The data in the blockchain cannot be tampered with and the users are anonymous,which enables the blockchain to be a natural carrier for covert ***,the existing methods of covert communication in blockchain suffer from the predefined channel structure,the capacity of a single transaction is not high,and the fixed transaction behaviors will lower the concealment of the communication ***,this paper proposes a derivation matrix-based covert communication method in *** uses dual-key to derive two types of blockchain addresses and then constructs an address matrix by dividing addresses into multiple layers to make full use of the redundancy of ***,to solve the problem of the lack of concealment caused by the fixed transaction behaviors,divide the rectangular matrix into square blocks with overlapping regions and then encrypt different blocks sequentially to make the transaction behaviors of the channel addresses match better with those of the real ***,the linear congruence algorithm is used to generate random sequence,which provides a random order for blocks encryption,and thus enhances the security of the encryption *** results show that this method can effectively reduce the abnormal transaction behaviors of addresses while ensuring the channel transmission efficiency.

Weakly supervised video object segmentation (WSVOS) enables the identification of segmentation maps without requiring extensive annotations of object masks, relying instead on coarse video labels indicating object presence. WSVOS in surgical videos is, however, more challenging due to the complex interaction of multiple transient objects, such as surgical tools moving in and out of the surgical field. In this scenario, state-of-the-art WSVOS methods struggle to learn accurate segmentation maps. We address this problem by introducing ViDeo Spatio-Temporal disentanglement Networks (VDST-Net), a framework to disentangle complex spatio-temporal object interactions using semi-decoupled knowledge distillation to predict high-quality class activation maps (CAMs). A teacher network is designed to help a temporal-reasoning student network resolve activation conflicts, as the student leverages temporal dependencies when specifics about object location and timing in the video are not provided. We demonstrate the efficacy of our framework on a challenging surgical video dataset where objects are, on average, present in less than 60% of annotated frames, and compare our method to state-of-the-art methods on surgical data and on a public dataset commonly used to benchmark WSVOS. Our method outperforms state-of-the-art techniques and generates accurate segmentation masks under video-level weak supervision. Our code is available at: https://***/PCASOlab/VDST-net. © 2025 IEEE.

Recommendation algorithms based on graph convolutional networks can integrate user and item node information along with their interaction topology, better capturing the intricate relationships between users and items, thereby enhancing the accuracy of recommender systems. However, existing methods often overlook the impact of noise in user behavior data on recommendation performance. Additionally, when there are too many convolutional layers in the graph, the node representations tend to smoothing, resulting in an inability to accurately distinguish user preferences. To address these issues, we propose a self-supervised graph convolutional model for recommendation with exponential moving average (SGCERec). Specifically, we first employ exponential moving average (EMA) techniques from the field of time-series analysis to denoise the raw user interaction data. Then, by applying layer filtering technique to update the propagation of information and the representation of nodes within the graph convolutional network, we effectively deepen the model hierarchy, enabling the model to gain a deeper understanding of the features and structures of the graph data, thereby improving the performance and effectiveness of the recommender systems. Finally, experimental results on three real datasets show that SGCERec outperforms state-of-the-art recommendation methods across various common evaluation metrics. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.

Diabetes Mellitus has no permanent cure to date and is one of the leading causes of death globally. The alarming increase in diabetes calls for the need to take precautionary measures to avoid/predict the occurrence of diabetes. This paper proposes HealthEdge, a machine learning-based smart healthcare framework for type 2 diabetes prediction in an integrated IoT-edge-cloud computing system. Numerical experiments and comparative analysis were carried out between the two most used machine learning algorithms in the literature, Random Forest (RF) and Logistic Regression (LR), using two real-life diabetes datasets. The results show that RF predicts diabetes with 6% more accuracy on average compared to LR. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

