In this paper, a new multi-objective improved bat algorithm (MOIBA) is proposed to solve the constrained multi-objective optimal power flow (MOOPF) problem with contradictory objectives. The proposed MOIBA algorithm, introducing nonlinear inertia weight, global optimal guiding mechanism and monotone random filling model based on extreme (MRFE), can improve the shortcomings of basic bat algorithm which is easy to fall into local optimum. A Pareto-dominant method with constraint priority (PMC) is proposed to ensure that state variables can satisfy the inequality constraints of MOOPF problem. To obtain well-distributed Pareto optimal set (POS), an elite non-dominated sorting method with crowding-distance (ESCD) isadopted. In addition, a fuzzy affiliation approach (FAA) is used to select the best compromise (BC) from the obtained POS. The IEEE 30-bus, IEEE 57-bus and IEEE 118-bus systems are employed to evaluate the effectiveness of MOIBA with four objectives, which includes optimizing basic fuel cost and emission concurrently, optimizing basic fuel cost and active power loss concurrently, optimizing fuel cost with value-point loadings and active power loss concurrently, optimizing basic fuel cost, emission and active power loss concurrently. The legion experimental results obtained by MOIBA, which are contrast to MOPSO and MODE algorithms, validate that MOIBA has definite competitive advantages to achieve satisfactory POS. Furthermore, two performance metrics, generational distance (GD) and spacing (SP), are chosen to estimate the distribution and diversity of Pareto solutions obtained by MOIBA. © International Association of Engineers.

Live-maintaining work is essential for continuous power supply to the substation. To improve the safety and efficiency of live-maintaining work, this paper proposes an equipotential live-maintaining robot system suitable for 110kV voltage levels. Considering the narrow space, complex working conditions and strong electromagnetic interference in substations, binocular vision technology, manipulator trajectory planning algorithm based on time-energy optimization, high voltage electromagnetic shielding technology are utilized to develop the system, and the live-maintaining robot is successfully applied in actual substation. By accurately identifying and locating the joint bolts and insulator, the robot system can achieve equipotential live-disassemble, live-assemble the joint bolts within 18 minutes and live-clean insulator within 5 minutes, demonstrating its the effectiveness and practicability.

The iron and steel industry is the base for the development of national economy. It directly influences the industries of construction, machinery, shipbuilding, automobile, household electrical appliances, etc. The complexity and large uncertainties of the processes in the iron and steel industry make it difficult to establish accurate mathematical models and to control the processes using conventional control methods. On the other hand, since intelligent control does not require an accurate mathematics model, and its control algorithm has self-learning and adaptive ability, this control method is playing an increasingly important role in the iron and steel industry. © 2020, Science Press.

This paper is concerned with the resilient filtering problem for a class of discrete-time stochastic nonlinear systems with both time-varying delays and probabilistic distributed delays. In order to save the limited communication resource, stochastic communication protocols (SCPs) with multiple rules governed by a switching signal are employed to schedule the data transmission between the sensors and the filter for complying with different network scenarios and preserving the desired performance. An approach based on average dwell time (ADT) is utilized to establish the rule of SCPs for different scenarios. The purpose of the filtering problem is to design a resilient filter such that, under the regulation of SCPs, the dynamics of the filtering error is exponentially mean-square stable, and satisfies a prescribed disturbance attenuation level in a 2-∞ sense. A sufficient condition for the exponential mean-square stability is first derived and the 2-∞ performance is then guaranteed. In terms of certain linear matrix inequalities, the solvability of the addressed problem is discussed and the explicit expression of the desired resilient filter is also parameterized. Finally, a numerical example is provided to demonstrate the validity of the proposed design approach. © 2020 Elsevier Ltd

This paper investigates the consensus problems of heterogeneous discrete-time (DT) nonlinear multi-agent systems (MASs) with unknown dynamics and switching typology. By adding a virtual model to each agent and using the model reference protocol to the actual model, the consensus problems of unknown nonlinear MASs are transformed into consensus problems of known virtual linear MASs, and a distributed control law is designed for the virtual model to make the virtual linear MASs achieve consensus under the switching typology. Two numerical simulations with nonidentical nonlinear dynamics and switching typology are given to prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, stability of switched systems is investigated for a class of switching signals which meet some admissibility conditions. Firstly, the admissible edge-dependent divergence time is defined in terms of admissible transition edges and it will vary with the compensation bounds. Then the admissible edgedependent bounded maximum average dwell time (BM ADT) is imposed on switching signals. As a result, a sufficient condition is obtained for globally uniformly exponential stability of switched nonlinear systems with such switching signals. Secondly, by setting the equal compensation bounds for the same reaching subsystems, the mode-dependent divergence time is defined, and then the mode-dependent BMADT is proposed. A stability condition under the mode-dependent BMADT is established. These stability results are then applied to switched linear systems. The numerical example is presented to show that the proposed techniques are less restrictive and more flexible in application, compared with the BMADT. © 2021, CC BY.

