This paper investigates the high-speed train rescheduling (HSTR) problem under a partial station blockage and proposes an efficient problem-specific strengthen elitist genetic algorithm (PS-SEGA) for HSTR. An HSTR model that is subject to train operation constraints is established to minimize the total train delay. The PS-SEGA framework consists of the following main steps. Firstly, a permutation-based encoding method is developed to define an efficient search space based on a train departure sequence. A decoding method is employed to output the rescheduled timetable and objective value based on the departure sequence. Moreover, a hybrid initialization method involving an efficient heuristic strategy (EHS) is put forward to accelerate the convergence speed of Evolutionary algorithms (EAs). Using problem-specific knowledge, EHS generates an efficient and feasible solution for the initial population. Finally, a restart strategy is presented to maintain genetic diversity. Compared with other advanced EAs and their improved variants also using the PS-SEGA framework, experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed PS-SEGA for addressing HSTR scenarios under the partial station blockage. As for the scenarios that CPLEX can not obtain optimal solutions within 10 minutes, PS-SEGA can all provide quasi-optimal solutions in real-time. Furthermore, compared with the other two strategies (i.e., First-Scheduled-First-Served and EHS), PS-SEGA can find the best departure sequence that can output the timetable with a quasi-optimal solution. © 2023, The Authors. Improved fast model migration method for centrifugal compressor based on bayesian algorithm and Gaussian process model

Design and operation optimization of centrifugal compressor are always based on an accurate prediction model, however, due to the short time operation and lack of data information, it is difficult to get an accurate prediction model of a new centrifugal compressor in time. This paper applies an improved fast model migration method(FMM method) to develop the model of the new centrifugal compressor. The method adapts a Gaussian process(GP) model from an old centrifugal compressor to fit a new and similar centrifugal compressor, and the adaptation is conducted by a scale-bias adjustment migration technology. In order to obtain the better estimated parameters of migration, Bayesian method, which takes the prior knowledge into consideration, is used in the sequential experiment. The approach is validated by a specific simulation bench. The results indicate that the applied approach can achieve a better prediction precision with fewer data of the new centrifugal compressor compared to pure GP method, and can model the new centrifugal compressor rapidly.

The problem of stability analysis and anti-windup design is investigated for a class of switched linear systems subject to actuator saturation by using the common Lyapunov function method. Suppose that a group of dynamic output controllers have been designed and they can stabilize the closed-loop system in the absence of saturation. Then, the anti-windup compensators are designed, which aims for enlarging the domain of attraction of system with saturation. Finally, the anti-windup compensators are calculated by solving an optimization problem with linear matrix inequalities（LMI） constraints. A numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of proposed method.

Internal short circuit fault diagnosis for automotive lithium-ion batteries using an adaptive parameter identification model

This paper develops a model-based diagnostic method for internal short circuit (ISC) faults in lithium-ion batteries. This method utilizes a second-order equivalent circuit model (ECM) combined with a recursive least squares method with an adaptive forgetting factor for online parameter identification, with initial parameters optimized by a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. An extended Kalman filter (EKF) is then employed for state estimation to generate residuals, which are analyzed using the refined cumulative sum (CUSUM) statistical method to detect and diagnose ISC faults. Experimental results show that this method effectively identifies ISC faults in automotive power batteries under various initial state of charge (SOC) levels and fault-free conditions. At 100% initial SOC, fault detection times are 104 seconds for a 15Ω fault, 77 seconds for a 10Ω fault, and 27 seconds for a 1Ω fault;at 90% initial SOC, detection for a 10Ω fault takes 97 seconds, demonstrating high accuracy and robustness. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

In this paper, the problem on L-gain analysis and anti-windup design is studied for linear switched saturated systems by the common Lyapunov function method. Firstly, the sufficient condition about tolerable disturbances is obtained and under this condition, the state trajectory that starts from the origin will be still on a bounded set. Then, we obtain the upper bound for restricted L-gain. Furthermore, to determine the maximum capability of disturbance tolerance and the minimum upper bound of restricted L-gain, the anti-windup compensators are computed by solving a constraints optimization problem. Finally, a numerical example is given to verify the effectiveness of proposed approach.

