Scene graph generation (SGG) endeavors to predict visual relationships between pairs of objects within an image. Prevailing SGG methods traditionally assume a one-off learning process for SGG. This conventional paradigm may necessitate repetitive training on all previously observed samples whenever new relationships emerge, mitigating the risk of forgetting previously acquired knowledge. This work seeks to address this pitfall inherent in a suite of prior relationship predictions. Motivated by the achievements of in-context learning in pretrained language models, our approach imbues the model with the capability to predict relationships and continuously acquire novel knowledge without succumbing to catastrophic forgetting. To achieve this goal, we introduce a novel and pragmatic framework for scene graph generation, namely Lifelong Scene Graph Generation (LSGG), where tasks, such as predicates, unfold in a streaming fashion. In this framework, the model is constrained to exclusive training on the present task, devoid of access to previously encountered training data, except for a limited number of exemplars, but the model is tasked with inferring all predicates it has encountered thus far. Towards LSGG, we propose to present visual content as textual representations as the input tokens for a pretrained language model, e.g., GPT-2, and develop a rehearsal strategy via an in-context prompt based on a novel knowledge-aware prompt retrieval mechanism. Rigorous experiments demonstrate the superiority of our proposed method over state-of-the-art SGG models in the context of LSGG across a diverse array of metrics. Besides, extensive experiments on the two mainstream benchmark datasets, VG and Open-Image(v6), show the superiority of our proposed model to a number of competitive SGG models in terms of continuous learning and conventional settings. Granular clustering is an emerging branch in the field of clustering. However, the existing granular clustering algorithms are still immature in terms of weight setting of granular data and noise resistance. In this study, a weighting possibilistic fuzzy c-means algorithm for interval granularity (WPFCM-IG) is proposed. To begin with, a new weight setting method for interval granular data is given. The principle of justifiable granularity is used as the evaluation criterion of granular data, and a weight is assigned to each granular data from two perspectives of coverage and specificity to measure the quality of the granular data. In addition, the idea of possibilistic clustering is introduced, which is helpful to improve the noise resistance. And, with the proposed weights of interval granular data, the influence of data with smaller weights on the clustering results can be reduced during the clustering process. Based upon these ideas, the WPFCM-IG algorithm is put forward, and its core idea, formula derivation and implementation process are described. Finally, the performance of the proposed algorithm is verified by comparison experiments on the artificial and UCI datasets. The experimental results show that the WPFCM-IG algorithm is better than other advanced algorithms in this field in terms of reconstruction error. Next, the WPFCM-IG algorithm is smoother than other algorithms on the collaborative relationship curve between the fuzzy coefficient and the reconstruction error, so WPFCM-IG can better optimize the fuzzy coefficient. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Road obstacle detection is an important problem for vehicle driving safety. In this paper, we aim to obtain robust road obstacle detection based on spatio-temporal context modeling. Firstly, a data-driven spatial context model of the driving scene is constructed with the layouts of the training data. Then, obstacles in the input image are detected via the state-of-the-art object detection algorithms, and the results are combined with the generated scene layout. In addition, to further improve the performance and robustness, temporal information in the image sequence is taken into consideration, and the optical flow is obtained in the vicinity of the detected objects to track the obstacles across neighboring frames. Qualitative and quantitative experiments were conducted on the Small Obstacle Detection (SOD) dataset and the Lost and Found dataset. The results indicate that our method with spatio-temporal context modeling is superior to existing methods for road obstacle detection. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

High-dimensional data poses a great challenge to clustering, and subspace clustering algorithms have unique advantages when working with high-dimensional data. However, there are still some difficulties in adapting the nonlinear feature dimension, the selection and collaborative settings of kernel functions. Therefore, in this study, we come up with a feature reduction-induced subspace multiple kernel fuzzy clustering. Firstly, in order to solve the information loss caused by the nonlinear characteristics of the data, the multiple kernel clustering method is introduced, and some nonlinear features of the data are collaboratively mapped to the high-dimensional linear space, so as to better understand the characteristic information of the data. Secondly, due to the complexity of subspace and multiple kernel learning, we introduce the idea of feature reduction, and reduce the data dimension according to the importance of information, which can reduce the complexity of the algorithm on the one hand, and improve the role of important feature attributes in clustering on the other hand. Finally, the proposed RS-MKFC algorithm and the related 6 algorithms are compared on 6 ordinary datasets and 4 high-dimensional datasets, and it is found that the proposed algorithms are superior over the other 6 algorithms. At the same time, we discover the ability of RS-MKFC algorithm to screen important features as well as the function of feature reduction, and good results are achieved. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

With the increasing sophistication of musical instruments and the importance of precise tuning, a novel and efficient approach to instrument calibration is of significant necessity. This paper presents VGRISys, an innovative system leveraging robotics and artificial intelligence to facilitate the intricate process of instrument tuning. VGRISys incorporates a multi-axis robotic arm, meticulously engineered for fine-tuned physical interaction with various musical instruments, alongside an intelligent system that guides the robotic arm using real-time audio feedback analysis. In addition, it employs advanced signal processing and machine learning algorithms, allowing the system to identify pitch discrepancies and respond with appropriate corrective action. VGRISys remarkably reduces the time required for instrument tuning, thus improving efficiency and democratizing access to high-quality tuning. Furthermore, the system's machine learning capabilities allow it to refine its tuning process over repeated operations, providing a scalable solution to the ever-evolving complexities of instrument tuning. The exploration and development of VGRISys contribute significantly to the wider fields of robotics, artificial intelligence, and music technology. © 2023 IEEE.

