, the Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) has sparked a trend because of the huge representational advantages, such as simplified mathematical models, compact environment storage, and continuous scene representations. Apart from computer vision, NeRF has also shown tremendous potential in the field of robotics. Thus, we create this survey to provide a comprehensive understanding of NeRF in the field of robotics. By exploring the advantages and limitations of NeRF, as well as its current applications and future potential, we hope to shed light on this promising area of research. Our survey is divided into two main sections: The Application of NeRF in Robotics and The Advance of NeRF in Robotics, from the perspective of how NeRF enters the field of robotics. In the first section, we introduce and analyze some works that have been or could be used in the field of robotics from the perception and interaction perspectives. In the second section, we show some works related to improving NeRF's own properties, which are essential for deploying NeRF in the field of robotics. In the discussion section of the review, we summarize the existing challenges and provide some valuable future research directions for reference. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

Although fantastic milestones of Gallium nitride (GaN)-based materials in optoelectronic devices had been reached, the focus on the optimization of their geometrical structure for gas-sensing applications was relatively scarce. In this work, we demonstrated NO2 gas sensor based on p-type GaN hexagonal pits (GaN-HP) with high surface-to-volume ratio by wet etching method. The fabricated NO2 gas sensor had high sensitivity, high selectivity, fast response/recovery times. The response of p-type GaN-HP with etching time for 10 min to 2 ppm NO2 gas was 6.2%, which also have quick response and recovery time at room temperature. UV light drastically enhanced the response of p-type GaN-HP sensor by 1.3 times to 100 ppm NO2 . The gas sensing mechanism of p-type GaN-HP gas sensor was explored, which provided a theoretical and experimental basis for further research and development of high-performance gas sensors based on GaN material. © 2022, The Authors. According to the parameters of the ABB-IRB2400 robot model, the D-H parameter method is used to establish the robot’s linkage coordinate system and determine the parameter values. The coordinate transformation matrix06T of IRB2400 robot is obtained through forward kinematics analysis, and the inverse kinematics transformation method is used to solve the joint variables of the robot. The feasibility and correctness of the forward and inverse kinematics of the robot are verified by modeling the robot entity and importing ADAMS simulation analysis software. Combining MoveIt’s robot kinematics solver and RRT algorithm motion planning library, RVIZ is used to verify the feasibility of correlation trajectory algorithm for linear and arc interpolation trajectory planning of robot arm, which provides a foundation for weld grinding robot trajectory planning under complex working conditions. © 2022, Politechnica University of Bucharest. Based on the requirements of ship resistance towing test, a strain gauge type of resistance instrument has been designed, which consisting of the frame, towing component, course component, measuring component, etc. The towing component is responsible for the towing movement of the ship model, and the course component is responsible for constructing different course angles in the test requirements. An automatic brake mechanism has been equipped in measuring component, which can ensure the stability and accuracy of the tension sensor in towing test. The strength limit on the key components of the resistance instrument has been calculated by finite element analysis software, the optimization has been used in vulnerable components, and the instrument strength and reliability has been insured in the test.

Common-signal-induced synchronization of semiconductor lasers with optical feedback inspired a promising physical key distribution with information-theoretic security and potential in high rate. A significant challenge is the requirement to shorten the synchronization recovery time for increasing key rate without sacrificing operation parameter space for security. Here, open-loop synchronization of wavelength-tunable multi-section distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) lasers is proposed as a solution for physical-layer key distribution. Experiments show that the synchronization is sensitive to two operation parameters, i.e., currents of grating section and phase section. Furthermore, fast wavelength-shift keying synchronization can be achieved by direct modulation on one of the two currents. The synchronization recovery time is shortened by one order of magnitude compared to close-loop synchronization. An experimental implementation is demonstrated with a final key rate of 5.98 Mbit/s over 160 km optical fiber distance. It is thus believed that fast-tunable multi-section semiconductor lasers opens a new avenue of high-rate physical-layer key distribution using laser synchronization. Copyright © 2023, The Authors.
