Wearable health monitoring is a crucial technical tool that offers early warning for chronic diseases due to its superior portability and low power ***,most wearable health data is distributed across dfferent organizations,such as hospitals,research institutes,and companies,and can only be accessed by the owners of the data in compliance with data privacy *** first challenge addressed in this paper is communicating in a privacy-preserving manner among different *** second technical challenge is handling the dynamic expansion of the federation without model *** address the first challenge,we propose a horizontal federated learning method called Federated Extremely Random Forest(FedERF).Its contribution-based splitting score computing mechanism significantly mitigates the impact of privacy protection constraints on model *** on FedERF,we present a federated incremental learning method called Federated Incremental Extremely Random Forest(FedIERF)to address the second technical *** introduces a hardness-driven weighting mechanism and an importance-based updating scheme to update the existing federated model *** experiments show that FedERF achieves comparable performance with non-federated methods,and FedIERF effectively addresses the dynamic expansion of the *** opens up opportunities for cooperation between different organizations in wearable health monitoring.

Short video platforms have become an essential part of people's daily lives, while also facing the challenge of the rapid spread of fake news. Therefore, the detection of fake news in short videos has attracted increasing attention. Existing works mostly focus on the integration of textual and visual content, but fail to fully exploit multi-modal information at both fine-grained and coarse-grained levels. Moreover, multi-modal fake news detection is vulnerable to modality ambiguity due to potential conflicts or weak correlations between different modalities. In this paper, we propose a Multi-grained and Multi-modal fusion for Short video Fake news Detection (MMSFD). We encode textual and visual content using pre-trained models at both fine-grained and coarse-grained levels and fuse them through distinct branches. To tackle the ambiguity issue, we design a multi-modal fusion branch based on similarity weighting, as well as separate single-modal branches. Additionally, this paper presents a cross-modal attention mechanism for adaptively aggregating and reweighting features. The experimental results on a real-world short video dataset demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art short video fake news detection methods. © 2024 IEEE.

The proliferation of the Internet and the emergence of social media platforms have greatly accelerated the speed and scope of information dissemination, while also introducing the peril of fake news propagation, particularly in political, economic, health, and other domains. Many scholars have conducted research on fake news detection, and most of this research focuses on domain-specific single-domain fake news detection or mixed-domain detection without considering domain information. Most existing multi-domain fake news detection approaches model the domains of fake news implicitly and do not pay attention to the domain seesaw phenomenon. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a Star Topology Multi-Domain Fake News Detection Model (StarMFND), which explicitly models the domains of fake news using a star topology, and simultaneously leverages the data from all the domains to obtain the common and specific features associated with fake news across different domains. Experiments on Chinese and English datasets demonstrated the good performance of StarMFND for multi-domain fake news detection. © 2024 IEEE.

Multi-party privacy-preserving decision tree training with a privileged party

Currently, a decision tree is the most commonly used data mining algorithm for classification tasks. While a significant number of studies have investigated privacy-preserving decision trees, the methods proposed in these studies often have shortcomings in terms of data privacy breach or efficiency. Additionally,these methods typically only apply to symmetric frameworks, which consist of two or more parties with equal privilege, and are not suitable for asymmetric scenarios where parties have unequal privilege. In this paper,we propose SecureCART, a three-party privacy-preserving decision tree training scheme with a privileged party. We adopt the existing pMPL framework and design novel secure interactive protocols for division,comparison, and asymmetric multiplication. Compared to similar schemes, our division protocol is 93.5–560.4× faster, with the communication overhead reduced by over 90%; further, our multiplication protocol is approximately 1.5× faster, with the communication overhead reduced by around 20%. Our comparison protocol based on function secret sharing maintains good performance when adapted to pMPL. Based on the proposed secure protocols, we implement SecureCART in C++ and analyze its performance using three real-world datasets in both LAN and WAN environments. he experimental results indicate that SecureCART is significantly faster than similar schemes proposed in past studies, and that the loss of accuracy while using SecureCART remains within an acceptable range.

Slot filling and intent detection are two highly correlated tasks in spoken language understanding (SLU). Recent SLU research attempts to explore zero-shot prompting techniques in large language models to alleviate the data scarcity problem. Nevertheless, the existing prompting work ignores the cross-task interaction information for SLU, which leads to sub-optimal performance. To solve this problem, we present the pioneering work of Cross-task Interactive Prompting (CroPrompt) for SLU, which enables the model to interactively leverage the information exchange across the correlated tasks in SLU. Additionally, we further introduce a multi-task self-consistency mechanism to mitigate the error propagation caused by the intent information injection. We conduct extensive experiments on the standard SLU benchmark and the results reveal that CroPrompt consistently outperforms the existing prompting approaches. In addition, the multi-task self-consistency mechanism can effectively ease the error propagation issue, thereby enhancing the performance. We hope this work can inspire more research on cross-task prompting for SLU. © 2025 IEEE.