This paper considers the guaranteed cost control and anti-windup design problem for a class of discrete-time saturated switched systems. The anti-windup compensators are designed, for guaranteeing that the considered system is asymptotically stable and simultaneously the minimized upper-bound of the cost function is obtained. By using the switched Lyapunov function method, we derive some sufficient conditions about the existence of anti-windup compensation gains of guaranteed cost. Furthermore, the minimized upper-bound of the cost function is determined by solving an optimisation problem in terms of linear matrix inequalities（LMI） constraints. Finally, a numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Evacuation of crowds in a corridor with only one exit has been considered in this paper where distributed controllers have been constructed to regulate the crowd’s evacuation speed so that stampede tragedy can be avoided. Macroscopic model for crowds of pedestrians has been firstly derived based on inspiration of LWR (Lighthill-Whitham and Richards) model and Greenshields model from traffic system where finite volume method has been introduced to simplify the obtained PDEs into finite ODEs. Distributed evacuation controllers have been constructed based on inspiration of multi-agent system and stability analysis of obtained closed-loop system has been simplified to linear system with the delicate controllers proposed. Comparisons between distributed evacuation controllers and previous evacuation controllers have also been presented to show the advantages and disadvantages of different controllers under different initial density of crowds so that tragedy of crowd stampede can be effectively avoided with appropriate selection of different controllers.

The research on the comfort of shoes is a hot-issue in the field of footwear optimization design and intelligent design. To acquire the data-set of plantar pressure imaging, the foot-scan plantar pressure imaging experimental equipment was used to the plantar pressure imaging by collecting the actual test images of plantar pressure. The basic data-set of plantar pressure image is constructed by means of denoising and dimension reduction, which provides the basis for the segmentation of key feature areas and the extraction of key features of plantar pressure. The proposed methods of image de-dimensionality are used in preprocessing of image data-set. And some image filtering technologies are also applied in suppressing the noise of the target image, and subsequently to keep the original image feature details. The effect of some kinds of filtering was directly affect the subsequent image processing and the effectiveness of image fusion analysis by using Gaussian filtering, mean filtering and bilateral filtering which will guide the last surface generation in better ways. © 2019 The authors and IOS Press. Comfort is the key aspect in purchasing footwear while precision design on shoe sole and even to shoe last was the fundamental factor in influencing the comfort for the foot. Artificial intelligent technologies were applied in this field, especially on data mining and image mining, a variety of mathematical tools applied for identifying points in an image based on calculating features. Feature of an image is important for retraveling useful information from image dataset. In this paper, we used fast region-based convolutional neural network (Fast RCNN) for plantar pressure image dataset. The region of interest (ROI) extraction was deployed in the proposed model which showed the effectiveness of the proposed methods in the research. The region information extraction will be potential application for conform shoe last customization in industry. © 2019 The authors and IOS Press. All rights reserved.

Direct online measurement on product quality of industrial processes is difficult to be realized,which leads to a large number of unlabeled samples in modeling ***,it needs to employ semi-supervised learning(SSL)method to establish the soft sensor model of product *** the slow time-varying characteristic of industrial processes,the model parameters should be updated *** to this characteristic,this paper proposes an online adaptive semi-supervised learning algorithm based on random vector functional link network(RVFLN),denoted as *** introducing a L2-fusion term that can be seen a weight deviation constraint,the proposed algorithm unifies the offline and online learning,and achieves smoothness of model parameter *** evaluations both on benchmark testing functions and datasets reveal that the proposed OAS-RVFLN can outperform the conventional methods in learning speed and ***,the OAS-RVFLN is applied to the coal dense medium separation process in coal industry to estimate the ash content of coal product,which further verifies its effectiveness and potential of industrial application.
