This paper introduces a method that globally converges to Bstationary points of mathematical programs with equilibrium constraints (MPECs) in a finite number of iterations. B-stationarity is necessary for optimality and means that no feasible first-order direction improves the objective. Given a feasible point of an MPEC, B-stationarity can be certified by solving a linear program with equilibrium constraints (LPEC) constructed at this point. The proposed method solves a sequence of LPECs, which either certify B-stationarity or provide an active-set estimate for the complementarity constraints, and nonlinear programs (NLPs) - referred to as branch NLPs (BNLPs) - obtained by fixing the active set in the MPEC. A BNLP is more regular than the MPEC, easier to solve, and with the correct active set, its solution coincides with the solution of the MPEC. The method has two phases: the first phase identifies a feasible BNLP or certifies local infeasibility, and the second phase solves a finite sequence of BNLPs until a B-stationary point of the MPECis found. The paper provides a detailed convergence analysis and discusses implementation details. In addition, extensive numerical experiments and an open-source software implementation are provided. In the era of big data,there is an urgent need to establish data trading markets for effectively releasing the tremendous value of the drastically explosive *** security and data pricing,however,are still widely regarded as major challenges in this respect,which motivate this research on the novel multi-blockchain based framework for data trading markets and their associated pricing *** this context,data recording and trading are conducted separately within two separate blockchains:the data blockchain(DChain) and the value blockchain(VChain).This enables the establishment of two-layer data trading markets to manage initial data trading in the primary market and subsequent data resales in the secondary ***,pricing mechanisms are then proposed to protect these markets against strategic trading behaviors and balance the payoffs of both suppliers and ***,in regular data trading on VChain-S2D,two auction models are employed according to the demand scale,for dealing with users’ strategic *** incentive-compatible Vickrey-Clarke-Groves(VCG)model is deployed to the low-demand trading scenario,while the nearly incentive-compatible monopolistic price(MP) model is utilized for the high-demand trading *** temporary data trading on VChain-D2S,a reverse auction mechanism namely two-stage obscure selection(TSOS) is designed to regulate both suppliers’ quoting and users’ valuation ***,experiments are carried out to demonstrate the strength of this research in enhancing data security and trading efficiency.

The article presents the results of developing a mathematical model for computer simulation and study of the processes of atmospheric pollutant dispersion, taking into account various factors, including data on known emission sources, meteorological conditions, and monitoring results of pollutant concentrations at specific points in an industrial area. Gaussian and Ermak models were considered as the basic mathematical models for pollutant dispersion. The developed model has been implemented as a computer program that allows for automated simulation iterations based on actual measurements of the environmental situation and weather conditions in a specified area. Calculations and a comparative assessment of the accuracy of the proposed model were carried out using the program, and conclusions were drawn confirming its effectiveness for simulating pollutant dispersion in the atmosphere. © 2024 IEEE.

Zero-shot learning (ZSL) is an important but challenging task in computer vision that aims to identify unseen classes without matching training samples. Current cutting-edge ZSL methods based on locality focus on acquiring the explicit locality of distinguishing characteristics, which could face a lack of adequate supervision at the class attribute level. This paper introduces a novel approach called IAC, which aims to learn Implicit Attribute Composition for ZSL. This method is more comprehensive compared to attribute localization that solely focuses on class-level attribute supervision. IAC utilizes subspace representations that efficiently capture the inherent structure of high-dimensional image features. Then, we learn implicit attribute composition through subspace representation learning. The superiority of the proposed IAC compared to the state-of-the-art is demonstrated through sufficient experiments conducted on three commonly used ZSL datasets, CUB, SUN, and AwA2. © 2023 IEEE.

microRNAs play an important role in post-transcriptional gene regulation. Recently, viral microRNAs have been discovered in several viruses, including Hepatitis B virus. This brief work explores bioinformatics tools for viral/host miRNA research and provides insights into the roles of miRNAs in HBV infection, offering an overview of this field, in order to facilitate the selection of the most suitable bioinformatics tools according to individual needs and research goals. © 2023 IEEE.

