Latency minimization for multiuser computation offloading in fog-radio access networks

Recently,the Fog-Radio Access Network(F-RAN)has gained considerable attention,because of its flexible architecture that allows rapid response to user *** this paper,computational offloading in F-RAN is considered,where multiple User Equipments(UEs)offload their computational tasks to the F-RAN through fog *** UE can select one of the fog nodes to offload its task,and each fog node may serve multiple *** tasks are computed by the fog nodes or further offloaded to the cloud via a capacity-limited fronhaul *** order to compute all UEs'tasks quickly,joint optimization of UE-Fog association,radio and computation resources of F-RAN is proposed to minimize the maximum latency of all *** min-max problem is formulated as a Mixed Integer Nonlinear Program(MINP).To tackle it,first,MINP is reformulated as a continuous optimization problem,and then the Majorization Minimization(MM)method is used to find a *** MM approach that we develop is unconventional in that each MM subproblem is solved inexactly with the same provable convergence guarantee as the exact MM,thereby reducing the complexity of MM *** addition,a cooperative offloading model is considered,where the fog nodes compress-and-forward their received signals to the *** this model,a similar min-max latency optimization problem is formulated and tackled by the inexact *** results show that the proposed algorithms outperform some offloading strategies,and that the cooperative offloading can exploit transmission diversity better than noncooperative offloading to achieve better latency performance.

Automatic modulation recognition plays a critical role in modern communication systems as it provides valuable information for tasks such as signal recognition, interference jamming, and interception. Despite the significant potential of machine learning in this field, its practical effectiveness often falls short of expectations. In non-cooperative communication systems, irregular phase shifts and carrier frequency offsets (CFO) in the signal can negatively impact recognition accuracy. Conventional algorithms for compensating CFO, including those reliant on phase-locked loops, as well as various existing blind modulation techniques, encounter constraints in non-cooperative environments. This paper presents a novel CFO self-compensating neural network. A CFO compensation module is designed and integrated into the neural network. Additionally, a regularization term is proposed to evaluate the effectiveness of CFO compensation, which is incorporated into the loss function. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through experiments conducted on both publicly accessible datasets and experimentally measured data generated using software-defined radio. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed new architecture maintains reliable recognition capabilities even in the presence of CFO. Additionally, it can be applied to all modulation schemes that are demodulable using constellation diagrams in non-cooperative conditions. © 2025 IEEE.

Digitally-Assisted Analog Self-Interference Cancellation for STAR System

To enable simultaneous transmit and receive(STAR)on the same frequency in a densely deployed space with multi-interference sources,this work proposes a digitally-assisted analog selfinterference cancellation method,which can acquire reference signals through flexible wired/wireless switching *** on this method,the Minimum Mean Square Error algorithm with known channel state information is derived in detail,determining the upper limit of the cancellation performance,and the Adaptive Dithered Linear Search algorithm for real-time engineering cancellation is *** correctness of theoretical analysis is verified by the practical self-interference channel measured by a vector network ***,we have designed and implemented the corresponding multiinterference cancellation prototype with the digitallyassisted structure,capable of handling multiple interferences(up to three)and supporting a large receive bandwidth of 100 MHz as well as a wide frequency coverage from 30 MHz to 3000 *** test results demonstrate that in the presence of three interferences,when the single interference bandwidth is 0.2/2/20 MHz(corresponding to the receive bandwidth of 2/20/100 MHz),the cancellation performance can reach 46/32/22 dB or more.

High-Power 100 kW CW Q-Band Gyro-TWT: Performance and Stability

To satisfy the demand for high-power microwave sources, a Q-band 100 kW continuous-wave (CW) gyrotron traveling wave tube (gyro-TWT) is fabricated and experimentally demonstrated in this letter. The stability and uniformity of electron emission are greatly improved through the application of cathode coating thin-film technology. The power capacity of the device is assessed using efficient thermal management methods. Experimental results show that the gyro-TWT, driven by a 56 kV-7.9 A electron beam, achieves a maximum CW power of 115.6 kW, a gain of 54.9 dB, and an efficiency of 26.1% at 49.5 GHz. The device operates stably for a long time, with performance at the forefront of current technology. © 1980-2012 IEEE.

