The notion of a metaverse seems hard to define but encourages the impression that it can be considered as a new virtual metaphysical landscape that somehow goes beyond our geographical locations and understanding (i.e., independent of time and space). Based on virtual reality, augmented reality, and blockchain, it is envisioned as an independent but extended world that is planned to be a digital virtuality entrenched not only in our old habits such as gaming and entertainment but also in virtual asset trade. In particular, trading is a pillar of the virtual economy, and auction houses will be crucial for Metaverse trading. This exploratory study examines the possibility of using an auction environment to improve the trading capabilities in a virtual universe. We investigate the cases of creating a virtual auction house with the potential of social trading of virtual assets with crypto coins and bartering. To this end, we built a virtual auction house and tested it initially using a set of scenarios. Our preliminary findings suggest that creating a virtual trading environment would be beneficial as an environment for buying and selling virtual assets and exploring their consequences. © 2022, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

An approach to substantiating the choice of a discipline for the maintenance of a redundant computer system, with the possible use of node resources saved after failures, is considered. The choice is aimed at improving the reliability and profitability of the system, taking into account the operational costs of restoring nodes. Models of reliability of systems with service disciplines are proposed, providing both the possibility of immediate recovery of nodes after failures, and allowing degradation of the system when using node resources stored after failures in it. The models take into account the conditions of the admissibility or inadmissibility of the loss of information accumulated during the operation of the system. The operating costs are determined, taking into account the costs of restoring nodes for the system maintenance disciplines under consideration © 2022 IEEE.

S-Faster R-CNN: Intra-Spectral Similarity Learning for Audio Copy-Move Forgery Localization in IoT Security

In the Internet of Audio Things, communication security of the audio control terminal is vulnerable to copy-move threats, and detecting and locating audio copy-move forgery remains challenging nowadays. The forgery detection method based on deep learning achieves higher detection accuracy but fails to localize forged regions. To address this issue, this article proposes an S-Faster R-CNN model for audio copy-move forgery detection and localization. We integrate a novel Similarity Computation Module (SCM) into the Faster R-CNN framework, forming the S-Faster R-CNN model. Obtaining the integration of the SCM, which allows the S-Faster R-CNN to precisely localize forgery regions within the spectrogram. Finally, the image coordinate transformation algorithm is used to map these forged regions to the corresponding locations of the original audio waveform, thus completing the audio copy-move forgery detection and localization. Evaluated on three datasets, our method achieves an average recall of 90%, an average precision of 84%, and an average F1-score of 87%, respectively. Experimental results indicate that the S-Faster R-CNN outperforms state-of-the-art methods in both forgery detection accuracy and especially in localization. Moreover, the proposed method shows good robustness under multiple post-processing. © 2014 IEEE.

Content delivery networks(CDNs) play a pivotal role in the modern internet infrastructure by enabling efficient content delivery across diverse geographical regions. As an essential component of CDNs, the edge caching scheme directly influences the user experience by determining the caching and eviction of content on edge servers. With the emergence of 5G technology, traditional caching schemes have faced challenges in adapting to increasingly complex and dynamic network environments. Consequently, deep reinforcement learning(DRL) offers a promising solution for intelligent zero-touch network governance. However, the blackbox nature of DRL models poses challenges in understanding and making trusting decisions. In this paper,we propose an explainable reinforcement learning(XRL)-based intelligent edge service caching approach,namely XRL-SHAP-Cache, which combines DRL with an explainable artificial intelligence(XAI) technique for cache management in CDNs. Instead of focusing solely on achieving performance gains, this study introduces a novel paradigm for providing interpretable caching strategies, thereby establishing a foundation for future transparent and trustworthy edge caching solutions. Specifically, a multi-level cache scheduling framework for CDNs was formulated theoretically, with the D3QN-based caching scheme serving as the targeted interpretable model. Subsequently, by integrating Deep-SHAP into our framework, the contribution of each state input feature to the agent's Q-value output was calculated, thereby providing valuable insights into the decision-making process. Urban congestion has been a known problem since the first urban revolution throughout the world. Today's major metropolises are synonymous with traffic congestion and complicated urban circulation. This paper introduces a traffic management system based on agent technology and deep learning model. It acts on the phase layouts constituted of sequences and length to reduce average delay time, maximize intersection throughput, and suggest a routing planning scheme to avoid congested intersection. In the optimization model, lights of each intersection are controlled by a group of agents. The system uptake the ability of the agent to communicate, coordinate and collaborate, to decompose the routing process into decentralized architecture. The proposed model was instantiated in the ANYLOGIC simulator. © 2022 IEEE.

The Plasmodium parasite, which causes malaria, is an acute fever illness that infects people when a female Anopheles mosquito bites them. It is predicted that malaria would claim 619,000 lives in 2021, with 96% of those deaths occurring in the African continent. We can achieve this by using a microscope to examine thick and thin blood smears. The proficiency of a microscope examiner is crucial for doing microscopic examinations. Consider how time-consuming, ineffective, and costly it would be to examine thousands of malaria cases. Consequently, Creating an automated method for detecting malaria parasites is the aim of this study. We employ a MobileNetV2 pretrained model with CNN technology. Because it has been trained on dozens or even millions of data points, this pretrained model is incredibly light but dependable. There are two main benefits of automatic malaria parasite detection: firstly, it can offer a more accurate diagnosis, particularly in locations with limited resources; secondly, it lowers diagnostic expenses. The optimizer utilizes Adam Weight, the criteria uses NLLLoss, and the model is trained using 32 for batch_size. In the fourteenth epoch, we obtained the maximum accuracy score of 96.26% based on the training data. The outcomes of the predictions demonstrate how excellent this score is. EfficienceNet, DenseNet, AlexNet, and other pretrained models are among the alternatives that scientists are advised to try training with.

Privacy-Preserving Multi-Task Online Matching in Mobile Crowdsensing: A Snapshot-Based Approach

With the growing popularity of Mobile Crowdsensing (MCS), online matching has recently attracted considerable attention. However, most previous schemes focused on single-task matching, which limits their practicality in new MCS applications that require multi-task matching. Moreover, most MCS tasks require workers to share locations with the platform, which poses serious privacy concerns. To address this issue, we propose a privacy-preserving multi-task online matching algorithm in a snapshot-based mode (PMS). Specifically, the entire time period is divided into snapshots to reduce the waiting time for newly arrived tasks to be matched. In each snapshot, the planar Laplace-based privacy mechanism is applied to protect worker locations and ensure Ε-geo-indistinguishability. Meanwhile, the Minimum-Cost Maximum-Flow (MCMF)-based multi-task matching mechanism is presented to maximize the task completion rate while minimizing the total travel cost. Experiments on real-world datasets demonstrate that PMS achieves superior task completion, reduced travel costs, and improved privacy preservation compared to existing algorithms. © 2014 IEEE.

This paper investigates the covert communication in a satellite-terrestrial system, including a satellite transmitter Alice, a terrestrial full-duplex receiver Bob and a terrestrial warden Willie. To help the covert transmission from Alice, the full-duplex Bob transmits the jamming signal to confuse Willie and also receives the signal from Alice simultaneously. To explore the fundamental covertness in such a system, we first provide theoretical modelings for satellite-terrestrial downlink, and the detection error probability of Willie. Based on these models, we then study the transmit power optimization for covert rate maximization. Finally, we present extensive numerical results to validate our theoretical analysis and to illustrate the impact of various system parameters on the maximum covert rate. © 2024 IEEE.
