The concept of clustering has garnered significant attention within the field of complex networks. Numerous clustering algorithms have been documented in the extant academic literature. However, most of them consider static signed networks, which are not suitable for dynamical networks. For dynamical signed networks, there is a class of algorithms called cluster dynamics. Nevertheless, they regard the connection to be time-invariant, which is a constraint. In this paper, for a kind of dynamical signed networks with time-varying connections, we discuss the adaptive control scheme for clustering of nodes, such that the network evolves asymptotically into a classifiable network that contains several friends’ groups with clear sign boundaries. In other words, through the careful design of the controller for the nodes and the establishment of coupling relationships between the nodes and their connections, we ensure that the connection of the dynamical signed network can approximate asymptotically the connection of a given classifiable network, as measured by the concept of uniformly ultimately bounded (UUB). Finally, the simulation is used to illustrate the validity of the method proposed in this paper. © ICST Institute for computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering 2024.

Due to the scarcity of labeled faulty data in industrial practice, fault diagnosis models often face challenges related to overfitting and limited accuracy. This article introduces a novel solution to tackle the problem - a fault diagnosis method that leverages a combination of a semi-supervised prototype network and contrastive learning. Firstly, a limited number of labeled samples is employed to construct pairs of positive and negative samples. And the training method of contrastive learning is used to provide appropriate initial parameters for the autoencoder. Secondly, the autoencoder is employed as a feature mapping function within the prototype network and obtains the prototype using a limited number of labeled samples. Finally, a prototype refinement method fine-tunes the prototype through unlabeled data, reducing the impact of anomalous data and obtaining a more stable and accurate prototype. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated using gearbox data as a validation dataset. Through comparative analysis with other methods, the results demonstrate that the proposed approach achieves superior diagnostic accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

Automatically generated questions often suffer from problems such as unclear expression or factual inaccuracies, requiring a reliable and comprehensive evaluation of their quality. Human evaluation is widely used in the field of question generation (QG) and serves as the gold standard for automatic metrics. However, there is a lack of unified human evaluation criteria, which hampers consistent and reliable evaluations of both QG models and automatic metrics. To address this, we propose QGEval, a multi-dimensional Evaluation benchmark for Question Generation, which evaluates both generated questions and existing automatic metrics across 7 dimensions: fluency, clarity, conciseness, relevance, consistency, answerability, and answer consistency. We demonstrate the appropriateness of these dimensions by examining their correlations and distinctions. Through consistent evaluations of QG models and automatic metrics with QGEval, we find that 1) most QG models perform unsatisfactorily in terms of answerability and answer consistency, and 2) existing metrics fail to align well with human judgments when evaluating generated questions across the 7 dimensions. We expect this work to foster the development of both QG technologies and their evaluation. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.

A codebook designed for learning discrete distributions in latent space has demonstrated state-of-the-art results on generation tasks. This inspires us to explore what distribution of codebook is better. Following the spirit of Kepler's Conjecture, we cast the codebook training as solving the sphere packing problem and derive a Kepler codebook with a compact and structured distribution to obtain a codebook for image representations. Furthermore, we implement the Kepler codebook training by simply employing this derived distribution as regularization and using the codebook partition method. We conduct extensive experiments to evaluate our trained codebook for image reconstruction and generation on natural and human face datasets, respectively, achieving significant performance improvement. Besides, our Kepler codebook has demonstrated superior performance when evaluated across datasets and even for reconstructing images with different resolutions. Community search is the problem of identifying the community in which a given node resides. Different from traditional community search methods based on specific topological structures, this paper proposes a community search algorithm based on containment control of multi-agent system by studying the influence of opinion leaders with competitive relationships in community formation. Firstly, the Breadth-First Search method is used to locally sample the network. Secondly, containment control of multi-agent system is applied to obtain the final state of each node for local community partitioning. Finally, grounded in practical considerations, an effective leadership transfer mechanism is proposed to update the results and enhance search precision. Through experiments on real-world networks and synthetic networks in comparison with three local community detection algorithms, the effectiveness and rationality of our algorithm are demonstrated. © 2024 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.
