This paper presents a Gaussian mixture probability hypothesis density (GM-PHD) smoother for tracking multiple maneuvering targets that follow jump Markov models. Unlike the generalization of the multiple model GM-PHD filters, our aim is to approximate the dynamics of the linear Gaussian jump Markov system (LGJMS) by a best-fitting Gaussian (BFG) distribution so that the GM-PHD smoother can be carried out with respect to an approximated linear Gaussian system. Our approach is inspired by the recognition that the BFG approximation provides an accurate performance measure for the LGJMS. Furthermore, the multiple model estimation is avoided and less computational cost is required. The effectiveness of the proposed smoother is verified with a numerical simulation. © 2011 AACC American Automatic Control Council.

近年来，图模型广泛应用于生物信息、计算化学、语义网等领域。目前，“过滤-验证”机制被广泛用于子图包含查询，即首先根据图数据的特征构造索引，然后根据索引产生候选集，最后对候选集中的每一个图进行子图同构验证。在这类算法中，“过滤”阶段是关注的重点，力争过滤掉更多的数据;而“验证”阶段则只是单纯地进行候选图子图同构检测，并没有进一步优化查询性能的可能。因此，提出了一种新的子图包含查询的迭代处理机制：“选择-验证-过滤”，可利用从子图同构验证过程中得到的信息，结合数据库中图数据之间的相关关系，进行迭代查询处理。该机制首先选择数据库中的图与查询图进行同构验证，然后根据本次验证得到的信息，结合图数据之间的子图映射关系，进行迭代查询处理。一旦子图同构验证成功则可直接获得查询结果，而若验证不成功，则可以缩小下次迭代的查询搜索空间。为提高验证成功概率，提出了一种基于搜索空间预测的图选择策略。大量实验表明，该算法具有较“过滤-验证”机制更高的查询处理性能。

This paper deal with a kind of routing control problems of networks. The incentive Stackelberg strategy concept in the game theory was introduced to the network traffic model that comprises subsidiary systems of consumers (users) and network. Moreover, to unify the benefits of operators and consumers, a novel self-report network traffic pricing model is constructed. The main idea of the model is that users themselves reporting network traffic according to own practical demand. In the model, the part of excess or leavings will be appropriate punished by a new establishing linear incentive strategy. The results of the theoretical analysis and simulation demonstrate that the proposed strategy provides incentive by means of appropriate resource allocation, and improves the utilization of network resources.

针对索引维护时间和空间效率低的问题,提出了一种基于分配空间自学习的在线动态索引混合更新机制(on-line dynamic index hybrid update,ODIHU).ODIHU根据Zipf分布原理对长短列表数量分布进行估计,并采用基于历史分配空间的自适应学习机制对长短列表空间进行有效管理,然后对短列表采用立即合并更新方式,长列表采用上限Y相邻多路合并的更新方式维护,实现索引更新与查询性能的有效折中.理论分析及实验结果表明,ODIHU能有效地提高索引维护与更新过程中的空间效率、索引合并与查询时间效率.

We present a new virtual indexing method for estimating host connection degrees for high speed links. It is based on the virtual connection degree sketch where a compact sketch of network traffic is built by generating the associated virtual bitmaps for each host. Each virtual bitmap consists of a fixed number of bits selected randomly from a shared bit array by a new method for recording the traffic flows of the corresponding host. The shared bit array is efficiently utilized by all hosts since its every bit is shared by the virtual bitmaps of multiple hosts. To reduce the “noise” contaminated in a host's virtual bitmaps due to sharing, we propose a new method to generate the “filtered” bitmap used to estimate host connection degree. Furthermore, it can be easily implemented in parallel and distributed processing environments. The experimental and testing results based on the actual network traffic show that the new method is accurate and efficient.

In this paper, fuzzy job shop scheduling problems are considered and an efficient swarm-based neighbourhood search (SNS) is proposed, in which an ordered operation-based representation and the decoding procedure are given. It is proved that most of possible actual completion times lie in the cut of fuzzy completion time for each job. In SNS, adaptive swap operation and binary tournament selection are applied to update swarm. SNS is compared with some methods from literature and computational results demonstrate that SNS has promising advantage on fuzzy scheduling. © 2011 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Pedestrian detection is important in the computer vision field. In the nighttime, pedestrian detection is even more valuable. In this paper, we address the issue of detecting pedestrians in video streams from a moving camera at nighttime. Most nighttime human detection approaches only use single feature extracted from images. The effective image features in daytime environment may suffer from textureless, high contrast and low light problems at night. To deal with these issues, we first segment the foreground by using the proposed Smart Region Detection approach to generate candidates. Then we design a nighttime pedestrian detection system based on the AdaBoost and the support vector machine (SVM) classifiers with contour and histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) features to effectively recognize pedestrians from those candidates. Combining different type of complementary features improve the detection performance. Results show that our pedestrian detection system is promising in the nighttime environment.

In future power systems, the Smart Grid technologies will bring in a large number of new entities, which are different from those in the current systems in two major aspects: first, the entities are geographically distributed throughout the system with their detailed information not available to the system operator, and second, the entities tend to autonomously optimize their own benefits. In view of both aspects, it is difficult to use the current centralized framework to operate future systems. In this paper, we present and analyze a new partially decentralized framework and the corresponding mechanisms as one step from the current framework toward the future ones, and the focus is on the real time electricity markets with a dispatch cycle of five minutes. In each dispatch cycle, the system operator posts electricity price forecasts, and individual entities actively respond to the prices to dispatch themselves. The system-wide power imbalance is used as a correction term in the next dispatch cycle to iteratively update the price forecasts, so that system balance is maintained in the long term. The new framework can accommodate the large number of entities without knowing their detailed information, and enable the entities to achieve better economic benefits. Small examples are used to analyze our framework and to compare it with the current one.

In this study, a new type of trigonometric neural network is presented by adding frequency and phase to trigonometric activation functions. The proposed trigonometric neural network has more flexibility in comparison with conventional trigonometric neural networks and even other types of neural networks. Due to the low convergence rate and high posibility of trapping in a local minimum of backpropagation algorithm, Extended Kalman Filter algorithm is used to train the neural network's parameters which they appear in a nonlinear form. The Simulation of the suggested neural network based on the prediction of Mackey-Glass time series and identification of a nonlinear dynamic ystem reveals the efficiency of the proposed network. To show the efficiency of this method, the results are compared with the results of the others.
