Personalized news recommendation is the process of predicting the relevance of news to users and recommending news to user to fulfill their information needs. However, existing news recommendation methods extract semantic information from users and candidate news respectively, ignoring semantic interaction information between users and candidate news. Furthermore, previous models only use same node types for message passing, ignoring different characteristics and topology between different node types. In addition, existing methods learn news representations through text representations, ignoring semantic correlation information between entity relationships and texts. To solve these problems, we propose a personalized news recommendation model named CoHG. In our model, we design a collaborative fusion module to obtain semantic interaction information through interacting user history news with candidate news. Furthermore, we design a heterogeneous gated graph neural network that maps different node types into a same space to extract higher-order information in user graphs for message passing. Moreover, we design an enhanced relevant attention module to enhance semantic correlation information of text content by aggregating text representation and entity representation into a unified representation. Finally, we conducted experiments on MIND and Adressa datasets to compare with other baseline models. © 2024 IEEE.

The emerging space-terrestrial integrated networks (STIN) are envisioned to provide seamless connectivity for global coverage. As a promising key component for STIN, the Low Earth Orbiting (LEO) satellite network still faces significant technological challenges in routing for ensuring both reachability and efficiency, due to frequent topology changes and uneven load distribution. Load-balancing routing is a feasible solution to improve efficiency by alleviating regional overload, however, it may encounter either slow convergences or local perceptions. In this paper, we propose a Neighbor Load Rank (NLR) based load-balancing routing for LEO satellite networks, where potential congestion at the queue buffer of a satellite node is characterized by load scores of its neighboring satellites, so as to reduce the perspective limitation of local load-balancing routing. To accelerate routing convergence and reduce computational complexity, we design region delineation, boundary penalty and directional incentive strategies to obtain the approximate minimum hop count path. Meanwhile, we employ the topology-stabilizing model (TSM) to convert the frequent satellite-ground interconnection changes into traffic fluctuations. Simulations demonstrate that NLR can maintain low-latency capacity with lower transmission overhead and effectively balance the overloaded traffic. © 2024 IEEE.

The increasing prevalence of integrated on-chip optoelectronic devices has identified serious issues regarding inter-device transmission and coupling losses, highlighting an urgent need for on-chip waveguide amplifiers to compensate for these losses. Compared with other Er-based optical materials, erbium silicate is ideally suited to high-efficiency on-chip amplifiers and lasers because of its extremely high Er3+concentration(1022cm-3). Nevertheless, erbium silicate must be annealed above 1000℃ to crystallize and activate the Er3+, which damages other on-chip optoelectronic components and is not conducive to device ***, we report a low-fabrication-temperature, high-luminescence-efficiency gain material by adding Bi2O3to an erbium-ytterbium silicate mixed film. Our experiments demonstrate that the proposed film crystallizes at 600℃ while the activation of Er3+is also achieved, which is the lowest activation temperature of on-chip waveguide amplifier to our knowledge. This material forms the basis for a new chip-scale waveguide amplifier design, with a theoretical multi-energy-level model of Bi-Er-Yb in the mixed thin films used to analyze its signal enhancement properties. We achieve a peak on-chip gain of 23 dB in a 3.3-mm-long waveguide under the pump and signal powers of 300 mW and 1 μW, respectively. These results highlight the potential of the proposed material for realizing on-chip amplifiers and lasers for large-scale nanophotonic integrated circuits.

With the proliferation of data-intensive industrial applications, the collaboration of computing powers among standalone edge servers is vital to provision such services for smart devices. In this paper, we propose an edge-driven industrial computing power network (CPN) by orchestrating the computing and network resources of edge servers through the centralized resource scheduling and decentralized task computing. However, efficient task offloading and collaborative processing is challenging, which requires higher degrees of network automation and intelligence. Therefore, we incorporate digital twins (DTs) into the edge-driven CPN architecture, where the DTs are created as the digital replicas to assist both the computation offloading and collaborative processing. A joint optimization problem of the computing power assignment, service association, task partition, and transmit power control is formulated for maximizing the system average weighted utility. Due to the temporal-spatial variability of tasks and the resulted dynamic environment, we transform the original problem as a Markov decision process aiming at maximizing the long-term average weighted utility. To efficiently handle the high-dimensional discrete-continuous action space, a hybrid soft actor-critic based deep reinforcement learning algorithm is developed for optimizing the joint design. Simulation results validate the superiority of our proposed algorithm over the benchmarks, showing the significant gains obtained by integrating DTs into the edge-driven CPN. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites are gradually developing towards to a large scale, in order to achieve a desired vision of ubiquitous connectivity and broadband access at anytime and anywhere. However, the increasing scale and highly dynamic nature of LEO constellation pose challenges to network management on its flexibility and scalability. Clustering is introduced as an effective approach to manage LEO satellite networks in a flexible manner. Unfortunately, satellite clusters encounter instability and high communication load due to frequent topology changes and traffic growth. In this paper, we design LEO satellites clustering models that jointly optimize cluster reliability and network communication load in the GEO/LEO network architecture. The coalition game framework is introduced to obtain a stable cluster structure by adopting an automated and centralized approach. A coalition formation algorithm based on the optimization of reliability and communication load is developed for the clustering problem. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to evaluate the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed grouping and clustering scheme. © 2024 IEEE.