Ecosystems are undergoing unprecedented persistent deterioration due to unsustainable anthropogenic human activities,such as overfishing and deforestation,and the effects of such damage on ecological stability are *** recent advances in experimental and theoretical studies on regime shifts and tipping points,theoretical tools for understanding the extinction chain,which is the sequence of species extinctions resulting from overexploitation,are still lacking,especially for large-scale nonlinear networked *** this study,we developed a mathematical tool to predict regime shifts and extinction chains in ecosystems under multiple exploitation situations and verified it in 26 real-world mutualistic networks of various sizes and *** discovered five phases during the exploitation process:safe,partial extinction,bistable,tristable,and collapse,which enabled the optimal design of restoration strategies for degraded or collapsed *** validated our approach using a 20-year dataset from an eelgrass restoration ***,we also found a specific region in the diagram spanning exploitation rates and competition intensities,where exploiting more species helps increase *** computational tool provides insights into harvesting,fishing,exploitation,or deforestation plans while conserving or restoring the biodiversity of mutualistic ecosystems.

Modern SSDs achieve low latency and high throughput by utilizing multiple levels of SSD parallelism. Fairness is also a critical design consideration in cloud environments and has inspired great interest in recent years to study it. However, we find that excessive striving for SSD parallelism can inadvertently harm the SSD fairness due to the striped data layout. We observe from our experimental analysis that some common access patterns in cloud loads (e.g., high-intensity I/O) are not addressed by SSD parallelism, which can affect both SSD parallelism and fairness. In this paper, we analyze two address mapping policies with orthogonal characteristics from SSD parallelism and fairness perspectives. Based on extensive experiments and observations, we schedule a hybrid address mapping policy to achieve fairness of SSDs in cloud environments by distinguishing different I/O access modes and cold/hot data, while ensuring SSD performance. Experimental results on the latest block-level I/O traces show that our approach significantly improves performance and fairness by up to 77.3% and 62.8%, respectively, over the previous schemes with negligible cost. Meanwhile, it can also reduce the write amplification by 23.5% to 33.5%. © 2024 IEEE.

5G communications systems offer several types of service groups include enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC), and massive machine-type communications (mMTC). The ability to meet various mobile communications requirements of different users is ensured by these service groups. In this paper, a novel service type priority decision method is proposed for 5G and beyond (5GB) systems to determine the most needed service group under a specific region. This approach is useful for the resource allocation planning and optimization through a coverage region. The proposed method is based on the machine learning (ML) usage with several ambient information. Instance-based and model-based techniques are compared for ML. Also, the ensemble methods are tested on the generated synthetic dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

This article supplies a proposed approach Neuro Fuzzy Controller (NFC)-Adaptive Backstepping Controller (ABC)-Space Vector Modulation (SVM) for a five-level NPC inverter-Double Stator Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (DSIPMSM). This paper's primary objective is to enhance DSIPMSM's performance by the use of strong control using the proposed approach. Given its benefits - including high torque density, high efficiency, high power density, and minimal maintenance - DSIPMSM, have recently been the focus of much research. Using the input-output linearization approach and Lyapunov stability theory, asymptotically stable trajectory-following dynamics are demonstrated using nonlinear adaptive backstepping control. The use of fuzzy logic and intelligence-based controllers are increasingly being used to enhance traditional control's performance and output. In addition, the fuzzy logic controller has a lot of flaws that are presently being fixed by the extremely effective NFC tool. The proposed method's worth was demonstrated by the simulation results in terms of durability, effective tracking dynamics, precision, and good disturbance rejection with little ripple. © 2024 IEEE.

Compared with traditional voting methods, electronic voting can effectively avoid the phenomenon of fraud for personal gains in various links, it is faster and more accurate in the tallying stage. However, many electronic voting systems have many problems such as inability to verify ballots, easy to be forged, and low computing efficiency. We propose an electronic voting protocol based on homomorphic signcryption and blockchain. The protocol makes the voting process public through blockchain and replaces the traditional trusted third party with the smart contract. It uses the homomorphic encryption algorithm and the homomorphic signcryption algorithm to encrypt and sign the ballot and uses their aggregation properties to perform homomorphic tally on the encrypted votes. This not only reduces the excessive burden on the voters but also improves the voting efficiency. At the same time, it can satisfy the security of electronic voting, and the amount of calculation is small, so it is more convenient and flexible to use in large-scale voting. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
