In rehabilitation training,it is crucial to consider the compatibility between exoskeletons and human legs in ***,most exoskeletons today adopt an anthropomorphic serial structure,which results in rotational centers that are not precisely aligned with the center of the hip *** address this issue,we introduce a novel exoskeleton called the Parallel Hip Exoskeleton(PH-Exo)in this ***-Exo is meticulously designed based on the anisotropic law of output *** the friction of the drive components,a dynamic model of the human-machine complex is *** analysis demonstrates that PH-Exo not only exhibits outstanding torque performance but also achieves high controllability in both flexion/extension and adduction/abduction ***,a robust controller is designed to address model uncertainty,friction,and external *** experiments indicate that under the control of the robust controller,each motor achieves excellent tracking performance.

The systolic array (SA) architecture is widely used in accelerator/AI chip design due to its excellent matrix multiplication acceleration effect. However, the mismatch between the traditional sparse matrix compression format and the SA architecture results in poor SA performance in computing sparse matrices. To solve the problem, we propose a method for co-designing the sparse compression format and SA architecture. This work proposes the Vector Group Compressed Coordinate (VGCC) data stream compression format and designs a sparse SA architecture based on hardware encoding and decoding. VGCC can handle data streams of any size without increasing the index bit width. The VGCC compression size is significantly smaller than general sparse compression formats such as COO/CSR. In a sparse matrix with a sparsity of 90%, it saves 67.13% of storage space compared to the state-of-the-art ECOO data stream compression format and achieves an average acceleration of 1.54 times. We also propose a VGCC-friendly SA architecture. Our SA architecture engine reduces logic consumption by 51.6% compared to Sparse TPU while achieving a 3.23x speedup. To mitigate the issue of high no-load rates in systolic arrays, we introduce a Data Transmission Priority (DTP) data matching algorithm. With sparsity levels ranging from 50% to 90%, the algorithm’s calculation speed is enhanced by 1.124x to 1.991x. We implemented a sparse DNN accelerator on an FPGA Zynq UltraScale+MPSoC ZCU102, utilizing the VGCC compression format proposed in this study for compressing input data. When compared to the S2 Engine, the accelerator achieved a 3.37x speed improvement in matrix multiplication with 75% sparsity, significantly enhancing the speed of sparse matrix multiplication. This paper considers the problem of approximating the infinite-horizon value function of the discrete-time switched LQR *** particular,the authors propose a new value iteration method to generate a sequence of monotonically decreasing functions that converges exponentially to the value *** method facilitates us to use coarse approximations resulting from faster but less accurate algorithms for further value iteration,and thus,the proposed approach is capable of achieving a better approximation for a given computation time compared with the existing *** numerical examples are presented in this paper to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Space-Filling Input Design for Nonlinear State-Space Identification ⁎

The quality of a model resulting from (black-box) system identification is highly dependent on the quality of the data that is used during the identification procedure. Designing experiments for linear time-invariant systems is well understood and mainly focuses on the power spectrum of the input signal. Performing experiment design for nonlinear system identification on the other hand remains an open challenge as informativity of the data depends both on the frequency-domain content and on the time-domain evolution of the input signal. Furthermore, as nonlinear system identification is much more sensitive to modeling and extrapolation errors, having experiments that explore the considered operation range of interest is of high importance. Hence, this paper focuses on designing space-filling experiments i.e., experiments that cover the full operation range of interest, for nonlinear dynamical systems that can be represented in a state-space form using a broad set of input signals. The presented experiment design approach can straightforwardly be extended to a wider range of system classes (e.g., NARMAX). The effectiveness of the proposed approach is illustrated on the experiment design for a nonlinear mass-spring-damper system, using a multisine input signal.

An alternative end product quality control system is proposed for an industrial plant involving a sequence of distillation columns using a multivariable model predictive control (MPC) approach. The latter was realized using the MATLAB toolbox. A controllability analysis using the steady-state controllability metrics is presented and discussed to make a comparison between the currently applied and alternative control systems. Next, obtained results are verified with a closed-loop performance under the set point change. The tests show the advantage of an alternative control structure. Conclusions are drawn about the feasibility of using the proposed approach to manage the quality of the end products. © 2023 IEEE.

Battery energy storage(BES)systems can effectively meet the diversified needs of power system dispatching and assist in renewable energy *** reliability of energy storage is essential to ensure the operational safety of the power ***,BES systems are composed of battery *** suggests that BES performance depends not only on the configuration but also on the operating state over different lifetime *** lack of safety and reliability is the main bottleneck preventing widespread applications of BES ***,a reliability assessment algorithm and a weak-link analytical method for BES systems are proposed while considering battery lifetime ***,a novel lithium-ion battery model is proposed to identify the degradation rate of solid electrolyte interphase film formation and capacity *** impacts of different operating conditions are considered in stress factor ***,a reliability assessment algorithm for a BES system is introduced based on a universal generating *** innovative weak-link analytical method based on the reliability importance index is proposed that combines the evaluation results of state-oriented and state-change-oriented indexes through an entropy weight *** model,algorithm,indexes,and the usefulness are demonstrated in case studies based on aging test data and actual bus operating *** results demonstrate the effects of the battery status and working conditions on BES ***-link analysis is also used to assist BES systems in avoiding short-board batteries to achieve long lifetimes and efficient operation.
