The occurrence of landslide is uncertain, and its surface displacement data is an important physical quantity reflecting the occurrence process of landslide. Therefore, we propose a visual based small displacement landslide surface displacement monitoring method. The method uses binocular stereo vision technology to monitor small slow landslides, and through image preprocessing, feature extraction, three-dimensional coordinate solving and other methods to solve the displacement of the marker body, so as to achieve the purpose of obtaining the displacement of the landslide surface. The experimental results show that the method has small measurement error, low cost and easy implementation. © 2019 IEEE.

In the third millennium, developing countries will confront significant environmental problems such as ozone depletion, global warming, the shortage of fossil resources, and greenhouse gas emissions. This research looked at a multigenerational system that can generate clean hydrogen, fresh water, electricity, heat, and cooling. The system's components include Rankine and Brayton cycles, an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC), flash desalination, an Alkaline electrolyzer, and a solar heliostat. The proposed process has been compared for two different start-up modes with a combustion chamber and solar heliostat to compare renewable and fossil fuel sources. This research evaluated various characteristics, including turbine pressure, system efficiency, solar radiation, and isentropic efficiency. The energy and exergy efficiency of the proposed system were obtained at around 78.93% and 47.56%, respectively. Exergy study revealed that heat exchangers and alkaline electrolyzers had the greatest exergy destruction rates, at 78.93% and 47.56%, respectively. The suggested system produces 0.04663 kg/s of hydrogen. Results indicate that at the best operational conditions, the exergetic efficiency, power, and hydrogen generation of 56%, 6000 kW, and 1.28 kg/s is reached, respectively. Also, With a 15% improvement in the Brayton cycle's isentropic efficacy, the quantity of hydrogen produced increases from 0.040 kg/s to 0.0520 kg/s. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd

To address an open issue of sufficiently describing crystallization kinetics in a continuous oscillatory baffled crystallizer (COBC), a comprehensive kinetic modelling method is proposed in this paper, along with a steady-state optimization approach (SOA) for operating the COBC. Taking into account the axial dispersion of crystal quantity (ADCQ), velocity dispersion of crystal population (VDCP), and growth rate dispersion (GRD), a non-ideal plug flow micro-distribution model (NPF-MDM) is firstly established, which could be used to predict the crystal size distribution (CSD) and mean crystal size (MCS) in each zone of COBC. The model parameters are estimated by heterogeneous tracer experiments and continuous cooling crystallization (CCC) experiments in a real COBC named DN15. Based on the established NPF-MDM, an SOA is provided for operating the COBC. The tube length distribution across different temperature zones of COBC is optimized to determine the maximum attainable region of product MCS. By introducing an objective function related to the target crystal size and the CSD width of product crystals, a sensitivity analysis (SA) is presented to identify the critical operating conditions (COCs), including the seed recipe and net flow rate. Subsequently, the SA-based SOA is carried out. A growth optimizer algorithm is offered to solve the related nonconvex optimization problems. Experiments on the CCC of L-glutamic acid (LGA) via DN15 are performed to validate the proposed modelling and SOA.

This paper addresses a UAV path planning problem for a team of cooperating heterogeneous vehicles composed of one unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and multiple unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). The UGVs are used as mobile actuators and scattered in a large area. To achieve multi-UGV communication and collaboration, the UAV serves as a messenger to fly all UGVs to transmit information. The path planning of messenger UAV is formulated as a Dynamic Dubins Traveling Salesman Problem with Neighborhood (DDTSPN). A novel memetic algorithm is proposed to find the shortest route enabling the UAV to fly over all requested UGVs. In the memetic algorithm, the combination of genetic algorithm and local search is employed to find a high-quality solution in a reasonable time, and a gradient-based repair strategy is used to repair the individuals violating dynamic constraints. The calculation results on both small and large instances show that the proposed method can generate high-quality solutions as compared with the state-of-the-art algorithms.

