Mass spectrometry serves as a pivotal tool for the analysis of small molecules through an examination of their mass-to-charge ratios. Recent advancements in deep learning have markedly enhanced the analysis of mass spectrometric data, facilitating the prediction of novel small molecule structures without the necessity of extensive databases. Nonetheless, the paucity of annotated datasets impedes the efficacious training of molecular generation models predicated on MS2 spectra. To mitigate this limitation, we introduce ctMSNovelist, an avant-garde method that amalgamates pre-training, fine-tuning, and co-training techniques to construct a more precise model for the generation of molecular structures from tandem mass spectrometry data. This novel approach augments both the training regimen and the predictive accuracy of the MSNovelist model, thereby surmounting the obstacle of limited data. The methodology commences with the pretraining of a Variational Autoencoder (VAE) to generate molecular fingerprints derived from SMILES strings. Subsequently, it undergoes fine-tuning to emulate noisy fingerprints originating from mass spectrometry (MS) data. Concurrently, MSNovelist is co-trained utilizing these simulated fingerprints, inclusive of the highly noisy variants produced in the early stages of VAE training. The incorporation of a substantial volume of noisy data serves to enhance model accuracy and avert overfitting. We evaluated ctMSNovelist using the GNPS dataset and attained a SMILES prediction accuracy of 48.8%, representing a 4.1% enhancement over MSNovelist. It is pertinent to note that the sole distinction between ctMSNovelist and MSNovelist in this experiment was the training process. Supercapacitors(SCs)are widely recognized as excellent clean energy storage *** state of health(SOH)estimation and remaining useful life(RUL)prediction are essential for ensuring their safe and reliable *** paper introduces a novel method for SOH estimation and RUL prediction,based on a hybrid neural network optimized by an improved honey badger algorithm(HBA).The method combines the advantages of convolutional neural network(CNN)and bidirectional long-short-term memory(BiLSTM)neural *** HBA optimizes the hyperparameters of the hybrid neural *** CNN automatically extracts deep features from time series data and reduces dimensionality,which are then used as input for the ***,recurrent dropout is introduced in the recurrent layer to reduce overfitting and facilitate the learning *** approach not only improves the accuracy of estimates and forecasts but also significantly reduces data processing *** under different working conditions are used to validate the proposed *** results show that the proposed hybrid model effectively extracts features,enriches local details,and enhances global perception *** proposed hybrid model outperforms single models,reducing the root mean square error to below 1%,and offers higher prediction accuracy and robustness compared to other methods.

A large number of metaheuristics have been proposed and shown high performance in solving complex optimization problems. While most variation operators in existing metaheuristics are empirically designed,new operators are automatically designed in this work,which are expected to be search space independent and thus exhibit robust performance on different *** work first investigates the influence of translation invariance, scale invariance, and rotation invariance on the search behavior and performance of some representative operators. This work then deduces the generic form of translation, scale, and rotation invariant operators, and proposes a principled approach for the automated design of operators, which searches for high-performance operators based on the deduced generic form. The experimental results demonstrate that the operators generated by the proposed approach outperform state-of-the-art ones on a variety of problems with complex landscapes and up to 1000decision variables.

In L_(3)-valued propositional logic, a multisequent is a triple Δ∣Θ∣Γ, which is true under an assignment if either some formula in Δ has truth-value t, or some formula in Θ has truth-value m, or some formula in Γ has truth-value f. There is a sound, complete and monotonic Gentzen deduction system G for sequents. Dually, there is a sound, complete and nonmonotonic Gentzen deduction system G′ for co-sequents Δ: Θ: Γ. By taking different quantifiers some or every, there are 8 kinds of definitions of validity of multisequent Δ∣Θ∣Γ and 8 kinds of definitions of validity of co-multisequent Δ: Θ: Γ, and correspondingly there are 8 sound and complete Gentzen deduction systems for sequents and 8 sound and complete Gentzen deduction systems for co-sequents. Correspondingly their monotonicity is discussed.

