This position paper, via rationalizing the potentials of carrying out a carefully crafted research project, argues that the three fields of enterprise information system, business process management, and digital records management should join forces in serving the needs of organizations, regardless of their types. Pathway activity data transformed from gene expression profiles may be used to identify tumors, complex diseases progression, and cellular response to stimuli, and so on. Previous researches utilized data mining techniques on pathway activity data to distinguish subjects or to predict the phenotype outcome of subject directly. However, in the multi-class classification, learning those data mixing with population from different groups may result in contaminated model as excessive information is presented. This research, we use a two-stage approach applying clustering to homogenize training data before building the classification model. Hierarchical Clustering is used as a clustering method and Random Forest is used as classifier for evaluating the performance of the proposed method. The results are promising and show that using a clustering technique before classifying improves classification performance in general.

A hybrid model for explaining older adult' continuance intention toward SNSs

Due to the rapid growth of social net services (SNSs), research into SNSs continuance usage has recently emerged as an important issue in information systems adaption. This study develops an integrated model based on the expectation-confirmation model (ECM), the technology acceptance model (TAM), and the theory of planned behavior (TPB), and apply them into the context of older adults' continuance intention toward SNSs. The hypothesized model is validated empirically using a sample collected from 250 older adults who had prior experience with SNSs and was tested against the proposed research model using structure equation modeling. Analysis results demonstrate that satisfaction has the most significant effect on older adults' continuance intention, followed by perceived usefulness, attitude, subject norm and perceived behavioral control. The results of these findings for SNSs practitioners are discussed at the end of this work. © 2015 SERSC.

Misdiagnosis of epilepsy, even by experienced clinicians, can cause exposure of patients to medical procedures and treatments with potential complications. Moreover, diagnostic delays (for 7 to 10 years on average) impose economic burden at individual and population levels. In this paper, a seizure classification framework of epileptic and non-epileptic events from multi-channel EEG data is proposed. In contrast to relevant studies found in the literature, in this study, the non-epileptic class consists of two types of paroxysmal episodes of loss of consciousness, namely the psychogenic non-epileptic seizure (PNES) and the vasovagal syncope (VVS). EEG signals are represented in the spectral-spatial-temporal domain. A tensor-based approach is employed to extract signature features to feed the classification models. TUCKER decomposition is applied to learn the essence of original, high-dimensional domain of feature space and extract a multilinear discriminative subspace. The classification models were evaluated on EEG epochs from 11 subjects in an inter-subject cross-validation setting and achieved an accuracy of 96%. © 2015 IEEE.

At the early stage of software lifecycle,the complexity measurement of UML class diagrams plays an important role in software development,testing and maintenance,and provides guidance for developing high quality *** order to study which one is better,simple or complex metrics,this paper analyzes and compares four typical metrics of UML class diagrams from experimental software engineering view ***,analyzability and maintainability were classified and predicted for 27 class diagrams related to a banking system by means of algorithm C5.0 within the famous toolkit *** suggest that the performance of simple metrics is not inferior to that of complex metrics,in some cases even better than that of complex metrics.

In this paper, we introduce a new strategy of using VANET nodes with visual sensors and wireless transceivers to build an instant camera barrier for a given mission period. Given a set of properly equipped VANET nodes whose drivers voluntarily join the protocol by exposing their future travel plans and use onboard equipment to transmit realtime video to the authority, we aim to maintain the barrier of VANET nodes during a given mission period. Under the constraints that the mobility of each VANET node is not controllable and the size of barrier, i.e. the number of concurrent participants, cannot exceed a given number due to the network system capacity limit, we propose a polynomial time algorithm for the problem. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work to consider the construction of camera barriers in pure mobile camera sensor network.

Background: Neck pain is a highly prevalent condition that leads to considerable pain, disability, and economic cost. We present the most current estimates of neck pain prevalence and years lived with disability (YLDs) from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD) by age, sex, and location, with forecasted prevalence to 2050. Methods: Systematic reviews identified population-representative surveys used to estimate the prevalence of and YLDs from neck pain in 204 countries and territories, spanning from 1990 to 2020, with additional data from opportunistic review. Medical claims data from Taiwan (province of China) were also included. Input data were pooled using DisMod-MR 2.1, a Bayesian meta-regression tool. Prevalence was forecast to 2050 using a mixed-effects model using Socio-demographic Index as a predictor and multiplying by projected population estimates. We present 95% UIs for every metric based on the 2·5th and 97·5th percentiles of 100 draws of the posterior distribution. Findings: Globally, in 2020, neck pain affected 203 million (95% uncertainty interval [UI] 163–253) people. The global age-standardised prevalence rate of neck pain was estimated to be 2450 (1960–3040) per 100 000 population and global age-standardised YLD rate was estimated to be 244 (165–346) per 100 000. The age-standardised prevalence rate remained stable between 1990 and 2020 (percentage change 0·2% [–1·3 to 1·7]). Globally, females had a higher age-standardised prevalence rate (2890 [2330–3620] per 100 000) than males (2000 [1600–2480] per 100 000), with the prevalence peaking between 45 years and 74 years in male and female sexes. By 2050, the estimated global number of neck pain cases is projected to be 269 million (219–322), with an increase of 32·5% (23·9–42·3) from 2020 to 2050. A Part-of-speech Tagging Model Employing Word Clustering and Syntactic Parsing

Part-Of-Speech tagging is a basic task in the field of natural language processing. This paper builds a POS tagger based on improved Hidden Markov model,by employing word clustering and syntactic parsing ***, In order to overcome the defects of the classical HMM, Markov family model(MFM), a new statistical model was introduced. Secondly, to solve the problem of data sparseness, we propose a bottom-to-up hierarchical word clustering algorithm. Then we combine syntactic parsing with part-of-speech tagging. The Part-ofSpeech tagging experiments show that the improved PartOf-Speech tagging model has higher performance than Hidden Markov models(HMMs) under the same testing conditions, the precision is enhanced from 94.642% to97.235%.

With high expansibility and efficient power usage, tiered wireless sensor networks are widely deployed in many fields as an important part of Internet of Things (IoTs). It is challenging to process range query while protecting sensitive data from adversaries. Moreover, most existing work focuses on privacy-preserving range query neglecting collusion attacks and probability attacks, which are more threatening to network security. In this paper, we first propose a secure range query protocol called secRQ, which not only protects data privacy, but also resists collusion attacks and probability attacks in tiered wireless sensor networks. Generalized inverse matrices and distance-based range query mechanism are used to guarantee security as well as high efficiency and accuracy. Besides, we propose the mutual verification scheme to verify the integrity of query results. Finally, both theoretical analysis and experimental results confirm the security, efficiency and accuracy of secRQ.

This paper uses the theoretic framework of TOE(technology-organization-environment), identifies the factors promoting and hindering informatization of nursing institutions for the aged. This case study of six nursing institutions for the aged finds that different ownership institutions have some different factors promoting and hindering the process of informatization. In general, compared with public nursing institutions for the aged, private nursing institutions have more both promoting and hindering factors in technological and organizational aspect, but less hindering factors in the environmental aspect;and, risk management is an important promoting factor in the application of information systems for these institutions, it is fewer reported in other industries' study. These findings extend the application field of the TOE theory;extend the informatization study in nursing institutions for the aged. In practical,we suggest that different ownership's nursing institutions for the aged should take good advantage of promoting factors considering their own resources, overcome the hindering factors to ensure the successful implementation of the informatization.