In the process of coal mine drilling,controlling the rotary speed is important as it determines the efficiency and safety of *** this paper,a linear extended state observer(LESO)based backstepping controller for rotary speed is proposed,which can overcome the impact of changes in coal seam hardness on rotary ***,the influence of coal seam hardness on the drilling rig’s rotary system is considered for the first time,which is reflected in the numerical variation of load torque,and a dynamic model for the design of rotary speed controller is *** an LESO is designed to observe the load torque,and feedforward compensation is carried out to overcome the influence of coal seam *** on the model of the compensated system,a backstepping method is used to design a controller to achieve tracking control of the rotary ***,the effectiveness of the controller designed in this paper is demonstrated through simulation and field experiments,the steady-state error of the rotary speed in field is 1 r/min,and the overshoot is reduced to 5.8%.This greatly improves the stability and security,which is exactly what the drilling process requires.

The importance of proper data normalization for deep neural networks is well known. However, in continuous-time state-space model estimation, it has been observed that improper normalization of either the hidden state or hidden state derivative of the model estimate, or even of the time interval can lead to numerical and optimization challenges with deep learning based methods. This results in a reduced model quality. In this contribution, we show that these three normalization tasks are inherently coupled. Due to the existence of this coupling, we propose a solution to all three normalization challenges by introducing a normalization constant at the state derivative level. We show that the appropriate choice of the normalization constant is related to the dynamics of the to-be-identified system and we derive multiple methods of obtaining an effective normalization constant. We compare and discuss all the normalization strategies on a benchmark problem based on experimental data from a cascaded tanks system and compare our results with other methods of the identification literature.

Edge Intelligence Enhanced Monte Carlo Tree Search for Virtually Coupled Train Set Optimal control

Virtually Coupled Train Set (VCTS) is an advanced train control technology enabling multiple trains to operate closely through wireless communication, enhancing capacity and operational flexibility. Traditional VCTS control algorithms struggle with complex dynamic models and local optimality, hindering real-time, long-term optimization. This paper proposes an Edge Intelligence (EI) enhanced Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) framework for VCTS Optimal control (M-VOC). MCTS is a heuristic search algorithm that identifies optimal operational solutions efficiently, focusing on long-term stability over local optimums. EI supports MCTS for real-time decision-making, and we introduce a model-based reinforcement learning algorithm to manage VCTS's complex dynamics. Our framework addresses VCTS control issues in real-time while optimizing long-term benefits. To meet computational and real-time demands, we propose a train-to-edge cooperative computing strategy using multi-intelligence reinforcement learning. Simulations demonstrate that our EI-enhanced MCTS strategy effectively provides cooperative control, ensuring virtually coupled trains operate safely, stably, and punctually with reduced intervals. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

The paper presents the schemes for manufacturing a microoptoelectromechanical (MOEM) accelerometer for measuring small accelerations. MOEM-accelerometer includes three subsystems: mechanical, optical and electronic. The mechanical subsystem includes an inertial body, mounted on a spring suspension in a case. The optical subsystem includes a laser, moving and fixed waveguides. The electrical subsystem includes a photodiode and electronic components. To measure microdisplacements that correspond to measured microaccelerations, an optical system based on the optical tunnel effect was used. The work considers the schemes of the optical transducer for linear and angular displacements of the mechanical subsystem. The moving waveguide together with the inertial body are combined into the mechanical sensing element that diverges in the case of acceleration. A technological process for manufacturing a MOEM accelerometer based on the 'silicon on insulator' technology with additional layers of nitride and silicon oxide for optical functional elements is presented. Depending on the character of the movement of the sensing element, the functional schemes of the MOEM-accelerometer were developed with various changeable parameters: optical coupling length, gap, overlapping area between the moving and fixed waveguides. The article analyzes the advantages and drawbacks of the proposed schemes of accelerometers from the perspective of their manufacturing feasibility and the predicted accuracy. The highest sensitivity (6.25 × 10-6 m-1) belongs to schemes with changeable gap between the waveguides. The dynamic displacement ranges of them is ± 80 nm. Lower sensitivity (1.25 × 106 m-1) belongs to schemes with changeable overlapping area. The dynamic displacement range may reach ± 300 nm. Schemes with changeable optical coupling length possess the highest dynamic range which directly depends on a chosen optical coupling length and amounts to dozens of microns.
