With the rapid growth of Internet, the amount of malicious codes is exploding. Some security software vendors provide new cloud-based safeguard software for client users. These software, as part of Internet ware, consist of many modules with different functions and Internet behaviors. The Trojan scanning module, for instance, is based on cloud scanning function, which is achieved by collecting a large number of suspicious files on users' hosts and scanning them in remote cloud platforms. While providing security, they also bring a serious problem of user privacy. In this paper, we use black box testing method to analyze the network behavior of four safeguard software, especially the Trojan scanning module based on cloud scanning function. In specific, we conduct extensive experiments to examine the network behaviors of the major function modules used by these safeguard software. In this paper we present a reasonable network behavior model that can help the safeguard software to protect users' privacy. One way of looking at our contributions is the network behavior comparison and analysis of four safeguard software which are widely used in China. And the experimental results validate our claims either.

Prediction of hard rock TBM penetration rate using least square support vector machine

The prediction of tunnel boring machine (TBM) penetration rate is helpful to plan construction time and to control cost. This paper studies on modeling the penetration rate and the rock mass parameters via least square support vector machine (LS-SVM). These rock properties include uniaxial compressive strength (UCS), Brazilian tensile strength (BTS), peak slope index (PSI), distance between planes of weakness (DPW) and the alpha angle. The correlation between the rock parameters and the measured rate of penetration (ROP) is first investigated via LS-SVM. Then the necessity of normalizing the rock parameters is discussed. Finally, comparisons between the LS-SVM and other methods are presented to demonstrate the applicability of LS-SVM for predicting ROP.

On Variation of Infinite Horizon Performance of Model Predictive Control with Varying Receding Horizon

This paper investigates variation of infinite horizon (IH) performance of Model Predictive Control (MPC) without constraints as the optimization horizon changes. By exploring properties of the Difference Riccati Equations (DRE), an upper bound and a lower bound of the ratio between variation of IH performance of MPC and finite horizon (FH) optimal cost are obtained. The result shows the dynamic behavior of IH performance of closed-loop MPC systems as the optimization horizon varies.

Object tracking algorithm based on Meanshift algorithm with fixed kernel bandwidth does not realize object tracking correctly with the scale of object changed. According to this, a scheme of kernel bandwidth adaptive adjustment and predictions of object cancroids based on Kalman filter is proposed in this paper. In this algorithm, Object location predicted based on Kalman filter is used to initialize the Meanshift algorithm. The variation tendency of the kernel bandwidth is also determined based on Kalman filter. Experiment results demonstrate that this algorithm can realize the kernel bandwidth adaptive adjustment and object location prediction. The robustness of the tracking algorithm is also enhanced.

Robust stabilization and disturbance attenuation for a class of underactuated mechanical systems

The robust control problem for a class of underactuated mechanical systems called acrobots is addressed. The goal is to drive the acrobots away from the straight-down position and balance them at the straight-up unstable equilibrium position in the presence of parametric uncertainties and external disturbance. First, in the swing-up area, it is shown that the time derivative of energy is independent of the parameter uncertainties, but exogenous disturbance may destroy the characteristic of increase in mechanical energy. So, a swing-up controller with compensator is designed to suppress the influence of the disturbance. Then, in the attractive area, the control problem is formulated into a H~ control framework by introducing a proper error signal, and a sufficient condition of the existence of Hoo state feedback control law based on linear matrix inequality （LMI） is proposed to guarantee the quadratic stability of the control system. Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed control approach can simultaneously handle a maximum ±10% parameter perturbation and a big disturbance simultaneously.

Content-Aware Opportunistic Packet Scheduling with Dynamic Routing Algorithm for Multi-path Video Streaming over Mesh Networks

Multi-path video streaming over networks emerges as an important application in multimedia com- munication. Since the efficiency of multi-path video streaming is closely tied to the packet scheduling strate- gies, in this paper, we develop a content-aware opportunis- tic packet scheduling scheme with dynamic routing algo- rithm, which aims to maximize the reconstructed video quality by considering the content diversity of each video packet. To handle the problem of increased reordering de- lay, a sliding-window-based policy is then developed to find a balance between the reconstructed video quality and the reordering delay, throughout and packet loss. Our exten- sive experimental results demonstrate that the proposed packet scheduling scheme significantly outperforms EDPF and achieves a good tradeoff between the reconstructed video quality and the reordering time at the receiver side.

This work presents an application of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) of random access with one-way transmission to the monitoring of hospital patients. In the paper, we consider WSN single-hop network using one single radio frequency, such that all nodes are divided into several groups depending on the average time between the transmission due to the different state of health of patients. We apply the Poisson Arrivals See Time Averages (PASTA) to modeling of WSN. We present formula for the probability of collisions which has been verified by simulation studies of network.

This paper investigates the asymptotical stabilization of port-controlled Hamiltonian （PCH） systems via the improved potential energy-shaping （IPES） method. First, a desired potential energy introduced by a transitive Hamiltonian function is added to the original kinetic energy to yield a desired Hamiltonian function. Second, an asymptotically stabilized controller is designed based on a new matching equation with the obtained Hamiltonian function. Finally, a numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The Solar Granulation is an ubiquitous structure in the quiet *** brighter features called "Photospheric Bright Points(PBPs)" are found within inter-granules in G-band images *** are the small-scale feature on the solar *** their characteristics may reveal the significant problems such as coronal hearting,local dynamo theory and the relation of magnetic *** the presented paper,we utilized Laplacian and morphological dilation(LMD) technique to detect and extract PBPs within inter-granular lanes.A data set has been taken with the Dutch Open Telescope(DOT) on July 2, *** was employed to analyze the geometrical feature of *** statistical distributions of PBPs were obtained by the proposed *** diameter distribution of PBPs is consistent with lognormal *** peak diameter occurs at about *** histogram of geometrical features is derived from the PBPs *** distribution of eccentricity indicates that approximately 50%PBPs have a near circular,the average eccentricity occurs at *** distribution accords with an Exponential fit.

[Context and motivation] Implicit requirements (ImRs) are defined as requirements of a system which are not explicitly expressed during requirements elicitation, often because they are considered so basic that developers should already know them. Many products have been rejected or users made unhappy because implicit requirements were not sufficiently addressed. [Question/Problem] Requirement management tools have not addressed the issue of managing ImRs, also despite the challenges of managing ImRs that exist in practice the issue has not received sufficient attention in the literature. [Principal Idea/results] This planned research will investigate how automated support can be provided for managing ImRs within an organizational context, which is currently lacking in practice. This work proposed an approach that is based on semantic case-based reasoning for managing ImRs. [Contribution] We present the concept of a tool which enables managing of ImRs through the analogy-based requirements reuse of previously known ImRs. This ensures the discovery, structured documentation, proper prioritization, and evolution of ImRs, which improves the overall success of software development processes. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
