Transfer learning aims to leverage the knowledge of the source domain to help the learning of unlabeled target domain models. However, all conventional transfer learning methods assume that samples from source and target domains are always freely accessible. However, this assumption is rarely plausible in real-world due to data privacy. To combat this challenge, we introduce Structure-constrain Source Free Domain Adaptation with regularized Knowledge Distillation of source model (SSFDA-KD). Our method is based on the observations that a deterministic classification result can be obtained when the target data distribution aligns with the source data distribution, and a well-trained model not only yields a deterministic classification for a sample but also has clear category boundaries, which implies samples that are close together belong to the same category. From those, we first generate the source model with labeled source data, which is regarded as a well-trained model. Then, we identify target prototypes with lower self-entropy and assign the pseudo-labels to other samples according to the neighborhood structure. Finally, we refine the target model by minimizing prediction loss, constraining internal structure via triplet loss, and reducing knowledge distillation loss. Experiments of fault diagnosis based on WWTPs are conducted to validate its effectiveness.

The explainability of deep neural networks (DNNs) is critical for trust and reliability in AI systems. Path-based attribution methods, such as integrated gradients (IG), aim to explain predictions by accumulating gradients along a path from a baseline to the target image. However, noise accumulated during this process can significantly distort the explanation. While existing methods primarily concentrate on finding alternative paths to circumvent noise, they overlook a critical issue: intermediate-step images frequently diverge from the distribution of training data, further intensifying the impact of noise. This work presents a novel Denoising Diffusion Path (DDPath) to tackle this challenge by harnessing the power of diffusion models for denoising. By exploiting the inherent ability of diffusion models to progressively remove noise from an image, DDPath constructs a piece-wise linear path. Each segment of this path ensures that samples drawn from a Gaussian distribution are centered around the target image. This approach facilitates a gradual reduction of noise along the path. We further demonstrate that DDPath adheres to essential axiomatic properties for attribution methods and can be seamlessly integrated with existing methods such as IG. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that DDPath can significantly reduce noise in the attributions—resulting in clearer explanations—and achieves better quantitative results than traditional path-based methods.

The advent of single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) has facilitated the acquisition of high-resolution data regarding cell heterogeneity across various tissues. A fundamental and critical step in the analysis of scRNA-seq data is cell type identification. An appropriate graph construction strategy can reflect the topological structure between cells and allows for detailed exploration of the relationships between cells and genes. Given the sparsity of scRNA-seq data and the pronounced noise generated by shallow sequencing, choosing an appropriate graph construction strategy has become a significant challenge. In this paper, we propose a single-cell clustering method, named Sc-PNNMF, based on structural perturbation of nonnegative matrix factorization. Sc-PNNMF employs a structural perturbation algorithm to optimize the gene expression matrix. The optimized matrix guides the matrix factorization process, effectively overcoming the impact of data sparsity and significant noise in gene expression data on the graph construction strategy. We compared the clustering abilities of Sc-PNNMF with five other methods on ten real datasets. © 2024 IEEE.

We study an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-enabled uplink heavy non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system in this paper, where the UL communication becomes extremely important in some hot spot areas such as live concerts or soccer stadiums, and investigate the joint optimization of bandwidth assignment (BA) and power allocation (PA) with UAV three-dimensional (3D) trajectory design to maximize the minimum average rate among all ground users, while meeting their heterogeneous rate requirements. More specifically, we propose a joint BA and PA algorithm by revealing that the inter-user interference in each NOMA group can be eliminated naturally while deriving the sum rate of users. The algorithm is proposed to get the optimal BA and PA solutions with the help of closed-form results and ellipsoid method. After that, in order to solve the UAV 3D trajectory design problem we introduce the elevation angle as a supplementary variable, and the successive convex approximation method is adopted to obtain the UAV 3D trajectory. The joint BA and PA algorithm and the UAV 3D trajectory design can be optimized alternatively, which leads to fast convergence and demonstrates a superior minimum average rate among users and user fairness performance over the previous methods.

In recent years,there are numerous studies on chaotic systems with special equilibrium curves having various shapes such as circle,butterfly,heart and *** paper describes a new 3-D chaotic dynamical system with a capsule-shaped equilibrium *** proposed chaotic system has two quadratic,two cubic and two quartic nonlinear *** is noted that the proposed chaotic system has a hidden attractor since it has an infinite number of equilibrium *** is also established that the proposed chaotic system exhibits multi-stability with two coexisting chaotic attractors for the same parameter values but differential initial states.A detailed bifurcation analysis with respect to variations in the system parameters is portrayed for the new chaotic system with capsule equilibrium *** have shown MATLAB plots to illustrate the capsule equilibrium curve,phase orbits of the new chaotic system,bifurcation diagrams and *** an engineering application,we have proposed a speech cryptosystem with a numerical algorithm,which is based on our novel 3-D chaotic system with a capsule-shaped equilibrium *** proposed speech cryptosystem follows its security evolution and implementation on Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)*** results show that the proposed encryption system utilizes 33%of the FPGA,while the maximum clock frequency is 178.28 MHz.

