The high-speed train inspection robot needs to perform alignment parking and image acquisition at the position of the train bogie, and reliable alignment identification marks are the basis for the inspection robot to achieve highprecision alignment parking. The existing alignment method is mainly based on the way of artificial beacons, in the inspection workshop through manual laying of additional identification marks such as QR codes, magnetic stripes, RFID electronic tags, auxiliary robot alignment parking, but this type of method in beacon maintenance, laying costs and other aspects have certain limitations. Aiming at the problem, this paper proposes a vision-based bogie beacon detection method, which combines the target detection technology with the unique bogie spatial structure feature of the train, and provides reliable identification marks for the alignment and parking of the inspection robot. This method improves the alignment accuracy, reduces the cost of laying and maintaining artificial beacons, and has high application value. © 2022 IEEE.

Out-of-distribution (OOD) detection aims to identify the test examples that do not belong to the distribution of training data. The distance-based methods, which identify OOD examples based on their distances from the centroids of in-distribution (ID) examples, have demonstrated promising OOD detection performance. However, the objectives utilized in prior approaches are typically designed for classification and thus might not yield sufficient discriminative power to distinguish between ID and OOD examples. Therefore, this paper proposes a prototype-based contrastive learning framework for OOD detection, which is termed provable Discriminative Hyperspherical Embedding (DHE). The proposed framework provides a theoretical analysis of inter-class dispersion, which is proved to be fundamental in reducing the false positive rate (FPR) on OOD examples. Based on this, we devise an angular spread loss to achieve the maximal dispersion of the prototypes of different classes prior to training. Subsequently, a prototype-enhanced contrastive loss is introduced to align embeddings of ID examples closely with their corresponding prototypes. In our proposed DHE, the maximal prototype dispersion is theoretically proved, thereby avoiding the pitfalls of local optima commonly encountered by most existing methods. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed DHE, which showcases a remarkable reduction in FPR95 (i.e., 5.37% on CIFAR-100) and more than doubling the computational efficiency when compared with the state-of-the-art methods. The traditional kinematic calibration method for manipulators requires precise three-dimensional measuring instruments to measure the end pose, which is not only expensive due to the high cost of the measuring instruments but also not applicable to all manipulators. Another calibration method uses a camera, but the system error caused by the camera's parameters affects the calibration accuracy of the kinematics of the robot arm. In order to solve this problem, this paper reduces the dimensionality of the experimental data and redesigns the objective function to be optimized. That is, the three-dimensional positions of the feature points of the calibration plate under each manipulator attitude corresponding to the actual kinematic model and the classic D-H kinematic model are mapped into the pixel coordinate system, and the sum of Euclidean distance errors of the pixel coordinates of the two is used as the objective function to be optimized. And then, nonlinear optimization and parameter compensation are performed. The experimental results show that the pixel deviation of the end pose corresponding to the optimized D-H kinematic model proposed in this paper and the end pose corresponding to the actual kinematic model in the pixel coordinate system is 0.99 pixels. Compared with the 7.9 deviation pixels between the pixel coordinates calculated by the classic D-H kinematic model and the actual pixel coordinates, the deviation is reduced by nearly 7 pixels for an 87% reduction in error. Therefore, the proposed method can effectively avoid system errors caused by camera parameters in visual calibration, can improve the absolute positioning accuracy of the end of the robotic arm, and has good economy and universality. © 2022 IEEE.

DeepFakes blur the boundaries between reality and forgery, resulting in the collapse of exiting credit system, causing immeasurable consequences for national security and social order. Through analysis of existing face forgery techniques, it is found that most generation techniques rely on random noise distribution, and global information will be lost after up sampling. Therefore, we propose a deepfake detection algorithm based on improved MobileViT, which uses CNN local space biasing and the global space representation of the Transformer network to learn the local features and global representation of forged faces, respectively. Coordinate attention is introduced to obtain directional perception and position sensitive information, making the model locate synthetic traces of fake faces better and fusion local and global representation more effectively. For the improved generalization of the model, with the GELU activation function to solve the problem of neuron death. Our model achieved 96.2% on FF++(C23) datasets, and 93.7%,94.1%,96.3%,87.9% on DF, F2F, FS, and NT datasets, respectively. Comparing with previous methods, our model has shown detection robustness and better generalization.

As the deadliest form of pollution, air pollution had a prolonged severe damage to the human health and life safety of nearly 99% of the world's population. Facing to the problem that billions of tons of pollutants discharged into the air per year by industrial activities, this paper proposed a novel image-based air pollution monitor (IAPM) by incorporating local and global information in the self-adaptive multiscale transform domain, so as to achieve the timely and effective leakage detection of typical air pollutants from a single image. To be specific, this paper first developed a screen-shaped module according to two significant findings in visual neuroscience, which include the high sensitivity of human eyes to horizontal and vertical stimuli and the center-surround inhibition, by designing and fusing the square module, horizontal strip module and vertical strip module parallelly for simulating the behaviour of human eyes to extract local features. Second, the learnable weights and proportional mapping were applied to incorporate the screen-shaped module and lightweight vision transformer as backbone, towards more richly exploiting and fusing local and global information just as the way a brain perceives external stimuli. Third, a new self-adaptive multiscale transform domain method was devised based on two motivations from the visual characteristics of multiscale perception and the brain characteristics of self-adaptive domain transform to modify the backbone by using the operations of pooling and pointwise convolution. Extensive experiments implemented on the datasets of carbon particulate matters and ethylene leakage confirmed the superior monitoring performance of the proposed IAPM model beyond the state-of-the-art (SOTA) peers by an accuracy gain of about 4%. Furthermore, the proposed IAPM model only required 0.089 GFLOPs and 0.15 million model parameters, remarkably outperforming SOTA competitors in computational efficiency and storage resources. © 1999-2

