Existing face forgery detection methods achieve promising performance when training and testing forgery data are from identical manipulation types, while they fail to generalize well to unseen samples. In this paper, we experimentally investigate and find that the poor generalization of the methods mainly arises from their overfitting on the known fake patterns. Excessively focused on seen fakes, those detectors fail to effectively learn image-intrinsic information and the distributional disparity between real and fake images. Then, to address this issue, we redefine fake learning as real-fake distributional disparity learning. We propose a novel deepfake detection framework learning distributional disparity based on the differentiated reconstruction on real and fake images for improved generalization. Specifically, distributional disparity learning on differentiated reconstruction of the real and fake images, enforces the model to learn image-invariant intrinsic representations. The reconstruction on real and fake images forces the decoders to learn the distribution of real and fake images, respectively. Moreover, to avoid the influence from the specificalization of the known fake patterns, we further propose the information interaction learning on the encoded intrinsic information and the pixel disparity between the input image and its reconstruction to distinguish face forgeries that are even unknown. Extensive experiments on large-scale benchmark datasets demonstrated the effectiveness of addressing the overfitting issue of the classification network, and verified the superior performance of our method. The rapid development of the Internet has revo-lutionized our lives, providing us with an array of convenient services. However, this revolution has also led to the problem of data overload. Personalized recommendation services have been widely recognized as an effective solution to this problem by both the industrial and academic communities. Accurate prediction of click-through rate (CTR) is a critical task in personalized recommendation systems since it can improve the user's shopping experience, ultimately increasing revenue for the platform. To achieve accurate CTR prediction, it is crucial to capture user interests. While several methods for interest modeling exist, challenges related to user interest evolution and user behavior noise need further attention. This paper proposes a novel CTR prediction model named the Evolutionary Interest Representation Network (EIRN), which learns the evolving interest representation of users from their behaviors, profiles, and environmental attributes. In the model, we introduce an advertisement correlation graph decomposition layer and a noise filter layer to enhance and purify the user behavior representation. An interest extraction layer is designed to capture sequential correlations and common characteristics between user behaviors, representing their interests. Additionally, as user interests evolve over time and their importance changes, an attention-based interest evolution layer is designed to track the evolution of user interests. Our proposed method is validated using four public datasets and an industrial dataset, showing its superiority over existing CTR prediction methods. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, the problem of collaborative vehicle sensing is investigated. In the considered model, a set of cooperative vehicles provide sensing information to sensing request vehicles with limited sensing and communication resources. A base station (BS) determines the subset of sensing request vehicles that each cooperative vehicle will serve and the sub-regions that each cooperative vehicle will detect. We formulate an optimization problem aiming to maximize the number of successfully detected sub-regions of sensing request vehicles while satisfying the cooperative sensing energy requirement by jointly determining the cooperative vehicle association and the sensing sub-region selection. To solve this problem, we propose a graph attention based reinforcement learning (RL) algorithm that can generate the graph information vectors based on the correlation between each cooperative vehicle and each sensing request vehicle. Using the learned graph information, the joint cooperative vehicle association and sensing sub-region selection strategy will be determined. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can improve the number of successfully detected sub-regions of sensing request vehicles by up to 12.5% compared to the conventional RL algorithm without using graph attention networks (GANs). © 2024 IEEE.

Increasing bus frequency to fulfill the performance requirements of dependable applications may increase the susceptibility of the system to transient faults. This paper describes an integration of protection against transient bus faults into the interface of the Hardisc RISC-V core. The protection is based on information redundancy with spatial redundancy features. It enables uninterrupted execution in the presence of transient faults and provides a hardware-software interface for its reporting. The benchmarking results indicate that most of the applications will be impacted minimally. The protection has a negligible impact on the maximal frequency and 8% area and power consumption overhead.