Contemporarily, in light of the intelligent transportation systems (ITS) sector, the tendency can be observed that the solution of the multi-objective cyber-physical optimization problems with imperfect information takes an increasingly weighted role. In the present scientific work, the authors want to take these developments into account by introducing an innovative cyber-physical architectural design and corresponding the two-stage heuristic computing approach. It is utilized in synergy with the MCSA 1 1 Multi-tier Cyber-physical System Architecture and DCEx architectural principles for the workflow scheduling of Monte-Carlo simulation, which is based on the intelligent and sustainable route-order dispatching process model. Factors such as emissions, transport costs, risks, and the individual weighting of orders are reflected in the model. In particular, the authors define a stochastic ILP-based 2 2 Integer Linear Programming monte-carlo workflow model. They further propose two-stage scheduling heuristic with 6-HEFT DAG relaxation as first stage and apply state-of-the-art techniques as a part of SCIP framework to solve 2nd 1–0 ILP-based stage; evaluate the performance of the scheduling approach. The authors obtain preliminary results of the second stage behavior using a realistic heterogeneous computing scenario and corresponding constraint structures within MACS simulator engine 3 3 Modular Architecture for Complex computing Systems Analysis. The results from the experiments illustrate moderate complexity of the approach. Scalability of the model looks promising for the applicability in various industry-related scenarios and corresponding computing environments.

Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) is the stan-dard treatment for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). With the development of artificial intelligence, an increasing number of studies have begun to explore its application in cancer treatment prediction. However, the prior methods exhibit considerable variability even with slight modifications to the input data, which could potentially undermine the reliability of the results. In this paper, we proposed RP-Net, a novel multi-modal fusion-based framework that combines feature information from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and whole slide images (WSI), establishing a relationship to map the therapeutic effectiveness of nCRT for LARC. We investigated the relationship of the tumour region and its periphery tissues, and demonstrated the validity of the proposed framework that involving 11 different combinations of modalities. The experimental results revealed that it has achieved higher prediction accuracy compared to the four intra-categories single-modal combinations and outperformed the two intra-categories multi-modal combinations. When compared to the other four inter-categories multi-modal combinations, the fusion features get accuracy of 2 % ~ 6% improvement respectively.

Attack design is indispensable for analyzing potential risks of networked control systems (NCSs). However, the remote control center is usually well protected and its knowledge is difficult to be disclosed, which becomes a major obstacle in developing stealthy false data injection (FDI) attack scheme because only partial system knowledge (i.e., the system matrices of the physical plant) could be used. To meet this challenge, a novel stealthy FDI attack scheme against the sensor measurement is proposed by employing the normal and compromised self-governed filters held by malicious attackers, where the normal one is adopted to estimate the system state and the compromised one is used as the virtual attacked target. The corresponding attack strategy is obtained by maximizing the estimation error of the compromised self-governed filter. Then, the residual of the compromised system is derived to prove attack stealthiness. Next, it is derived and found that the attack impact on system estimation performance is the same as that based on full system knowledge. Furthermore, the divergence condition of NCSs under the attack is presented. Finally, all the theoretical analyses are verified by simulation results. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Incomplete multi-view clustering (IMVC) is a emerging research topic. Although several attempts to solve IMVC have been proposed, they suffered from the following problems: (1) Most existing methods usually solve the dimensional collapse problem by adding additional projection heads, whereby the latent features are only effective in low-dimensional subspaces. However this approach will increase the complexity of the model. (2) Most existing methods typically use consistent learning and reconstruction learning on the same feature, which can result in irrelevant private information affecting the learning of the common representation. In this paper, a novel incomplete multi-view clustering framework based on direct contrastive learning is proposed to solve the above problems. Specifically, our method prevents dimensionality collapse without adding additional projection heads by utilizing sub-vectors of learned feature vectors for consistency learning. Furthermore, this framework reduces the adverse effects of inconsistent and useless private information by performing reconstruction loss and contrastive loss on the feature vector and its sub-vectors respectively. To handle incomplete data, a cross-view prediction mechanism is adopted to recover missing information. Extensive experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method and obtain significant performance improvements on public datasets.

Feature Selection Based on Consistent Granulation

Classifying large-scale data is a challenging task in machine learning. Feature selection and feature construction can improve the classification performances of classifiers. However, existing feature selections struggle to handle large-scale data. Granulation is the key process for generating accurate and efficient models. In this paper, we propose a novel granulation approach based on rough sets, consistent granulation, and a novel feature construction based on consistent granulation to improve the computation speed, scale, and classification performance of feature selection. As a result, the time and space complexities are reduced to a linear level in terms of sample scales. Moreover, consistent granulation can precisely represent the topological structure of the data and reduce the parameter space from [0, 1] to a finite set lowering the difficulty of optimal parameter searching. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm, FCG, outperforms four classical feature selection algorithms in handling datasets with millions of samples or tens of thousands of dimensions. Additionally, on the first thirteen datasets, FCG reduces the average runtime by 1145.68 times (NARNeMF), 883.11 times (HANDI), 1333.10 times (GBNRS), and 3.73 times (RMDPS), while increasing the average classification accuracy by 2.73% (FARNeMF), 2.30% (HANDI), 4.61% (GBNRS) and 14.33% (RMDPS) compared to these methods. © 2024, The Authors.