3D medical image segmentation is an essential task in the medical image field, which aims to segment organs or tumours into different labels. A number of issues exist with the current 3D medical image segmentation task: existing models cannot simultaneously obtain the space correlation and depth correlation of 3D slices;previous models suffer from local detail loss of positional embedding in 3D images;previous approaches often have blurring of boundaries in segmenting 3D images. To solve these shortcomings, we propose a 3D medical image segmentation model named TPM-SAM. In our model, we design a twinchannel image encoder to simultaneously capture the space correlation and depth correlation of 3D slices through a multi-head attention mechanism and improved adapters. Furthermore, we design a prompt encoding generator, which divides the volumetric image into small blocks and better captures the local detail information. In addition, we introduce a multi-layer aggregation decoder by employing U-Net with multi-level skip connection to solve the blurring of boundaries in processing 3D images. Finally, we experimented and evaluated our model on KiTS21 and LiTS17 datasets to compare with other baseline models. © 2024 IEEE.

Wear is a significant industrial issue caused by the interaction of multiple complex factors rather than solely by material properties. CuZn37Pb2 and AISI 1060 steel are particularly susceptible to wear due to extensive industrial applications. This study developed a wear test tool, machined on a horizontal lathe, for testing under dry and lubricated conditions. A tribological comparison was conducted between the lathe test and a tribometer, examining factors like surface roughness, load, sliding speed, wear track diameter, track width, contact temperature, wear loss, and wear rate relative to the friction coefficient. Experiments were performed with torques ranging from 25 to 100 N, speeds of 0.30, 0.40, and 0.50 m/s, and wear track diameters of 4, 6, 8, and 10 mm. Worn surfaces and wear tracks were analyzed using optical microscopy and SEM-EDS. The influence of temperature (50 °C to 200 °C) on friction properties was studied, showing that sample morphology and test type greatly affect tribological response. Despite a wear rate calculation error below 8.12%, results indicated differences between laboratory and real-world tribological responses. This study enhances wear understanding by examining numerous previously unstudied characteristics and shows that, although wear cannot be entirely eliminated, it can be significantly minimized. laboratory testing provides prototypes for industrial challenges, effectively linking academic research with industry needs. © 2024 The Authors.

High-efficiency and low-cost knowledge sharing can improve the decision-making ability of autonomous vehicles by mining knowledge from the Internet of Vehicles(IoVs).However,it is challenging to ensure high efficiency of local data learning models while preventing privacy leakage in a high mobility *** order to protect data privacy and improve data learning efficiency in knowledge sharing,we propose an asynchronous federated broad learning(FBL)framework that integrates broad learning(BL)into federated learning(FL).In FBL,we design a broad fully connected model(BFCM)as a local model for training client *** enhance the wireless channel quality for knowledge sharing and reduce the communication and computation cost of participating clients,we construct a joint resource allocation and reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)configuration optimization framework for *** problem is decoupled into two convex *** to improve the resource scheduling efficiency in FBL,a double Davidon–Fletcher–Powell(DDFP)algorithm is presented to solve the time slot allocation and RIS configuration *** on the results of resource scheduling,we design a reward-allocation algorithm based on federated incentive learning(FIL)in FBL to compensate clients for their *** simulation results show that the proposed FBL framework achieves better performance than the comparison models in terms of efficiency,accuracy,and cost for knowledge sharing in the IoV.

Knowledge graphs (KGs) provide a structured representation of the real world through entity-relation triples. However, current KGs are often incomplete, typically containing only a small fraction of all possible facts. This involves inferring missing content from existing information, a task known as link prediction. Existing methods in the field of link prediction struggle with controlling the dimensionality of embedding vectors or suffer from overly complex models. In order to tackle these challenges, we introduce a method in this paper, named Low-Dimensional Embedding Method for Link Prediction Combining Self-Attention and Enhanced-TuckER (LESaET). LESaET leverages both self-attention mechanisms and tensor factorization to learn expressive contextual-enhanced representations of KGs. Specifically, LESaET employs the multi-head self-attention mechanism of Transformer as an encoder to capture the mutual information between entities and relationships, and utilizes Enhanced-TuckER as a decoder, ultimately achieving expressive low-dimensional embeddings for link prediction tasks. LESaET demonstrates competitive performance compared to advanced methods on standard datasets. © 2024 IEEE.
