New local perturbation bounds for the continuous-time H∞-control problem are obtained, which are nonlinear functions of the data perturbations and are tighter than the existing condition number-based local bounds. These nonlinear local bounds are then incorporated into nonlocal perturbation bounds which are less conservative than the existing nonlocal perturbation estimates for the H∞-control problem. Consider a simple two-way relaying channel in which two single-antenna sources exchange information via a multiple-antenna relay. For such a scenario, all the existing approaches that can achieve full cooperative diversity order are based on antenna/relay selection, for which the difficulty in designing the beamforming lies in the fact that a single beamformer needs to serve two destinations. In this paper, a new full-cooperative diversity beamforming scheme that ensures that the relay signals are coherently combined at both destinations is proposed. Both analytical and numerical results are provided to demonstrate the performance gains.

User stories present the mean of communication between customer and development team in agile methods;this paper provides a new user stories voice aimed to ease and automate analysis of objects and their action from the user story using OOADARE (Object-oriented Analysis and Design Approach for the Requirements Engineering) approach [1]. OOADARE approach was also missing a communication mean with the customer;user stories with the new template will do the job. © 2013 IEEE.

This paper addresses the problem of finite-time synchronization of tunnel diode based chaotic oscillators. After a brief investigation of its chaotic dynamics, we propose an active adaptive feedback coupling which accomplishes the synchronization of tunnel-diode-based chaotic systems with and without the presence of delay(s), basing ourselves on Lyapunov and on Krasovskii-Lyapunov stability theories. This feedback coupling could be applied to many other chaotic systems. A finite horizon can be arbitrarily established by ensuring that chaos synchronization is achieved at a pre-established time. An advantage of the proposed feedback coupling is that it is simple and easy to implement. Both mathematical investigations and numerical simulations followed by pspice experiment are presented to show the feasibility of the proposed method.

In this paper, a novel classification algorithm based on the ensemble learning and feature selection is proposed for predicting the specific microporous aluminophosphate ring structure. The proposed method can select the most significant synthetic factors for the generation of (6, 12)-ring-containing structure. First, the clustering method is employed for making each training subset contains all the structural characteristics of samples. Then, the method takes full account of the discrimination and class information of each feature by calculating the scores. Specially, the scores are fused for getting a weight for each feature. Finally, we select the significant features according to the weights. The result of feature selection will help to predict the (6, 12)-ring-containing AlPO structure well. Moreover, we compare our method with several classical feature selection methods and classification method by theoretical analysis and extensive experiments. Experimental results show that our method can achieve higher predictive accuracy with less synthetic factors.

Visualizing the Microdistribution of Zinc Borate in Oriented Strand Board Using X-Ray Microcomputed Tomography and SEM-EDX

Oriented strand board (OSB) is an important wood composite used in situations where fungal decay and termite attack can occur. To counter these threats, powdered zinc borate biocide is commonly added to OSB. The effectiveness of biocides depends on their even distribution within composites and resistance to leaching, but little is known about the distribution of zinc borate in OSB. Zinc is denser than wood and it should be possible to map its distribution in OSB using X-ray micro-CT. We test this hypothesis and chemically register zinc in OSB using SEM-EDX. Zinc borate particles aggregated at the wood-adhesive interface in OSB, creating interrupted lines of zinc oriented in the x - y plane. Zinc borate particles were also found in the lumens of wood cells. Zinc was distributed throughout OSB, although slightly less was present in the core of the composite than in surface layers. A network of zinc remained in OSB after leaching in water. The resistance of zinc to leaching may be due to its incorporation in glue-lines within OSB, in addition to its low water-solubility. We conclude that X-ray micro-CT is a powerful tool for studying the distribution of zinc in OSB and other wood composites containing zinc borate.