For voice activity detection (VAD), recent works focus on learning the attention distribution on contextual information of speech to reduce the impact of irrelevant noise. However, contextual frames selected with specific steps may not be relevant, and these attention mechanisms can not fully discover the structure and characteristics of speech. In this paper, we explore a self-attention-inspired locality-sensitive hashing algorithm (SALSH) for dynamic and efficient contextual frame selection to enrich the frame-level features into a 2D partial spectrogram. Then, we propose a residual frequency-temporal attention model (FTAM) for VAD, consisting of an interval branch, an analogous hourglass structure with channel attention, and an attention learning mechanism for speech based on frequency-temporal attention. On the LibriSpeech and TIMIT datasets, the proposed method outperforms the others in terms of area under the curve (AUC), even under extremely low signal-to-noise ratio of -15dB. © 2024 International Speech Communication Association. 3D medical image segmentation is an essential task in the medical image field, which aims to segment organs or tumours into different labels. A number of issues exist with the current 3D medical image segmentation task: existing models cannot simultaneously obtain the space correlation and depth correlation of 3D slices;previous models suffer from local detail loss of positional embedding in 3D images;previous approaches often have blurring of boundaries in segmenting 3D images. To solve these shortcomings, we propose a 3D medical image segmentation model named TPM-SAM. In our model, we design a twinchannel image encoder to simultaneously capture the space correlation and depth correlation of 3D slices through a multi-head attention mechanism and improved adapters. Furthermore, we design a prompt encoding generator, which divides the volumetric image into small blocks and better captures the local detail information. In addition, we introduce a multi-layer aggregation decoder by employing U-Net with multi-level skip connection to solve the blurring of boundaries in processing 3D images. Finally, we experimented and evaluated our model on KiTS21 and LiTS17 datasets to compare with other baseline models. © 2024 IEEE.

To address the challenges associated with insufficiently extracting and utilizing features at different levels, overlooking the connection between label meanings and text, and facing problems of over-compression or information loss when extracting global information using recurrent neural networks in the field of multi-label text categorization, this paper introduces an innovative model known as MFFLEN (MultiFeature Fusion and Label Embedding Neural network). First, a back-translated enhanced label set is constructed by back-translated splicing enhancement of the original label set. This set, together with the text, is then input into the embedding layer, which consists of the pre-trained model of bert-baseChinese, thus establishing the initial connection between the text and the labels within the same vector space. Then, to comprehensively extract multi-level semantic features, the model uses a convolutional layer to extract local features and an embedding layer to extract sentence-level features. A bidirectional attention embedded GRU (BAE-GRU) layer is used to extract hybrid finegrained features, which are then fed into the attention layer to further extract hybrid labeled features based on labeling information. Finally, these three different types of features are fused and multi-label text classification results are obtained using a classifier. The experiments proved that the MFFLEN model achieved 73.82% and 88.44% macro-F1 and 88.00% and 88.86% micro-F1 on the two datasets CAIL 2018 Small and CAIL 2018 Split, respectively, which is better than other baseline models. © 2024 IEEE.

In the process of large-scale industrial production, complex defects of different shapes and sizes can occur in industrial products and their components, and these defects seriously affect the performance of industrial products and their components, and being able to quickly and accurately identify defective industrial products and their components is an important task. Memory-based methods are usually used for anomaly detection, and these methods often rely on pre-trained models for feature extraction, but have high requirements on feature quality. In addition, patch-based methods mainly focus on local differences in feature embedding when detecting anomalies without explicitly exploiting broader contextual information, thus greatly affecting the robustness and accuracy of anomaly detection. Aiming at the above problems and requirements, this paper proposes a Feature Aggregation network for Memory-Based Industrial Anomaly Detection (FANet), which is based on the pre-extraction of anomalous features, attentional attention to key features, information aggregation of multi-level and multi-scale features, and the FANet provides advanced performance in industrial image anomaly detection and localisation by pre-extraction of anomalous features, attentional attention to key features, information aggregation of multi-layered and multi-scale features, and introduction of environmental information in the anomaly score computation to perform industrial anomaly detection tasks, and using core set subsampling to reduce storage requirements. On the MVTec AD, FANet has an image-level AUROC score of 99.1% and a pixel-level AUROC score of 98.2%. Similarly high detection results were achieved on the ViSA dataset, further demonstrating the robustness of FANet. © 2024 IEEE.

Vehicular Social networks (VSNs) rely on data shared by users to provide convenient services. Data is outsourced to the cloud server and the distributed roadside unit in VSNs. However, roadside unit has limited resources, so that data sharing process is inefficient and is vulnerable to security threats, such as illegal access, tampering attack and collusion attack. In this article, to overcome the shortcomings of security, we define a chain tolerance semi-trusted model to describe the credibility of distributed group based on the anti tampering feature of blockchain. We further propose a Blockchain-based Lightweight Access Control scheme in VSNs that resist tampering and collusion attacks, called BLAC. To overcome the shortcomings of efficiency, we design a ciphertext piece storage algorithm and a recovery one to achieve lightweight storage cost. In the decryption operation, we separate a pre-decryption algorithm based on outsourcing to achieve lightweight decryption computation cost on the user side. Finally, we present the formal security analyses and the simulation experiments for BLAC, and compare the results of experiments with existing relevant schemes. The security analyses show that our scheme is secure, and the results of experiments show that our scheme is lightweight and practical. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
