Realizing Generalized Zero-Shot Learning (GZSL) based on large models is emerging as a prevailing trend. However, most existing methods merely regard large models as black boxes, solely leveraging the features output by the final layer while disregarding potential performance enhancements from other layers. Indeed, numerous researchers have visually depicted variations in the features learned across different layers of neural networks. Motivated by this observation, we propose a Vision Transformer (ViT)-based GZSL method named Depth-Aware Multi-Modal ViT (DAM2ViT), which exploits multi-level features of ViT. DAM2ViT incorporates a multi-modal interaction block to align semantic information of categories across multiple layers, thereby augmenting the model's capacity to learn associations between visual and semantic spaces. Extensive experiments conducted on three benchmark datasets (i.e., CUB, SUN, AWA2) have showcased that DAM2ViT achieves competitive results compared to state-of-the-art methods.

This paper studies the problem of secure state estimation of a linear time-invariant (LTI) system with bounded noise in the presence of sparse attacks on an unknown, time-varying set of sensors. In other words, at each time, the attacker has the freedom to choose an arbitrary set of no more that p sensors and manipulate their measurements without restraint. To this end, we propose a secure state estimation scheme and guarantee a bounded estimation error subject to 2p-sparse observability and a mild, technical assumption that the system matrix has no degenerate eigenvalues. The proposed scheme comprises a design of decentralized observer for each sensor based on the local observable subspace decomposition. At each time step, the local estimates of sensors are fused by a median operator to obtain a secure estimation, which is then followed by a local detection-and-resetting process of the decentralized observers. The estimation error is shown to be upper-bounded by a constant which is determined only by the system parameters and noise magnitudes. Moreover, we design the detector threshold to ensure that the benign sensors never trigger the detector. The efficacy of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by its application on a benchmark example of IEEE 14-bus system. © 2022, CC BY-NC-ND.

We study how to jointly recover the community structure and estimate the interaction probabilities of gossip opinion dynamics. In this process, agents randomly interact pairwise, and there are stubborn agents never changing their states. Such a model illustrates how disagreement and opinion fluctuation arise in a social network. It is assumed that each agent is assigned with one of two community labels, and the agents interact with probabilities depending on their labels. The considered problem is to jointly recover the community labels of the agents and estimate interaction probabilities between the agents, based on a single trajectory of the model. We first study stability and limit theorems of the model, and then propose a joint recovery and estimation algorithm based on a trajectory. It is verified that the community recovery can be achieved in finite time, and the interaction estimator converges almost surely. We derive a sample-complexity result for the recovery, and analyze the estimator’s convergence rate. This paper considers distributed nonconvex optimization with the cost functions being distributed over agents. Noting that information compression is a key tool to reduce the heavy communication load for distributed algorithms as agents iteratively communicate with neighbors, we propose three distributed primal–dual algorithms with compressed communication. The first two algorithms are applicable to a general class of compressors with bounded relative compression error and the third algorithm is suitable for two general classes of compressors with bounded absolute compression error. We show that the proposed distributed algorithms with compressed communication have comparable convergence properties as state-of-the-art algorithms with exact communication. Specifically, we show that they can find first-order stationary points with sublinear convergence rate O(1/T) when each local cost function is smooth, where T is the total number of iterations, and find global optima with linear convergence rate under an additional condition that the global cost function satisfies the Polyak–Lojasiewicz condition. The paper deals with the setting where two viruses (say virus 1 and virus 2) coexist in a population, and they are not necessarily mutually exclusive, in the sense that infection due to one virus does not preclude the possibility of simultaneous infection due to the other. We develop a coupled bi-virus susceptible-infected-susceptible (SIS) model from a 4n-state Markov process, where n is the number of agents (i.e., individuals or subpopulation) in the population. We identify a sufficient condition for both viruses to eventually die out, and a sufficient condition for the existence, uniqueness and asymptotic stability of the endemic equilibrium of each virus. We establish a sufficient condition and multiple necessary conditions for local exponential convergence to the boundary equilibrium (i.e., one virus persists, the other one dies out) of each virus. Under mild assumptions on the healing rate, we show that there cannot exist a coexisting equilibrium where for each node there is a nonzero fraction infected only by virus 1;a nonzero fraction infected only by virus 2;but no fraction that is infected by both viruses 1 and 2. Likewise, assuming that healing rates are strictly positive, a coexisting equilibrium where for each node there is a nonzero fraction infected by both viruses 1 and 2, but no fraction is infected only by virus 1 (resp. virus 2) does not exist. Further, we provide a necessary condition for the existence of certain other kinds of coexisting equilibria. We show that, unlike the competitive bivirus model, the coupled bivirus model is not monotone. Finally, we illustrate our theoretical findings using an extensive set of simulations. © 2022, CC0.

With the impact of African swine fever, the survival rate of domestic pigs has sharply decreased, and pork prices continue to rise. Many unscrupulous elements obtain illegal profits by avoiding inspection and quarantine, processing sick and dead pigs, and injecting water, etc. Unquarantined meat products pose serious food safety risks. In this context, we propose a machine learning based risk identification method for illegal slaughter of live pigs. Firstly, we use the RetinaNet algorithm to detect live pig transport vehicles and use a dual residual network to Super-Resolution the vehicle area in the detected image to improve facial clarity. Subsequently, the ArcFace algorithm is used to match the facial information with the ex-convicts, and finally, the Location of vehicles passing through, time, frequency and facial analysis results are combined for calculation and scoring and provide the risk warning for illegal slaughter of live pigs.

This paper presents a novel approach for head tracking in augmented reality (AR) flight simulators using an adaptive fusion of Kalman and particle filters. This fusion dynamically balances the strengths of both algorithms, leveraging Kalman filters for computational efficiency and particle filters for handling non-linearities based on real-time factors such as sensor noise and head movement patterns. Our method demonstrates superior tracking precision and reduced latency, making it particularly effective for immersive pilot training in AR-based flight simulations. While focused on flight simulation, our approach holds high potential for broader applications in other AR and virtual reality (VR) environments where precise, real-time head tracking is crucial. These results provide actionable design guidance for developers optimizing tracking systems in environments that require fast response times and high accuracy. Future extensions of this research could explore the generalization of our approach across diverse AR applications, including human-computer interaction (HCI), medical simulations, and gaming. © 1968-2012 IEEE.

The knowledge of solar greenhouse growers on environment control plays an important role in greenhouse production and management. We proposed a way to extract the control strategies from the monitored data of greenhouses by building a long short-term memory (LSTM) model. The result is verified according to the real monitored data of a solar greenhouse, which shows that the model can learn the control strategy of a ventilator in the solar greenhouse. Through monitored data and models, the knowledge of greenhouse ventilation control can be learned, and automatic control can be achieved in a greenhouse with a similar configuration.

This paper presents an unified control strategy based on the trajectory planning and tracking control for the planar 2-Do F underactuated manipulator. The trajectory of the active link is composed of two parts. The first part trajectories are designed according to the initial and target angles of the active link. The second part trajectories are designed based on the constraints between the underactuated link and the active link. Meanwhile, the parameters of the trajectories are optimized by the differential evolution algorithm(DEA) to ensure all links eventually reach to their target values by tracking the designed trajectories. Then,the sliding mode variable structure controller are designed to make the active link track their trajectories. The effectiveness of such strategy is demonstrated through simulation results.