Intracortical brain-machine interfaces (iBMIs) aim to establish a communication path between the brain and external devices. However, in the daily use of iBMIs, the non-stationarity of recorded neural signals necessitates frequent recalibration of the iBMI decoder to maintain decoding performance, which requires collecting and labeling a large amount of new data. To address this challenge and minimize the time needed for decoder recalibration, we proposed an active learning domain adversarial neural network (AL-DANN). This model leveraged a substantial volume of historical data alongside a small amount of current data (four samples per category) to calibrate the decoder. By incorporating domain adversarial and active learning strategies, the model effectively transferred knowledge from historical data to new data, reducing the demand for new samples. We validated the proposed method using neural signals recorded from three monkeys performing different movements in a classification task or a regression task. The results showed that the AL-DANN outperformed existing state-of-the-art methods. Impressively, it required only four new samples per category for decoder recalibration, leading to a recalibration time reduction of over 80 %. To our knowledge, this is the first study to incorporate deep transfer learning into iBMI decoder calibration, highlighting the significant potential of applying deep learning technologies in iBMIs. © 2025

Extracting singing melody from polyphonic music is an important topic in the field of music information retrieval. In this paper, we propose a singing melody extraction network consisting of five stacked multi-scale feature time-frequency aggregation (MF-TFA) modules. In the same network, deeper layers generally contain more contextual information than shallower layers. To help the shallower layers enhance the ability of task-relevant feature extraction, we propose a self-distillation and multi-level supervision (SD-MS) method, which leverages the feature distillation from the deepest layer to the shallower one and multi-level supervision to guide network training. Visualization analysis shows that by introducing SD-MS, the same-level layer in the network can obtain a clearer representation of fundamental frequency components, while the shallower layers can even learn more task-relevant semantic information. Ablation study results indicate that SD-MS applies to existing melody extraction models and can consistently improve performance. Experimental results show that our proposed method, MF-TFA with SD-MS, outperforms six compared state-of-the-art methods, achieving overall accuracy (OA) scores of 87.1%, 89.9%, and 76.6% on the ADC 2004, MIREX 05, and MEDLEY DB datasets, respectively. Fusion of a panchromatic (PAN) image and corresponding multispectral (MS) image is also known as pansharpening, which aims to combine abundant spatial details of PAN and spectral information of MS. Due to the absence of high-resolution MS images, available deep-learning-based methods usually follow the paradigm of training at reduced resolution and testing at both reduced and full resolution. When taking original MS and PAN images as inputs, they always obtain sub-optimal results due to the scale variation. In this paper, we propose to explore the self-supervised representation of pansharpening by designing a cross-predictive diffusion model, named CrossDiff. It has two-stage training. In the first stage, we introduce a cross-predictive pretext task to pre-train the UNet structure based on conditional DDPM, while in the second stage, the encoders of the UNets are frozen to directly extract spatial and spectral features from PAN and MS, and only the fusion head is trained to adapt for pansharpening task. Extensive experiments show the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed model compared with state-of-the-art supervised and unsupervised methods. Besides, the cross-sensor experiments also verify the generalization ability of proposed self-supervised representation learners for other satellite’s datasets. The exploration and study of planetary bodies have produced vast amounts of geospatial data, creating a need for effective visualization and analysis tools. Many existing solutions are constrained by platform limitations and are resource-intensive, reducing their accessibility for broader use. To overcome these challenges, we developed a lightweight, web-based platform that visualizes interplanetary data and supports multiple geospatial data formats, including shapefiles, KML, and CZML. Our solution includes unique features such as 2D and 2.5D terrain visualization, 3D tiles, and tools for navigating to specific coordinates and measuring distances. These enhancements allow users to explore and interact with geospatial data from various planetary bodies across multiple devices without requiring specialized hardware or software. By modifying the underlying system, we extended its application to planetary data while preserving accessibility and performance across different platforms. This paper discusses the methodology behind these customizations, the challenges we encountered, and the potential applications of our platform in scientific research and education.

A brain-computer interface (BCI) enables direct communication between the human brain and external devices. Electroencephalography (EEG) based BCIs are currently the most popular for able-bodied users. To increase user-friendliness, usually a small amount of user-specific EEG data are used for calibration, which may not be enough to develop a pure data-driven decoding model. To cope with this typical calibration data shortage challenge in EEG-based BCIs, this paper proposes a parameter-free channel reflection (CR) data augmentation approach that incorporates prior knowledge on the channel distributions of different BCI paradigms in data augmentation. Experiments on eight public EEG datasets across four different BCI paradigms (motor imagery, steady-state visual evoked potential, P300, and seizure classifications) using different decoding algorithms demonstrated that: 1) CR is effective, i.e., it can noticeably improve the classification accuracy;2) CR is robust, i.e., it consistently outperforms other data augmentation approaches in the literature;and, 3) CR is flexible, i.e., it can be combined with other data augmentation approaches to further increase the performance. We suggest that data augmentation approaches like CR should be an essential step in EEG-based BCIs. Our code is available online. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.