Mission/safety-critical applications rely on the dependability of their semiconductor control systems. The lockstepping is state-of-the-art when it comes to their protection. This paper compares the dual/triple lockstep systems with the Hardisc, which features microarchitecture-level protection. For a fair comparison, each system is based on the same architecture and integrates protection against bit-flips in memory and transient faults in the bus. We analyse how individual structures of the system affect the vulnerability of a system to faults. Our fault injection methodology combines pre-synthesis simulation with synthesis data to scale the fault rate of the structures according to their size. The results show that the Hardisc can withstand fault rates orders of magnitude higher than the dual-core lockstep system while preserving the same area and power consumption. It comes with a 5% frequency penalty. The pipeline logic has the most significant impact on the vulnerability of the lockstep system. On the other hand, the ECC-protected register file constraints the maximum failure rate the Hardisc can withstand due to fault accumulation during specific program sections.

Safety/mission-critical applications require high dependability of the control systems. Their state-of-the-art protection approach is a system-level lockstep. This paper compares the system-level dual and triple lockstep technique to the microarchitecture-level protection of the Hardisc RISC-V core. For a fair comparison, each system is based on the same core(s) and integrates protection against bit-flips in memory and transient faults in the bus. We propose a fault injection methodology, combining pre-synthesis simulation with synthesis data to analyse the vulnerability of a system to faults. The fault injection campaigns show that the Hardisc can withstand fault rates orders of magnitude higher than the dual-core lockstep system while preserving the same area and power consumption. It comes with a 5% frequency penalty. We have shown that system failures are more frequent once the fault rate reaches an application-specific threshold (one fault in 100 clock cycles).

Accurately synthesizing talking face videos and capturing fine facial features for individuals with long hair presents a significant challenge. To tackle these challenges in existing methods, we propose a decomposed per-embedding Gaussian fields (DEGSTalk), a 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS)-based talking face synthesis method for generating realistic talking faces with long hairs. Our DEGSTalk employs Deformable Pre-Embedding Gaussian Fields, which dynamically adjust pre-embedding Gaussian primitives using implicit expression coefficients. This enables precise capture of dynamic facial regions and subtle expressions. Additionally, we propose a Dynamic Hair-Preserving Portrait Rendering technique to enhance the realism of long hair motions in the synthesized videos. Results show that DEGSTalk achieves improved realism and synthesis quality compared to existing approaches, particularly in handling complex facial dynamics and hair preservation. Semen quality assessment is a very important tool for the timely detection and treatment of infertility disorders. Many artificial intelligence methods for sperm image analysis have emerged in recent years. Sperm detection in sperm microscopy is the first step in semen quality assessment. However, the acquisition of sperm electron microscopy images can produce a variety of different background lighting situations. The performance of established methods is susceptible to changes in background illumination. Therefore, a sperm detection method with heterogeneous Laplacian distribution noise background modeling (HLDNBM) is proposed. In this paper the method uses background illumination surface fitting to eliminate the effect of illumination in a single sperm image, and realizes the segmentation of sperm head and sperm tail with different grayscale by upper and lower segmentation threshold surfaces to achieve complete sperm image segmentation and multi-target detection in a single image. This method effectively avoids the degradation of target detection performance caused by sudden changes in illumination in other background modeling methods. Moreover, this method shows strong adaptability for images with different lighting backgrounds, and is friendly to small datasets as well. The experimental results show that the accuracy and sensitivity of the algorithm for sperm detection in images with different grayscale characteristics are very promising, with high universality and robustness. © 2023 IEEE.

Instant delivery has become a fundamental service in people's daily lives. Different from the traditional express service, the instant delivery has a strict shipping time constraint after being ordered. However, the labor shortage makes it challenging to realize efficient instant delivery. To tackle the problem, researchers have studied to introduce vehicles (i.e., taxis) or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs or drones) into instant delivery tasks. Unfortunately, the delivery detour of taxis and the limited battery of UAVs make it hard to meet the rapidly increasing instant delivery demands. Under this circumstance, this paper proposes an air-ground cooperative instant delivery paradigm to maximize the delivery performance and meanwhile minimize the negative effects on the taxi passengers. Specifically, a data-driven delivery potential-demands-aware cooperative strategy is designed to improve the overall delivery performance of both UAVs and taxis as well as the taxi passengers' experience. The experimental results show that the proposed method improves the delivery number by 30.1% and 114.5% compared to the taxi-based and UAV-based instant delivery respectively, and shortens the delivery time by 35.7% compared to the taxi-based instant delivery. © 2024 IEEE.
