Based on modeling idea of partial least squares (PLS) and divided the values of response variable into two classes denoted by 0 and 1, a novel classification algorithm of land quality is set up in this paper. Firstly, the algorithms of multiple linear regression (MLR) and principal component regression (PCR) are introduced and analysed their shortages. Then on the basis of modeling idea of PLS, the classification algorithm of land quality is constructed. The experiment shows that the PLS algorithm doesn't request distribution of the data, and has best classification pattern ability compared with the algorithms of MLR and PCR It has more advantages than MLR, PCR, such as simplicity and robustness, clearly qualitative explanation. It is powerful for multicollinearity, particularly when the number of predictor variables is large and the sample size is small, and provides a novel research method for classification of land quality. © 2006 IEEE.

Web services composition techniques are gaining momentum as the opportunity to establish reusable and versatile inter-operability applications. Many researchers propose their composition approach based on planning techniques. We propose our context aware planning method which comprises global planning and local optimization based on context information. The major technical contributions of this paper are: (1) we propose an ontology-based framework for the context-aware composition of Web services. Context model, which are structured based on OWL-S, captures the service-related, environment-related, and user-related context and can be used in an unambiguous, machine interpretable form. (2) We propose context-aware plan architecture and thus is more scalability and flexibility for the planning process, and thereby improving the efficiency and precision. (3) We propose a hybrid approach to build a plan corresponding to a context-aware service composition, based on global planning and local optimization, considering both the usability and adoption. We test our approach on a simple, yet realistic example, and the preliminary results demonstrate that our implementation provides a practical solution

Principal curve pass througli the middle of a multidimensional data set. to express the distributing shape of the points in the data set, we model principal curve for it. The new method of modeling the complex principal curve, based on B-spline network, is proposed. This method combines the polygonal line algorithm of learning principal curve with B-spline network. At one time, the algorithm finding a bifurcate point of the complex principal curve is presented. Our experimental results on simulate data demonstrate that it is feasible and effective.

Gait recognition is used to identify individuals in image sequences by the way they walk. Nearly all of the approaches proposed for gait recognition are 2D methods based on analyzing image sequences captured by a single camera. In this paper, video sequences captured by multiple cameras are used as input, and then a human 3D model is set up. The motion is tracked by applying a local optimization algorithm. The lengths of key segments are extracted as static parameters, and the motion trajectories of lower limbs are used as dynamic features. Finally, linear time normalization is exploited for matching and recognition. The proposed method based on 3D tracking and recognition is robust to the changes of viewpoints. Moreover, better results are achieved for sequences containing difficult surface variations than with 2D methods, which prove the efficiency of our algorithm

An online infomax algorithm is proposed in this paper. The performances and properties of this online algorithm is investigated in detail. To the problem of the artifacts removal in real life EEG signal, both the online-and batch infomax algorithm are applied and compared. The experiment results show that the online infomax algorithm proposed in this paper has the good performance both in artifacts removal and convergence in time-varying mixing system

In this paper, an information pattern recognition method based on fuzzy control is set up. On one hand, the modeling method of fuzzy information classified recognition pattern has been established. On the other hand, the data from Qufu City of Shandong Province during 14 years from 1990 to 2003 is processed and analyzed. The average temperature (℃) and rainfall (mm) in April each year are considered as the input of the system, a number of Aphis gossypii Glover (AGG)occurred for the Cotton in high period are considered as the output, Fuzzy information classified recognition pattern is set up in order to recognize the occurrence degree of the *** results of the returning recognition from 1990 to 2003 and the recognition for 2004 are satisfactory.

Fuzzy information measure is a measure between two pattern vectors in fuzzy circumstance. In this paper, an axiom theory about fuzzy entropy is surveyed, and all kinds of definitions of fuzzy entropy are discussed firstly. And then based on the idea of Shannon information entropy, two concepts of fuzzy joint entropy and fuzzt conditional entropy are proposed and the basic properties of them are given and proved. At last, the classical similarity measures, such as dissimilarity measure (DM) and similarity measure (SM) are studied, and then two new measures, fuzzy absolute information measure (FAIM) and fuzzy relative information measure (FRIM) are set up, which can be a measure between a fuzzy set A and B. So, It provides a new research approach for studies on pattern similarity measure.

Business intelligence (BI) has been viewed as sets of powerful tools and approaches to improving business executive decision-making, business operations, and increasing the value of the enterprise. The technology categories of BI mainly encompass data warehousing, OLAP, and data mining. This article reviews the concept of Business Intelligence and provides a survey, from a comprehensive point of view, on the BI technical framework, process, and enterprise solutions. In addition, the conclusions point out the possible reasons for the difficulties of broad deployment of enterprise BI, and the proposals of constructing a better BI system.

In this paper, an online signature verification scheme based on spectrum analysis and Mahalanobis decision is proposed. We firstly divided signatures to a number of frames with variable widths according to the characteristics of the time sequences, and then employed the fast Fourier transformation (FFT) to extract the spectrum of signatures. The distance between the Fourier coefficient within the corresponding frames is computed, and the Mahalanobis decision making is employed. Experimentation demonstrates that spectrum analysis based on windows with variable widths is effective for online signature signals

Barcode has been widely applied in the modern world. This paper presents a fast and robust recognition method of noisy code 39 barcode. The proposed method can be divided into two steps: search and decoding. In the first step, all asterisks in the image are found with evenly defined scan lines and then those with the same directions are matched together to get a valid barcode region. In the second step, a local denoise method is first applied to eliminate noise in the barcode region and then a middle band filter is used to decode the barcode. Our method is simple in comparison with former methods and experimental results show that it is efficient for fast barcode recognition on noisy images.
