Biomedical relations play an important role in biological processes. In this work, we combine information filtering, grammar parsing and network analysis for gene-disease association extraction. The proposed method first extracts sentences potentially containing information about gene-diseases interactions based on maximum entropy classifier with topic features. And then Probabilistic Context-Free Grammars is applied for gene-disease association extraction. The network of genes and the disease is constituted by the extracted interactions, network centrality metrics are used for calculating the importance of each gene. We used breast cancer as testing disease for system evaluation. The 31 top ranked genes and diseases by the weighted degree, betweenness, and closeness centralities have been checked relevance with breast cancer through NCBI database. The evaluation showed 83.9% accuracy for the testing genes and diseases, 74.2% accuracy for the testing genes. © 2014 Association for Computational Linguistics

The propositional modal logic is obtained by adding the necessity operator to the propositional logic. Each formula in the propositional logic is equivalent to a formula in the disjunctive normal form. In order to obtain the correspondence between the propositional modal logic and the propositional logic, we add the axiom φ ↔ ◊φ to K and get a new system K+. Each formula in such a logic is equivalent to a formula in the disjunctive normal form, where k (k ≥ 0) only occurs before an atomic formula p,and-only occurs before a pseudo-atomic formula of form kp. Maximally consistent sets of K+ have a property holding in the propositional logic: a set of pseudo-atom-complete formulas uniquely determines a maximally consistent set. When a pseudo-atomic formula kpi(k,i ≥ 0) is corresponding to a propositional variable qki, each formula in K+ then can be corresponding to a formula in the propositional logic P +. We can also get the correspondence of models between K+ and P+. Then we get correspondences of theorems and valid formulas between them. So, the soundness theorem and the completeness theorem of K+ follow directly from those of P +. © IFIP International Federation for information Processing 2014.

Smart grid has been widely acknowledged around the world. The rapid development of complex network theory provides a new perception into the research of smart grid. Based on the latest progress in the field of complex network theory, smart grid can be treated as small world networks. This paper examines the tolerance of smart grid against attacks to analyze its vulnerability, and proposes a technique to study the relationship between the electric betweenness and the reliability of smart grid. Based on these researches, the specific concept of vulnerability investigation to indicate smart grid is clarified. Furthermore, the proposed method will be investigated by an IEEE test system in contrast with the result from actual concept in power grid to indicate its effectiveness.

To reduce pre-bond and post-bond test cost for 3D IP (Three Dimensional Intellectual Property) cores, this paper proposed a test wrapper optimization technique using BFD(Best Fit Decreasing) and GA (Genetic Algorithm) algorithm under the constraints of TSVs(Through Silicon Vias) number, the proposed technique firstly used BFD to balance the length of pre-bond wrapper chains to reduce pre-bond test time. Then, on the basis of optimization results of pre-bond wrapper chains, the GA was used to stitch pre-bond wrapper chains to form balanced post-bond wrapper chains under the constrained TSVs number to reduce hardware overhead and post-bond test time. Experimental results demonstrated the presented methodology can effectively reduce hardware overhead at the cost of little increased test time. © 2014 IEEE.

In multi-agent system, agents work together for solving complex tasks and reaching common goals. In this paper, we propose a cognitive model for multi-agent collaboration. Based on the cognitive model, an agent architecture will also be presented. This agent has BDI, awareness and policy driven mechanism concurrently. These approaches are integrated in one agent that will make multi-agent collaboration more practical in the real world.

With the popularity of social media platforms such as Face-book and Twitter, the amount of useful data in these sources is rapidly increasing, making them promising places for information acquisition. This research aims at the customized organization of a social media corpus using focused topic hierarchy. It organizes the contents into different structures to meet with users' different information needs (e.g., "iPhone 5 problem" or "iPhone 5 camera"). To this end, we introduce a novel function to measure the likelihood of a topic hierarchy, by which the users' information need can be incorporated into the process of topic hierarchy construction. Using the structure information within the generated topic hierarchy, we then develop a probability based model to identify the representative contents for topics to assist users in document retrieval on the hierarchy. Experimental results on real world data illustrate the effectiveness of our method and its superiority over state-of-the-art methods for both information organization and retrieval tasks. Influenza is an acute respiratory illness that occurs every year. Detection of Influenza in its earliest stage would reduce the spread of the illness. Sina microblog is a popular microblogging service, provides perfect sources for flu detection due to its real-time nature and large number of users. In this paper we investigate the real-time flu detection problem and describe a Flu model with emotion factors and sematic information (em-flu model). While Kinect was originally designed as a motion sensing input device of the gaming console Microsoft Xbox 360 for gaming purposes, it＇s easy-to-use, low-cost, reliability, speed of the depth measurement and relatively high quality of depth measurement make it can be used for 3D reconstruction. It could make 3D scanning technology more accessible to everyday users and turn 3D reconstruction models into much widely used asset for many applications. In this paper, we focus on Kinect 3D reconstruction.

In this paper, we present a saliency guided image object segment method. We suppose that saliency maps can indicate informative regions, and filter out background in images. To produce perceptual satisfactory salient objects, we use our bio-inspired saliency measure which integrating three factors: dissimilarity, spatial distance and central bias to compute saliency map. Then the saliency map is used as the importance map in the salient object segment method. Experimental results demonstrate that our method outperforms previous saliency detection method, yielding higher precision (0.7669) and better recall rates (0.825), F-Measure (0.7545), when evaluated using one of the largest publicly available data sets. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2014.

With the development of integrated circuit manufacturing technology, low power test has become a focus of concern during testing fields. This paper proposes a new low power BIST (built-in self test) scheme based on block encoding which first exploit a block re-encoding method to optimize the test cube, and then a low power test based on LFSR (linear feedback shift register) reseeding is applied. According to the compatibility of flag, the scheme proposes a grouping algorithm based on flag to divide and reorder the test cubes in the test cube set. Experimental results show that the scheme not only obtain better test compression ratio and test data storage, but also reduce the test power consumption effectively. © 2014 IEEE.