Gas utilization rate (GUR) is an important state parameter to reflect the energy consumption, the quality and production of the pig iron, and the distribution of the gas flow in a blast furnace. The GUR is mainly adjusted by burden distribution and hot-blast supply. According to the analysis of mechanism and data, burden distribution and hot-blast supply affect the GUR on a long-time scale and short-time scale, respectively. However, few of the previous researches proposed the control method for the GUR and they did not consider multi-time-scale characteristics. Thus, it is necessary to design a control strategy or system for the GUR considering the multi-time-scale characteristics, which can make the GUR have a reasonable development trend. This paper presented a burden control strategy based on a reinforcement learning algorithm for the GUR. The method improved the development trend of the GUR on a long-time scale. The experimental results demonstrated that the sequence of the parameters of the burden distribution given by the presented method ensured a reasonable development trend of the GUR on a long-time scale.

A joint mid-course and terminal course cooperative guidance law for multi-missile salvo attack

Salvo attacking a surface target by multiple missiles is an effective tactic to enhance the lethality and penetrate the defense system. However, existing cooperative guidance laws in the midcourse or terminal course are not suitable for long-and medium-range missiles or stand-off attacking. Because the initial conditions of cooperative terminal guidance that are generally generated from the mid-course flight may not lead to a successful cooperative terminal guidance without proper mid-course flight adjustment. Meanwhile, cooperative guidance in the mid-course cannot solely guarantee the accuracy of a simultaneous arrival of multiple missiles. Therefore, a joint mid-course and terminal course cooperative guidance law is developed. By building a distinct leader-follower framework, this paper proposes an efficient coordinated Dubins path planning method to synchronize the arrival time of all engaged missiles in the mid-course flight. The planned flight can generate proper initial conditions for cooperative terminal guidance, and also benefit an earliest simultaneous arrival. In the terminal course, an existing cooperative proportional navigation guidance law guides all the engaged missiles to arrive at a target accurately and *** integrated guidance law for an intuitive application is summarized. Simulations demonstrate that the proposed method can generate fast and accurate salvo attack.

Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) plays an important role in autonomous navigation for mobile robots. Most of the visual SLAM approaches use keypoints for tracking, whose performance however suffers from the unstable landmarks during task due to uncertain light condition and frequently changeable viewpoint. The situation even becomes worse for visual SLAM in low texture environment especially in indoor buildings, where the supplementary artificial markers can be used to improve the robust detection under a wider range of circumstances. Inspired by this thought, this paper developed a visual SLAM system integrated with keypoints and artificial markers. A graph optimization problem is constructed to optimize the trajectory by taking both the reprojection error of keypoints and the influence of markers into consideration. The experimental results on SPM dataset demonstrate the superior accuracy of the proposed graph optimization algorithm compared with the start-of-the-art ORB-SLAM2.

FCM-RDpA: TSK fuzzy regression model construction using fuzzy C-means clustering, regularization, droprule, and powerball adabelief

To effectively optimize Takagi-Sugeno-Kang (TSK) fuzzy systems for regression problems, a mini-batch gradient descent with regularization, DropRule, and AdaBound (MBGD-RDA) algorithm was recently proposed. This paper further proposes FCM-RDpA, which improves MBGD-RDA by replacing the grid partition approach in rule initialization by fuzzy c-means clustering, and AdaBound by Powerball AdaBelief, which integrates recently proposed Powerball gradient and AdaBelief to further expedite and stabilize parameter optimization. Extensive experiments on 22 regression datasets with various sizes and dimensionalities validated the superiority of FCM-RDpA over MBGD-RDA, especially when the feature dimensionality is higher. We also propose an additional approach, FCM-RDpAx, that further improves FCM-RDpA by using augmented features in both the antecedents and consequents of the rules. Copyright © 2020, The Authors.
