Question classification is an important step in a question answering system, the accuracy rate of question classification has great impact to a question answering system's following module. This paper proposed a question classification method which union syntactic structures relationships and domain characteristic. This method chooses sentence trunk and domain terms as classified characteristic, uses improved Bayes classify learning algorithm to structure question classification model. This paper has realized question classification in Yunnan tourism question answering system. Experiment results showed that the method is effective;the accuracy rate is 87.4% in 5 coarse and 79.5% in 23 fine in Yunnan traveling domain. © 2008 Binary Information Press.

The dual heuristic programming (DHP) approach has a superior capability to solve approximate dynamic programming problems in the family of adaptive critic designs (ACDs). In this paper, a DHP based controller is developed for vibration isolation applications. In the specific case of an active-passive isolator, a multilayer feedforward neural network is pre- trained as a differentiable model of the plant for the adaptation of the critic and action networks. In addition, in order to avoid plunging in the local minima during the training process, pseudorandom signals, which represent the vibrations of the base, are applied to the vibration isolation system. This technique greatly improves the robustness of the DHP controller against unknown disturbances. Moreover, the "shadow critic" training strategy is adopted to improve the convergence rate of the training. Simulation results have shown that the developed DHP controller alleviates vibration disturbances more effectively and have better control performance in comparison with the passive isolator. Additionally, as compared with the one adapted on-line, the pre-trained model network leads the training to be more efficient. Therefore, it further demonstrates the effectiveness of the DHP controller designed with the pre-trained model network even in the presence of unmodeled uncertainties.

Improved ant colony algorithm for the VRPSPD with maximum distance constraint

This paper studies the reverse logistics vehicle routing problem of simultaneous distribution of commodities and collection of reusable ones the same size as the initial state with a single depot and a homogeneous fleet of vehicles with limited capacities and maximum distance, and constructs a mixed integer programming model. To solve this problem, an Ant Colony System (ACS) approach combining with the pheromone updating strategy of ASRank (Rank-based Version of Ant System) and MMAS (MAX-MIN Ant System) is proposed. A new heuristic factor is designed to improve the vehicle loading ability as well as the vehicle distance, and the initial vehicle load is designed to be a random value correlated to the delivery and pick-up demand of the rest customers on the path. The experimental study indicates that the approach could improve the vehicle load rate and get rid of the additional total distance caused by the fluctuating vehicle load and the limited capacity. It could obtain the satisfied solution with high convergence speed in the acceptable time.

An adaptive control approach is proposed to deal with the multiple manipulators consensus problem based on the multi-agent theory. In the current multi-agent literature, agents were assumed to have determined models. However, the practical manipulator's kinematics contains uncertain parameters. By using the projection method, the adaptive updating law for uncertain kinematic parameters is derived. Then, the estimated manipulator Jacobian matrix can be obtained to design the decentralized controller. By the proposed controller, all the manipulators' end-effectors move towards the same configuration to achieve certain coordination tasks. In addition, performance of the control system is analyzed by the Lyapunov method, and the consensus error is proved to approach zero. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is illustrated by simulations on a multiple PUMA 560 robots system.

Transient stability problem for a single machine infinite bus system with the generator excitation and thyristor controlled series compensation when damping coefficients are measured inaccurately is investigated. A robust coordinated passivation controller is designed to achieve the stability of the rotor angle and speed. The excitation voltage control is obtained by means of adaptive back-stepping method and Lyapunov stability theory using a fourth-order two-input nonlinear model. A parameter updating law is obtained simultaneously, and the reactance modulated input is derived via the coordinated passivation approach. This way the feedback passivity of the overall system is achieved and the closed-loop system is made asymptotically stable. Simulation results for a given example of the SIMB benchmark case demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design.

Objective of any biclustering algorithm in microarray data is to discover a subset of genes that are expressed similarly in a subset of conditions. The boundaries of biclusters usually overlap as genes and conditions may belong to different biclusters with different membership degrees. Hence the notion of fuzzy sets is useful for discovering such overlapping biclusters. In this article an attempt has been made to develop a multiobjective genetic algorithm based approach for probabilistic fuzzy biclustering that minimizes the residual and maximizes cluster size and expression profile variance. A novel variable string length encoding has been proposed in this regard that encodes multiple biclusters in a single string. Also a new performance measure that reflects how a bicluster is statistically distinguished from the background is proposed. Performance of the proposed algorithm has been compared with some well known biclustering algorithms.

This article investigates the reverse logistics vehicle routing problem with a single depot, simultaneous distribution and collection of the goods by a homogeneous fleet of vehicles under the restrictions of maximum capacities and maximum distance. A mixed integer programming model is established. To solve the model, an Ant Colony System (ACS) approach combined with the pheromone updating strategy of ASRank and MMAS ant algorithm is proposed. In such approach, the vehicle residual loading capacity is introduced into the heuristic function considering the complex feature of fluctuating vehicle load. Moreover, the initial load is designed to be a random value correlated to the delivery and pick-up demands of the rest clients. The experimental study indicates that the proposed approach could improve the vehicle load rate and avoid the added total distance caused by the fluctuating load and the maximum capacity constraint. It could reach the satisfied solutions with high convergence speed in an acceptable computational time.

The problem of robust output-feedback control for a class of uncertain switching fuzzy control systems is investigated. Asymptotic stability of the observer, based on the error equation, is obtained by using the switching technique and the common Lyapunov function method. Switching laws are also designed via using single Lyapunov function method for observer equation such that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable. The sufficient condition for the asymptotic stability of the uncertain switching fuzzy control system is transformed into standard solvable LMIs. An illustrative example along with the respective simulation results is give to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design synthesis.

The Analog circuits are very important in many high-speed applications such as communications. Since the size of analog circuit is becoming larger and more complex, the design is becoming more and more difficult. This paper proposes a new circuit representation method based on a two-layer evolutionary scheme with genetic programming (TLGP), which uses a divide-and-conquer approach to evolve the analog circuits. This representation has the desirable property which is more helpful to generate expectant circuit graphs. And it is capable of generating various kinds of circuits by evolving the circuits with dynamical size, circuit topology, and component values. The experimental results on the designs of the voltage amplifier and the low-pass filter show that this method is efficient.

The non-existence of triangular arbitrage in an efficient foreign exchange markets is widely believed. In this paper, we deploy a forecasting model to predict foreign exchange rates and apply the triangular arbitrage model to evaluate the possibility of an arbitrage opportunity. Surprisingly, we substantiate the existence of triangular arbitrage opportunities in the exchange rate forecasting market even with transaction costs. This also implies the inefficiency of the market and potential market threats of profit-seeking investors. In our experiments, neural network based model with back-propagation (BP-NN) is used for exchange rate forecasting.
