Throughput analysis for successive interference cancellation-based two-device slotted ALOHA with feedback is studied over Nakagami-m fading channels. Explicit expressions for the state transition probabilities are derived for a Markov process, thus facilitating the computation of the throughput. Through optimization of the transmission probability, it is shown that the maximum throughput is achieved for a given code rate. © 2024 The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers.

Large-vocabulary object detectors (LVDs) aim to detect objects of many categories, which learn super objectness features and can locate objects accurately while applied to various downstream data. However, LVDs often struggle in recognizing the located objects due to domain discrepancy in data distribution and object vocabulary. At the other end, recent vision-language foundation models such as CLIP demonstrate superior open-vocabulary recognition capability. This paper presents KGD, a Knowledge Graph Distillation technique that exploits the implicit knowledge graphs (KG) in CLIP for effectively adapting LVDs to various downstream domains. KGD consists of two consecutive stages: 1) KG extraction that employs CLIP to encode downstream domain data as nodes and their feature distances as edges, constructing KG that inherits the rich semantic relations in CLIP explicitly;and 2) KG encapsulation that transfers the extracted KG into LVDs to enable accurate cross-domain object classification. In addition, KGD can extract both visual and textual KG independently, providing complementary vision and language knowledge for object localization and object classification in detection tasks over various downstream domains. Experiments over multiple widely adopted detection benchmarks show that KGD outperforms the state-of-the-art consistently by large margins. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. Bent functions have flat absolute Walsh-Hadamard spectra and negabent functions have flat absolute nega-Hadamard spectra. Those properties are wide applications in cryptography for constructing cryptographically strong functions and error correcting codes for better performance. In this paper, we present a new construction of quadratic and cubic negabent functions over finite fields. Those functions can be represented as the sum of the three components: one is the trace function of the monomial term ?x3 or it multiplying by the trace function of x;the second, the sum of all the quadratic monomial functions except for one;and the third, the product of two linear functions where the parameter ? and variable x belong to an arbitrary binary finite field of 2n elements for n odd. © 2023 IEEE.

Large scale artificial intelligence (AI) models possess excellent capabilities in semantic representation and understanding, making them particularly well-suited for semantic encoding and decoding. However, the substantial scale of these AI models imposes unacceptable computational resources and communication delays. To address this issue, we propose a semantic communication scheme based on robust knowledge distillation (RKD-SC) for large scale model enabled semantic communications. In the considered system, a transmitter extracts the features of the source image for robust transmission and accurate image classification at the receiver. To effectively utilize the superior capability of large scale model while make the cost affordable, we first transfer knowledge from a large scale model to a smaller scale model to serve as the semantic encoder. Then, to enhance the robustness of the system against channel noise, we propose a channel-aware autoencoder (CAA) based on the Transformer architecture. Experimental results show that the encoder of proposed RKD-SC system can achieve over 93.3% of the performance of a large scale model while compressing 96.67% number of parameters. Cloud data management has significant benefits for data storage and ***,it also brings some security concerns,such as the integrity of data and the reliability of online *** solve this problem,this paper proposes a blockchain and edge computing based public audit scheme,which is different from the traditional third-part auditor and the common blockchain-based two-party audit ***,this public audit scheme consists of data owners,edge computing servers,and cloud service *** to privacy data,a data owner generates lightweight verification labels and homomorphic hashes,and updates them on the blockchain.A completeness proof based on homomorphic hashes is computed by edge computing *** addition,the proposed scheme theoretically is capable of achieving 100% audit *** analysis shows that it can avoid the fraud of cloud server provider and data owner in the audit process,and has a strong ability to resist malicious *** results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the existing scheme in the computational cost of completeness verification.

Integrated Substrate Gap Waveguide (ISGW) is a newly proposed planar waveguide, which has the characteristics of low loss, easy integration and self-encapsulation, and is especially suitable for millimeter wave systems. Related waveguides have been widely used in the research and design of millimeter wave devices and antennas. However, no theoretical study has been made on the propagation characteristics of the waveguide, such as dispersion and characteristic impedance. Therefore, this paper will use conformal mapping method to study the characteristic impedance of ISGW waveguide. © 2023 Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES).

Distributed File Systems (DFSs) form the backbone of modern data centers' storage infrastructures, with metadata services critical to their performance. The recent emergence of the Disaggregated Persistent Memory (DPM) architecture, which decouples compute and persistent memory resources to enhance hardware utilization, presents an opportunity to innovate meta-data services. However, building a metadata service on the DPM architecture poses two major challenges: (1) numerous small remote reads saturate the lOPS capacity of RDMA Network Interface Cards (RNICs), and (2) frequent cache misses incur high latency penalties. Existing solutions fail to address the above challenges, making it impossible to fully utilize the DPM architecture to improve metadata service performance. This paper presents SenseFS, a metadata service tailored for the DPM architecture, It addresses these challenges with three key designs: (1) organizing metadata into fixed-size locality-preserving metadata buckets (MDBs) to enable efficient access with fewer remote reads, (2) mining the metadata correlation to optimize metadata placement, and (3) adopting a learning-based approach to allocate MDB space based on access patterns to improve space utilization. Evaluation results demonstrate that SenseFS significantly enhances metadata efficiency, achieving higher throughput and reduced latency compared to state-of-the-art solutions.

Wear is a persistent challenge in industrial applications, stemming from the interaction of numerous complex and interrelated factors. CuZn37Pb2 and AISI 1060 steel are particularly susceptible to wear due to their extensive industrial applications. To address this problem and enhance the scientific literature, it is essential first to understand and analyze the impact of these interconnected factors and their interactions through experimental investigations that consider the maximum number of available factors. This study developed a new wear test tool, machined on a horizontal lathe, to conduct tests under both dry and lubricated conditions. A tribological comparison was made between the lathe test and a tribometer, considering the interplay of various factors. The study examined and compared initial surface roughness, load, sliding speed, wear track diameter, track width, contact temperature, wear loss, and wear rate in relation to the friction coefficient. Experiments were performed at torques ranging from 25 to 100 N, at speeds of 0.30, 0.40, and 0.50 m/s, and with wear track diameters of 4, 6, 8, and 10 mm. The worn surfaces and wear tracks of each sample were analyzed using optical microscopy, XRD patterns, and SEM–EDS. This work investigated the influence of temperature (ranging from 50 to 200 °C) on the friction properties of the two alloys. It was found that the morphological structure of the sample and the type of test significantly impact the tribological response of the surfaces, each interacting uniquely with varying contributions from the tribological parameters. Despite the wear rate calculation error being less than 45.14% in both tests, the findings indicated that the tribological response under ideal laboratory conditions differs from that in real-world environments.