Intellectual property transactions have shown a strong growth momentum in recent years, but the patent transaction market has been plagued by the matching degree of consumers and sellers, resulting in frequent problems such as low patent transformation efficiency and poor transaction quality. This paper proposes a method of recommending patents to consumers by experts to improve the environment of patent transactions. Through the analysis of the past transaction information of the patent, the effective path information of the target is extracted. The graph neural network is used to describe the characteristics and semantics among experts, patents and consumers, and then capture the potential weight among them through the common attention mechanism, and then dynamically integrate them to predict the occurrence of recommendation behavior. The paper makes reasonable use of social information and expert information in the transaction, which significantly improves the rationality and accuracy of expert recommendation. © 2023 IEEE.

As the largest source of technical information around the world, patents are regarded as an essential crystallization and carrier of knowledge and technological innovation. Patent transformation is conducive not only to enhancing economic efficiency, but also to improving productivity and the rational utilization of resources. There is an imbalance between high patent ownership and low transformation rates. We try to predict the occurrence of transformation events from the patent assignment. However, there are some challenges in predicting patent transformation: (1) how to capture transformation features of patents, especially combined with the transfer time factor. (2) how to predict patent transfer time effectively. To address these challenges, a Patent Transfer Time Forecasting Model (PTTFM) is proposed. The model includes: (1) extraction of time-varying features of patents. (2) the patent transfer time is forecast using a Neural Temporal Point Process. By testing the model on patents under different classifications, the experimental results are obtained to show that the proposed model is applicable to predict the timing of patent assignment within a certain time frame, especially one month. Our work may facilitate patent transformation while interpretability is ensured for transformation events. © 2023 IEEE.

In this work, high-quality CsPbBr3 and CsPbI3 nanowires were successfully grown on Si substrates via a vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) self-catalyzed growth mechanism using chemical vapor deposition (CVD). The nanowires were characterized by various techniques, including Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Photoluminescence (PL), and Raman spectroscopy. The results demonstrate that the perovskite nanowires grown under the VLS mechanism exhibit strong photoluminescence intensity and excellent crystalline quality. Based on these high-quality nanowires, we further fabricated single-nanowire photodetectors. The CsPbBr3 nanowire photodetector exhibited a high photocurrent to dark current ratio of 4.2×103 and an outstanding responsivity of 1338 A/W. Meanwhile, the CsPbI3 nanowire photodetector also showed a photocurrent to dark current ratio of 10.6 and a responsivity of 991 A/W. These results indicate that perovskite nanowires grown by the VLS growth mechanism hold great promise for applications in photodetection. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Synthesizing Knowledge-enhanced Features for Real-world Zero-shot Food Detection

Food computing brings various perspectives to computer vision like vision-based food analysis for nutrition and health. As a fundamental task in food computing, food detection needs Zero-Shot Detection (ZSD) on novel unseen food objects to support real-world scenarios, such as intelligent kitchens and smart restaurants. Therefore, we first benchmark the task of Zero-Shot Food Detection (ZSFD) by introducing FOWA dataset with rich attribute annotations. Unlike ZSD, fine-grained problems in ZSFD like inter-class similarity make synthesized features inseparable. The complexity of food semantic attributes further makes it more difficult for current ZSD methods to distinguish various food categories. To address these problems, we propose a novel framework ZSFDet to tackle fine-grained problems by exploiting the interaction between complex attributes. Specifically, we model the correlation between food categories and attributes in ZSFDet by multi-source graphs to provide prior knowledge for distinguishing fine-grained features. Within ZSFDet, Knowledge-Enhanced Feature Synthesizer (KEFS) learns knowledge representation from multiple sources (e.g., ingredients correlation from knowledge graph) via the multi-source graph fusion. Conditioned on the fusion of semantic knowledge representation, the region feature diffusion model in KEFS can generate fine-grained features for training the effective zero-shot detector. Extensive evaluations demonstrate the superior performance of our method ZSFDet on FOWA and the widely-used food dataset UECFOOD-256, with significant improvements by 1.8% and 3.7% ZSD mAP compared with the strong baseline RRFS. Further experiments on PASCAL VOC and MS COCO prove that enhancement of the semantic knowledge can also improve the performance on general ZSD. Sign language is commonly used by deaf or speech-impaired people to convey meaning. Sign language recognition (SLR) aims to help users learn and use sign language by recognizing the signs from given videos. Although sign language has gained social acceptance, few sign language recognition systems have been developed with educational purposes. Current SLR system has a single form of expression and lacks real-time interaction and feedback with an expensive cost. And videos captured in real scenes are complex, which has impact on the performance of models. To this end, this paper has proposed a novel real-time multi-terminal sign language recognition system (RMSLRS). Specifically, a lightweight sign language recognition model based on MediaPipe Holistic is proposed to perform sign language inference by sensing multi-dimensional information such as pose, facial expression, and hand tracking, achieving near real-time performance on mobile and desktop devices. Then, a novel pre-processing module is proposed to reduce the adverse effects of background noise in videos through the YOLO model and OpenCv. Furthermore, a novel technical architecture for front-end and back-end separation and multi-terminal deployment is designed, including WeChat applet, desktop application and website.