A data representation method using distance correlation

Association in-between features has been demonstrated to improve the representation ability of data. However, the original association data reconstruction method may face two issues: the dimension of reconstructed data is undoubtedly higher than that of original data, and adopted association measure method does not well balance effectiveness and efficiency. To address above two issues, this paper proposes a novel association-based representation improvement method, named as AssoRep. AssoRep first obtains the association between features via distance correlation method that has some advantages than Pearson’s correlation coefficient. Then an improved matrix is formed via stacking the association value of any two features. Next, an improved feature representation is obtained by aggregating the original feature with the enhancement matrix. Finally, the improved feature representation is mapped to a low-dimensional space via principal component analysis. The effectiveness of AssoRep is validated on 120 datasets and the fruits further prefect our previous work on the association data reconstruction.

Joint state-sharing and truncation BCJR for power-efficient coherent optical interconnections utilizing symbol-rate sampling DSP over a hollow-core fiber

Power-efficient digital signal processing (DSP) architectures are indispensable for enabling the sustainable scalability of optical networks in next-generation data center interconnects (DCIs). This paper introduces a minimalist symbol-rate sampling (SRS) DSP framework for coherent optical systems, seamlessly integrated with a hollow-core fiber (HCF) to enable ultra-low-complexity signal processing. The core of this framework is the joint state-sharing and truncation Bahl–Cocke–Jelinek–Raviv (JSST-BCJR) algorithm, which enhances hardware efficiency by eliminating up to 91% of state-space computations, significantly reducing computational complexity while maintaining negligible performance degradation. Experimental validation confirms the feasibility of the proposed minimalist SRS-DSP framework through the successful transmission of a 100-Gbaud 16QAM signal over 20.6 km of HCF. This work underscores the viability of SRS-DSP in power-constrained DCIs and highlights the synergistic integration of low-complexity DSP and HCF, offering a pathway toward power-efficient, high-throughput optical networks. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group. Recently, vision transformer based multimodal learning methods have been proposed to improve the robustness of face anti-spoofing (FAS) systems. However, multimodal face data collected from the real world is often imperfect due to missing modalities from various imaging sensors. Recently, flexible-modal FAS (Yu et al. 2023) has attracted more attention, which aims to develop a unified multimodal FAS model using complete multimodal face data but is insensitive to test-time missing modalities. In this paper, we tackle one main challenge in flexible-modal FAS, i.e., when missing modality occurs either during training or testing in real-world situations. Inspired by the recent success of the prompt learning in language models, we propose Visual Prompt flexible-modal FAS (VP-FAS), which learns the modal-relevant prompts to adapt the frozen pre-trained foundation model to downstream flexible-modal FAS task. Specifically, both vanilla visual prompts and residual contextual prompts are plugged into multimodal transformers to handle general missing-modality cases, while only requiring less than 4% learnable parameters compared to training the entire model. Furthermore, missing-modality regularization is proposed to force models to learn consistent multimodal feature embeddings when missing partial modalities. Extensive experiments conducted on two multimodal FAS benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our VP-FAS framework that improves the performance under various missing-modality cases while alleviating the requirement of heavy model re-training. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Self-Supervised Semantic Segmentation, aiming to leverage masses of unlabeled data for boosting semantic segmentation, has been rapidly emerging as an active task in recent years. However, existing self-supervised semantic segmentation approaches mainly focus on planar images, leaving multiple distorted objects encountered in panoramic images unexplored due to the formidable challenge of handling heterogeneous degrees of distortions across different locations. In this paper, we propose a novel Self-Supervised Panoramic Semantic Segmentation model, termed DASC-SPT, built upon the mainstream contrastive learning framework. Towards distortions in panoramic images, we present two structures to better learn from distorted features by applying planar images. For the input images of self-supervision, we design a Spherical Projection Transformation (SPT) strategy that involves randomly projecting planar images onto various locations of the sphere to introduce the distortions. For pixel-wise distorted features, we construct a Deformation-aware Sampling Consistency (DASC) framework to further utilize the shared content and discrepancies caused by different distortions of paired views, where the deformation-aware consistency can be quantified on pixel-wise features. Both of the two components facilitate the model to adapt to distortions and boost panoramic semantic segmentation. Extensive comprehensive experiments on three panoramic datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of DASC-SPT approach. © 2025 IEEE.
