microRNAs play an important role in post-transcriptional gene regulation. Recently, viral microRNAs have been discovered in several viruses, including Hepatitis B virus. This brief work explores bioinformatics tools for viral/host miRNA research and provides insights into the roles of miRNAs in HBV infection, offering an overview of this field, in order to facilitate the selection of the most suitable bioinformatics tools according to individual needs and research goals. © 2023 IEEE.

MI3SE: A Multi-User Index-Based Searchable Symmetric Encryption Scheme for Improving Security of Data in Connected Electronic Devices

In the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), outdoor electronic devices serve crucial roles across sectors, providing vital data for decision-making. However, their exposure to open outdoor environments makes them vulnerable to unauthorized access, physical theft, or compromise, endangering both the device and its data. Ensuring the security of outdoor devices and their data is thus critical. This study addresses data security in outdoor IIoT devices by supporting the encryption of all IIoT-related data in device memory. Accessing and retrieving this data requires operations on encrypted data. Hence, we introduce a Searchable Symmetric Encryption (SSE) scheme called MI3SE, which ensures each device's encryption key is unique and valid for a period based on the device's security sensitivity. Moreover, MI3SE meets key security requirements, including confidentiality, integrity, forward secrecy, and backward secrecy. It is specifically designed to mitigate physical compromise and query pattern analysis through a two-keyword query approach and withstand various attacks, as validated by rigorous security analysis. Comparative evaluations against benchmark schemes underscore the efficacy of MI3SE in terms of both security and performance. Moreover, comprehensive non-mathematical security analysis and simulation experiments affirm the enhanced accuracy and efficacy of MI3SE in securing sensitive data stored in outdoor IIoT devices. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

This article presents an experimental stand for the remote control of a D.C. motor used to drive a conveyor belt. This is based on two development boards Arduino Uno and two shields NRF24L01. The D. C. motor is supplied from a D.C. voltage source by means of the H type bridge. The emitter circuit sends the control signal generated through a potentiometer to the receptor circuit by means of radio waves at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. The receptor circuit receives the analogue signal emitted by the emitting circuit, transforms it into a PWM (pulse width modulation) signal and uses it for controlling the transistors of the H-bridge. For implementing and validating the remote control system of the D.C. motor two programs have been issued in the programming environment Arduino IDE for the two circuits. emitter and receptor. The remote control system of the D.C. motor has been running in the same way as the direct control of this. The remote control is used in the case of the electric actuation systems made with D.C. motors continuous used in spaces inaccessible to the human operator. © 2024 IEEE.

High performance collaborative tracking problem, requiring a group of independent subsystems to generate a global output that can precisely track the desired reference in a repetitive manner, has found lots of applications in practice. However, for such an important control task, existing iterative learning control (ILC) methods have not considered the constraint on each subsystem's output, which leads to potential risk within the control process. This paper proposes a novel optimisation based ILC method to address the high performance collaborative tracking problem with output constraints. The proposed ILC framework can guarantee not only each subsystem's output constraint is always satisfied during the control process, but also the monotonic convergence of a well-defined performance index to a possibly minimum value. To avoid huge computational complexity for large scale systems, we further apply the idea of the alternative direction method of multipliers (ADMM) to implement the proposed ILC frame-work in a decentralised manner, which allows the resulting decentralised methods to be applied to large scale and changing systems. Moreover, the decentralised ILC method proposed in this paper is suitable for non-minimum phase, heterogeneous and/or homogeneous systems, which is appealing in practice. Convergence properties of the proposed ILC algorithms are analysed rigorously, and numerical examples are given to demonstrate the algorithms' effectiveness.