To guarantee secure communication against eavesdropping and malicious attack,an artificial noise(AN)-aided frequency-hopping(FH)architecture is adopted in this *** the inevitable time misalignment between the received signal and locally reconstructed AN will deteriorate the AN cancellation performance,yielding significant secrecy degradation at the FH *** view of this,first,the AN cancellation performance under time misalignment is evaluated via signal to AN-plus-noise ratio,and the system secrecy is analyzed via secrecy ***,to mitigate the performance degradation raised by time misalignment,the transmitting power allocation scheme for AN and confidential signal(CS)is optimized,and the optimal hopping period is ***,the obtained conclusions in both the performance evaluation and transmitter optimization sections hold no matter whether the eavesdropper can realize FH synchronization or *** verify that time misalignment will raise non-negligible performance ***,the power ratio of AN to CS should decrease as time misalignment increases,and for perfect time synchronization,the transmitting power of AN and CS should be *** addition,a longer hopping period is preferred for secrecy enhancement when time misalignment gets exacerbated.

Secure Fault-Tolerant control for Nonlinear Cyber-Physical Systems Against Multiple Threats

This paper mainly focuses on secure fault-tolerant control for nonlinear cyber-physical systems under the influence of multiple threats, i.e., sensor and actuator saturations, actuator fault, and intermittent denial-of-service attacks. A novel secure fault-tolerant control method is proposed within the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy modeling framework, considering both saturation constraints and intermittent denial-of-service attacks, to ensure the secure performance of cyber-physical systems under multiple threats. By leveraging the advantages of the proposed method, the influence of outdated information caused by denial-of-service attacks is mitigated, and more precise state/fault estimations are obtained. Furthermore, the method guarantees the stability of both the estimation error system and the closed-loop system, even in the presence of intermittent denial-of-service attacks and saturation constraints. Finally, the effectiveness of this method is validated through experiment. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Movable antennas (MA) allow flexible positioning within a specified region, enhancing wireless communication performance. This paper explores leveraging MA to improve physical layer security in analog beamforming (AB) systems. Specifically, we aim to maximize the secrecy rate by jointly optimizing the AB and MA positions under constant modulus (CM) and position constraints. To solve the resulting non-convex problem, we propose a penalty product manifold (PPM) method, which converts MA position constraints into a penalty function, reformulating the problem as unconstrained optimization on the product manifold space (PMS). We then derive a parallel conjugate gradient descent (PCGD) algorithm to efficiently update both AB and MA positions, providing analytical solutions at each step and ensuring convergence to a KKT point. Simulation results confirm that the MA system achieves a higher secrecy rate than systems with fixed antenna positions.

In-Band Full-Duplex Communication for OFDM Integrated Sensing and Communication Systems

In-band full-duplex (IBFD) integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems, where the base station (BS) simultaneously conducts the IBFD mode for both communication and sensing functions, increase spectral efficiency and reduce both communication and sensing latency. However, it is challenging to decouple the target echo and uplink communication signal at the digital domain of the receiver within serious self-interference (SI) from the transmitter. This paper investigates a digital canceller for IBFD ISAC systems with orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform, enabling IBFD communication and sensing within the same time-frequency resource. With the proposed frequency-domain two-stage interference cancellation method, the ISAC receiver cancels the static interference and extracts the moving target echo signal for the sensing function. Subsequently, the uplink communication signal is decoupled after mitigating the target echo signal. Both sensing and communication performance are evaluated under different merits. Meanwhile, simulation and experiment results demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the frequency-domain-canceller-enabling IBFD communication-based ISAC system. © 2014 IEEE.

Multipath-Based SLAM with DOA Ambiguity

Multipath-based simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) relies on high-resolution direction of arrival (DOA) estimates to achieve excellent performance. Expanding antenna element spacing is a common strategy to improve DOA resolution. However, excessively large spacing can cause signals from different directions to become indistinguishable, leading to DOA ambiguity. Traditional methods typically address DOA ambiguity through antenna array relocation or the use of multiple arrays. In multipath-based SLAM, however, the movement of the mobile agent naturally facilitates the movement of the receiver's array, allowing the use of high-resolution yet ambiguous DOA estimates. In this paper, we propose a splitting state transition model to handle DOA ambiguity and a novel amplitude measurement model to handle the high nonlinearity it introduces. Integrating these models within an existing Bayesian framework, we develop a message passing algorithm. Simulations demonstrate that the proposed method improves positioning and mapping performance, while exhibiting enhanced robustness against divergence. © 2025 IEEE.