Cyber-physical social systems (CPSS) include cyberspace, physical space, and social space. Since the introduction of CPSS, human relationships with machinery and the physical world have altered as a new paradigm. Recent estimates indicate that approximately 60 percent of the world's population will live in cities by 2030. Large, dense cities can be highly productive, innovative, and very green per capita, hence ideal for our future. However, the huge influx of new people poses enormous challenges to their administrations. Smart cities are becoming a reality, therefore, to achieve higher efficiency, optimum use of resources, management and to strengthen several features of modern towns, several elements of modern cities are automated and integrated into Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Cities and infrastructure are growing all over the world, in providing end-users with increased performance, comfort, visibility and convenience, the Smart Cities concept is critical. This paper will discuss smart cities and the CPSS concept intensively with some of its key technologies, challenges, and further development by using CPSS.

We study the fabric spreading and cutting problem in apparel *** the sake of saving the material costs,the cutting requirement should be met exactly without producing additional garment *** reducing the production costs,the number of lays that corresponds to the frequency of using the cutting beds should be *** propose an iterated greedy algorithm for solving the fabric spreading and cutting *** algorithm contains a constructive procedure and an improving *** the constructive procedure creates a set of lays in sequence,and then the improving loop tries to pick each lay from the lay set and rearrange the remaining lays into a smaller lay *** improving loop will run until it cannot obtain any smaller lay set or the time limit is *** experiment results on 500 cases show that the proposed algorithm is effective and efficient.

In this paper, a delayed fractional SIR epidemic model with incommensurate orders is considered. Firstly, the stability is investigated and the conditions of the existence for Hopf bifurcation are attained by analyzing its characteristic equation. When the delay exceeds the critical value, a Hopf bifurcation occurs, the system loses its stability. An fractional PD control method is proposed to control the bifurcation behaviors of the delayed fractional SIR epidemic model. Finally, some numerical simulations are given to illustrate the validity of theoretical analysis.

In this paper, we study the fractional-order delayed gene regulatory network based on the comparative system ***, we introduced the concept of fractional differential. We use Lyapunov direct method to prove the impulsive synchronization. For the oscillation behavior of a fractional-order system with time delay, we apply the pulse to control its synchronization. Finally, we verify the correctness of our theory through experiment.

Like other countries, China has suffered severe consequences as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak and pandemic. The lockdown, physical distancing, social isolation has disrupted the day-to-day activities of its citizens. The higher education sector has had to adopt state-of-the-art technologies and use online platforms to hold classes in order to engage students and ensure the continuity of education for an effective learning process. The second wave and Delta variant of the virus compelled numerous Higher Educational Institutes (HEIs) to start offline and remote work for both academic and non-academic staff;a stressful ordeal for them. Teaching has always been a stressful career path, and the stress faced by teachers has adverse consequences on the learning and performance of students. In this paper, we aim to identify and study the stress HEIs staff perceive and its impact on their physical stress and wellbeing. The resilient coping mechanism was evaluated as a moderator in the relationship between the staff and faculty’s perceived and physical stress. Using a standard survey questionnaire, 500 responses were collected. The findings revealed that the staff with the highest perceived stress also showed high symptoms of physical stress. It also indicated that resilience copers experienced reduced or very inconsequential symptoms of physical stress regardless of high perceived stress, thus validating the important moderating function of resilience in the relationship between the physical and perceived stress of the employees. © 2022, CC BY.

Small World Effect (or Six Degrees of Separation theory) has generated significant influence in the world. Many researchers and institutes have done lots of work on the study of it. We model Small World Effect by random process and Graph, calculate the probability that any two people i and j in the world can contact each other after n steps (forwarding messages by intermediaries) based on different R (average number of acquaintances everyone has in the world).When R=50 or 80, if, the probability is 0.848 and the search is very likely to happen. When R=150, n=4, this probability is 0.99994, that is, after 4 steps, any two people in the world will establish connection almost surely. In the sense of Dunbar's number (R=150), six degrees of separation becomes four degrees of separation. We propose the concepts of (directed) Random Fuzzy Graph for the very first time which can describe the fact of recognition among people best, because the relation among persons is random and fuzzy. © 2021, CC BY.
