The dynamic model of the selective catalyst reduction（SCR） system is constructed based on the mechanism of denitration reactions. The adsorption-desorption of the reactants NH and NOx and the reactions between them are addressed independently. The model is verified by the actual operation data and the results show that the model reflects the dynamic characteristics of SCR system accurately. Furthermore, the effects of temperature and molar ratio of NH/NOx on the SCR reactions are analyzed. The simulation results show that the surface coverage and the denitration efficiency increase with temperature when the concentration of NOx and NH are constant. Similarity, both of the two indexes increase with molar ratio and there is no change in ammonia escape.

A Baseline Load Estimation Approach for Residential Customer based on Load Pattern Clustering

Demand response (DR) is a key technology enabling reliable and flexible power system operation more economically and environment-friendly than conventional manners from supply side. Customer baseline load (CBL) estimation is an important issue in the implementation of DR programs for assessing the performance of DR programs and designing economic compensation mechanisms. The accurate estimation of CBL is critical to the success of DR programs because it involves the interests of multi-stakeholders including utilities and customers. Motivated by the inaccuracy of existing CBL methods, this paper proposes a residential CBL estimation approach based on load pattern (LP) clustering to improve the accuracy of CBL estimation. First, an adaptive density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) algorithm is proposed to extract typical load patterns (TLPs) of each individual customer in order to avoid the adverse effects from aggregating many dissimilar LPs together as the real TLP. Second, K-means clustering is utilized to segment residential customers into several different clusters based on the similarity of LPs. Finally, CBLs for DR participants are estimated based on the actual load of non-participants at the same cluster during DR event periods. The proposed methods are compared with some traditional methods on a smart metering dataset from Ireland. The results show that the proposed methods have a better performance on accuracy than averaging and regression methods.

Enhanced Geometric Map:a 2D&3D Hybrid City Model of Large Scale Urban Environment for Robot Navigation

To facilitate scene understanding and robot navigation in large scale urban environment, a two-layer enhanced geometric map(EGMap) is designed using videos from a monocular onboard camera. The 2D layer of EGMap consists of a 2D building boundary map from top-down view and a 2D road map, which can support localization and advanced map-matching when compared with standard polyline-based maps. The 3D layer includes features such as 3D road model,and building facades with coplanar 3D vertical and horizontal line segments, which can provide the 3D metric features to localize the vehicles and flying-robots in 3D space. Starting from the 2D building boundary and road map, EGMap is initially constructed using feature fusion with geometric constraints under a line feature-based simultaneous localization and mapping(SLAM) framework iteratively and progressively. Then, a local bundle adjustment algorithm is proposed to jointly refine the camera localizations and EGMap features. Furthermore, the issues of uncertainty, memory use, time efficiency and obstacle effect in EGMap construction are discussed and analyzed. Physical experiments show that EGMap can be successfully constructed in large scale urban environment and the construction method is demonstrated to be very accurate and robust.

Preserving data-privacy with added noises: Optimal estimation and privacy analysis

Networked systems often relies on distributed algorithms to achieve a global computation goal with iterative local information exchanges between neighbor nodes. To preserve data privacy, a node may add a random noise to its original data for information exchange at each iteration. Nevertheless, a neighbor node can estimate other’s original data based on the information it received. The estimation accuracy and data privacy can be measured in terms of (ϵ, δ)-data-privacy, defined as the probability of ϵ-accurate estimation (the difference of an estimation and the original data is within ϵ) is no larger than δ (the disclosure probability). How to optimize the estimation and analyze data privacy is a critical and open issue. In this paper, a theoretical framework is developed to investigate how to optimize the estimation of neighbor’s original data using the local information received, named optimal distributed estimation. Then, we study the disclosure probability under the optimal estimation for data privacy analysis. We further apply the developed framework to analyze the data privacy of the privacy-preserving average consensus algorithm and identify the optimal noises for the algorithm. Robust ${\mathscr {H}}_{\infty }$ Filtering for a Class of Two-Dimensional Uncertain Fuzzy systems With Randomly Occurring Mixed Delays

This paper is concerned with the robust H ∞ filtering problem for a class of 2-D uncertain fuzzy systems with randomly occurring mixed delays (ROMDs). The underlying 2-D systems are described by the Fornasini-Marchesini model, and the uncertainty is expressed in a linear fraction form. An improved Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model corresponding to the spatial promise variables is adopted to represent the complicated 2-D nonlinear system. The mixed delays consisting of both discrete and distributed delays are allowed to appear in a random manner governed by two sets of Bernoulli distributed white sequences with known probability. A full-order fuzzy filter is constructed to estimate the output signal such that, in the presence of parameter uncertainties and ROMDs, the dynamics of the estimation errors is asymptotically stable with a prescribed H ∞ disturbance attenuation level. Based on the stochastic analysis technique and the Lyapunov-like functional, sufficient conditions are established to ensure the existence of the desired filters, and the explicit expressions of such filters are derived by means of the solution to a class of convex optimization problems that can be solved via standard software packages. A numerical example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed filter design algorithms, and the filter performances with and without fuzzy rules are also compared.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a leading cause of mortality worldwide. We conducted a genome-wide association study meta-analysis of 100,204 CRC cases and 154,587 controls of European and east Asian ancestry, identifying 205 independent risk associations, of which 50 were unreported. We performed integrative genomic, transcriptomic and methylomic analyses across large bowel mucosa and other tissues. Transcriptome- and methylome-wide association studies revealed an additional 53 risk associations. We identified 155 high-confidence effector genes functionally linked to CRC risk, many of which had no previously established role in CRC. These have multiple different functions and specifically indicate that variation in normal colorectal homeostasis, proliferation, cell adhesion, migration, immunity and microbial interactions determines CRC risk. Crosstissue analyses indicated that over a third of effector genes most probably act outside the colonic mucosa. Our findings provide insights into colorectal oncogenesis and highlight potential targets across tissues for new CRC treatment and chemoprevention strategies.

In the first part of this paper, inspired by the geometric method of Jean-Pierre Marec, we consider the two-impulse Hohmann transfer problem between two coplanar circular orbits as a constrained nonlinear programming problem. By using the Kuhn-Tucker theorem, we analytically prove the global optimality of the Hohmann transfer. Two sets of feasible solutions are found, one of which corresponding to the Hohmann transfer is the global minimum, and the other is a local minimum. In the second part, we formulate the Hohmann transfer problem as two-point and multi-point boundary-value problems by using the calculus of variations. With the help of the Matlab solver bvp4c, two numerical examples are solved successfully, which verifies that the Hohmann transfer is indeed the solution of these boundary-value problems. This paper studies the problem of image-based leader-follower formation control for mobile robots, where the controller is designed independently of the leader's motion. An adaptive control scheme, which is suitable for both omnidirectional and perspective cameras, is proposed. The proposed approach avoids the need for accurate calibration of the extrinsic parameters of the omnidirectional camera as well as the intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of perspective camera. Additionally, the coefficients of the plane where the feature point moves relative to the camera frame can be uncertain. These uncertain constant parameters are estimated using an adaptive estimator. Uniform Semi-global Practical Asymptotic Stability (USPAS) of the system is shown using the Lyapunov approach. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
