Recently, topic-grounded dialogue system has attracted significant attention due to its effectiveness in predicting the next topic to yield better responses via the historical context and given topic sequence. However, almost all existing topic prediction solutions focus on only the current conversation and corresponding topic sequence to predict the next conversation topic, without exploiting other topic-guided conversations which may contain relevant topic-transitions to current conversation. To address the problem, in this paper we propose a novel approach, named Sequential Global Topic Attention (SGTA) to exploit topic transition over all conversations in a subtle way for better modeling post-to-response topic-transition and guiding the response generation to the current conversation. Specifically, we introduce a latent space modeled as a Multivariate Skew-Normal distribution with hybrid kernel functions to flexibly integrate the global-level information with sequence-level information, and predict the topic based on the distribution sampling results. We also leverage a topic-aware prior-posterior approach for secondary selection of predicted topics, which is utilized to optimize the response generation task. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our model outperforms competitive baselines on prediction and generation tasks. © 2022 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Choose Your Simulator Wisely: A Review on Open-source Simulators for Autonomous Driving

Simulators play a crucial role in autonomous driving, offering significant time, cost, and labor savings. Over the past few years, the number of simulators for autonomous driving has grown substantially. However, there is a growing concern about the validity of algorithms developed and evaluated in simulators, indicating a need for a thorough analysis of the development status of the simulators. To address existing gaps in research, this paper undertakes a comprehensive review of the history of simulators, proposes a utility-based taxonomy, and investigates the critical issues within open-source simulators. Analysis of the past thirty years' development trajectory reveals a trend characterized by an increase in open-source simulators and an expansion of their functionality scope. The categorization of simulators based on feature functionalities delineates five primary classes: traffic flow, sensory data, driving policy, vehicle dynamics, and comprehensive simulators. Furthermore, the paper identifies critical unresolved issues in open-source simulators, including concerns regarding the fidelity of sensory data, representation of traffic scenarios, and accuracy in vehicle dynamics simulation, all of which have the potential to undermine experimental confidence. Additionally, challenges in data format inconsistency, labor-intensive map construction processes, sluggish step updating, and insufficient support for Hardware-In-the-Loop testing are discussed as hindrances to experimental efficiency. In light of these findings, the survey furnishes task-oriented recommendations to aid in the selection of simulators, taking into account factors such as accessibility, maintenance status, and quality, while highlighting the inherent limitations of existing open-source simulators in validating algorithms and facilitating real-world experimentation. The Object Goal navigation (ObjectNav) task requires the agent to navigate to a specified target in an unseen environment. Since the environment layout is unknown, the agent needs to infer the unknown contextual objects from partially observations, thereby deducing the likely location of the target. Previous end-to-end RL methods capture contextual relationships through implicit representations while they lack notion of geometry. Alternatively, modular methods construct local maps for recording the observed geometric structure of unseen environment, however, lacking the reasoning of contextual relation limits the exploration efficiency. In this work, we propose the self-supervised generative map (SGM), a modular method that learns the explicit context relation via self-supervised learning. The SGM is trained to leverage both episodic observations and general knowledge to reconstruct the masked pixels of a cropped global map. During navigation, the agent maintains an incomplete local semantic map, meanwhile, the unknown regions of the local map are generated by the pretrained SGM. Based on the generated map, the agent sets the predicted location of the target as the goal and moves towards it. Experiments on Gibson, MP3D and HM3D show the effectiveness of our method. Preserving details and avoiding high computational costs are the two main challenges for the High-Resolution Salient Object Detection (HRSOD) task. In this paper, we propose a two-stage HRSOD model from the perspective of evolution and succession, including an evolution stage with Low-resolution Location Model (LrLM) and a succession stage with High-resolution Refinement Model (HrRM). The evolution stage achieves detail-preserving salient objects localization on the low-resolution image through the evolution mechanisms on supervision and feature;the succession stage utilizes the shallow high-resolution features to complement and enhance the features inherited from the first stage in a lightweight manner and generate the final high-resolution saliency prediction. Besides, a new metric named Boundary-Detail-aware Mean Absolute Error (MAEBD) is designed to evaluate the ability to detect details in high-resolution scenes. Extensive experiments on five datasets demonstrate that our network achieves superior performance at real-time speed (49 FPS) compared to state-of-the-art methods. The main task of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver is to obtain satellite signals, but the signal acquisition operations performed in this process consume a large amount of hardware resources. Compressed sensing is a new signal sampling theory that can reduce the calculation amount of the acquisition process, but it will also bring a certain signal-to-noise ratio loss. In order to improve the acquisition performance on the basis of reducing the amount of signal acquisition calculations, this paper proposes an improved measurement matrix compressed sensing signal partial matched filter-fast Fourier transform (PMF -FFT) acquisition method, which improves the Gaussian random matrix through singular value decomposition and improves the incoherence of the measurement matrix. Simulation results show that this method significantly reduces the amount of acquisition calculations without greatly reducing the acquisition performance. © 2024 IEEE.

The generation of micro-expression (ME) is unconscious and unaffected by human subjective consciousness. It can reveal hidden emotions in humans, which has important applications in the domains of psychological diagnosis, lie detection, and so on. ME detection, which aims to locate ME apex frames in long videos, is the foundation of ME recognition. In this paper, we propose a ME detection method based on One-Class Classification (OCC) theory for long videos. The method is the first to use neutral expression frames to detect MEs, which addresses the problem of insufficient training samples in ME detection. We design a geometric motion feature based on the prior knowledge from the FACS and utilize it in conjunction with the features extracted by CNN to train separate one-class classifiers for ME detection. Finally, we evaluate the proposed method on publicly available datasets CASME I, CASME II, SAMM, and a mixed database comprising data from the three datasets, to verify the feasibility of the proposed method in both single-database and cross-database ME detection. The experimental results show that our method outperforms three other ME detection methods, demonstrating its ability to more accurately locate ME apex frames in long videos. © 2023 IEEE.

The deployment of service function chains (SFCs) in integrated edge computing networks presents significant challenges, including optimizing resource utilization, minimizing latency, and reducing energy consumption. These challenges arise from the dynamic nature of workloads, varying network conditions, and complex service function dependencies. Conventional optimization approaches often struggle to handle these complexities, as they depend on static models and assumptions that may not apply in practical situations. This paper introduces an innovative solution using deep reinforcement learning (DRL) to overcome these limitations. By modeling the deployment problem as a Markov decision process, we utilize the DRL's capability to learn optimal policies through iterative trial and error interactions with the environment. Our method adaptively adjusts service function placement in real time, accounting for workload variability, service dependencies, and network conditions. Comprehensive simulations demonstrate that our proposed approach achieves significant improvements in terms of latency reduction, resource utilization, and energy consumption compared to conventional methods, and can provide a new solution for SFC deployment. © 2024 IEEE.