By using Typhoon HIL simulator, a simulation research method of data injection attack against secondary control DC microgrid is established, which reveals the important influence of the attack function on the effectiveness and covertness of the attack. Firstly, a decentralized four-node DC microgrid system using TCP/IP Modbus protocol for communication is built in Typhoon HIL simulator, then, a microgrid security testing experimental platform based on the man-in-the-middle attack as a network attack method is built in Kali Linux system, which can carry out timed single-and multi-links data injection attacks and replay attack on the above four-node DC microgrid. The paper designs a variety of data injection attack schemes to study the impact of data injection attacks on voltage and current control in this DC microgrid, including single-link attack, multi-link composite attack, and replay attack using different attack functions. By controlling the main parameters of the attack function, the amplitude of the fluctuation of the output voltage generated by the attack can be controlled, which can produce a more covert and effective attack effect.

In this paper, we consider the analysis and control of continuous-time nonlinear systems to ensure universal shifted stability and performance, i.e., stability and performance w.r.t. each forced equilibrium point of the system. This "equilibrium-free" concept is especially beneficial for control problems that require the tracking of setpoints and rejection of persistent disturbances, such as input loads. In this paper, we show how the velocity form, i.e., the time-differentiated dynamics of the system, plays a crucial role in characterizing these properties and how the analysis of it can be solved by the application of Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) methods in a computationally efficient manner. Furthermore, by leveraging the properties of the velocity form and the LPV framework, a novel controller synthesis method is presented which ensures closed-loop universal shifted stability and performance. The proposed controller design is verified in a simulation study and also experimentally on a real system. Additionally, we compare the proposed method to a standard LPV control design, demonstrating the improved stability and performance guarantees of the new approach. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. For deploying deep neural networks on edge devices with limited resources, binary neural networks (BNNs) have attracted significant attention, due to their computational and memory efficiency. However, once a neural network is binarized, finetuning it on edge devices becomes challenging because most conventional training algorithms for BNNs are designed for use on centralized servers and require storing real-valued parameters during training. To address this limitation, this paper introduces binary stochastic flip optimization (BinSFO), a novel training algorithm for BNNs. BinSFO employs a parameter update rule based on Boolean operations, eliminating the need to store real-valued parameters and thereby reducing memory requirements and computational overhead. In experiments, we demonstrated the effectiveness and memory efficiency of BinSFO in fine-tuning scenarios on six image classification datasets. BinSFO performed comparably to conventional training algorithms with a 70.7% smaller memory requirement. Code is released at https://***/TatsukichiShibuya/ICASSP2025_BinSFO

The management of wastewater is a significant global concern that calls for innovative solutions to lessen its negative effects on the environment. Conventional techniques of treating wastewater need improvement in order to deal with newly discovered contaminants, which highlights the importance of providing precise estimates of process performance and resource requirements. The worsening water shortage situation requires a paradigm shift in which wastewater is viewed as a useful resource. It is possible to create an economy that is both sustainable and circular by treating and recycling wastewater, putting less pressure on freshwater supplies, and leaving as little of an environmental footprint as possible. This study investigates the use of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) as software estimators in the treatment of wastewater, with a particular emphasis on predicting ammonium concentrations in effluent. In order to deal with imbalanced time-series data, the research introduces innovative data pretreatment strategies. These techniques include a Sliding Window protocol, Data Normalization, and a K-Fold training scheme. This illustrates the potential of ANNs to revolutionize wastewater treatment procedures and drive developments in this field. The suggested method demonstrates higher performance when estimating pollutant concentrations, showing the ability of ANNs to do so. © 2023 IEEE.

The article presents the results of developing a mathematical model for computer simulation and study of the processes of atmospheric pollutant dispersion, taking into account various factors, including data on known emission sources, meteorological conditions, and monitoring results of pollutant concentrations at specific points in an industrial area. Gaussian and Ermak models were considered as the basic mathematical models for pollutant dispersion. The developed model has been implemented as a computer program that allows for automated simulation iterations based on actual measurements of the environmental situation and weather conditions in a specified area. Calculations and a comparative assessment of the accuracy of the proposed model were carried out using the program, and conclusions were drawn confirming its effectiveness for simulating pollutant dispersion in the atmosphere. © 2024 IEEE.
