The understanding of data is highly relevant to how one senses and perceives them. The existing approaches for classification have been developed mainly based on exploring the intrinsic structure of dataset itself less or no emphasis paid on simulating human visual cognition. A new hyper surface classification method (HSC) has been studied since 2002. HSC is a universal classification method, in which a model of hyper surface is obtained by adoptively dividing the sample space and then the hyper surface is directly used to classify large database based on Jordan curve theorem in topology. In this paper we point out that HSC is a cognitive data visualization method. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method on large test data with complex distribution and high density. In particular, we show that HSC can very often bring a significant reduction of computation effort without loss of prediction capability.

2-D projective moment invariants were firstly proposed by Suk and Flusser in [12]. We point out here that there is a useless projective moment invariant which is equivalent to zero in their paper. 3-D projective moment invariants are generated theoretically by investigating the property of signed volume of a tetrahedron. The main part is the selection of permutation invariant cores for multiple integrals to generate independent and nonzero 3-D projective moment invariants. We give the conclusion that projective moment invariants don't exist strictly speaking because of their convergence problem.

Topic-based language model has attracted much attention as the propounding of semantic retrieval in recent years. Especially for the ASR text with errors, the topic representation is more reasonable than the exact term representation. Among these models, Latent Dirichlet Allocation(LDA) has been noted for its ability to discover the latent topic structure, and is broadly applied in many text-related tasks. But up to now its application in information retrieval(IR) is still limited to be a supplement to the standard document models, and furthermore, it has been pointed out that directly employing the basic LDA model will hurt retrieval performance. In this paper, we propose a lexicon-guided two-level LDA retrieval framework. It uses the HowNet to guide the first-level LDA model's parameter estimation, and further construct the second-level LDA models based on the first-level's inference results. We use TRECID 2005 ASR collection to evaluate it, and compare it with the vector space model(VSM) and latent semantic Indexing(LSI). Our experiments show the proposed method is very competitive.

In inter-picture coding, block-based frequency transform is usually carried out on the predicted errors for each inter-block to remove the spatial correlation among them. However, it can not always do well since the predicted errors in some inter-blocks have marginal or diagonal correlation. A good solution is to omit transform operations for the predicted errors of those inter-blocks with low correlation before quantization operation. The same phenomenon also can be observed in Fine Grain Scalability (FGS) layer coding. In this paper, an adaptive prediction error coding method in spatial and frequency domain with lower complexity is considered for FGS layer coding. Transform operation is only needed when there are non-zero reconstructed coefficients in spatially co-located block in base layer. The experimental results show that compared with FGS coding in JSVM, higher coding efficiency can be achieved with lower computational complexity at decoder since inverse transform is no longer needed for those predicted errors coded in spatial domain at encoder.

A novel Pareto-based multi-objective fully-informed particle swarm algorithm (FIPS) is proposed to solve flexible job-shop problems in this paper. Firstly, the population is ranked based on Pareto optimal concept. And the neighborhood topology used in FIPS is based on the Pareto rank. Secondly, the crowding distance of individuals is computed in the same Pareto level for the secondary rank. Thirdly, addressing the problem of trapping into the local optimal, the mutation operators based on the coding mechanism are introduced into our algorithm. Finally, the performance of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by applying it to several benchmark instances and comparing the experimental results.

Traditional RBAC model describes a static access control policy. As the development of network application, such as Web services, access control faces many new challenges, one of which is that access control policies need to protect not only static resources but also dynamic ones that are encapsulated in a service. In order to capture the flexibility of application, we specify a fine-grained control on individual users by introducing user attributes which are associated to user's role and permission. We take the service as an action that changes some of user's attributes so as to adjust users' permission at run. In order to represent and reason on the access control automatically, we use the description logics combined with prepositional dynamic logic as a logic framework to construct a knowledge base for the access control and action rules, and semantically explain how a user's permission can be changed at runtime.

Due to the increasing software complexity, how to integrate the legacy data resources and systems is a big challenge for the enterprise. This paper makes full use of agent technologies to establish an agent grid intelligent platform for enterprise heterogeneous system integration. The agent grid intelligent platform adopts a hierarchical integration model and middleware to provide efficient integration capability for different application systems. Finally, this paper introduces the grid based city emergency interaction system to illustrate the AGrIP practical system integration.

Due to the existence of a large amount of legacy information systems, how to obtain the information and integrate the legacy systems is becoming more and more concerned. This paper introduces the integration pattern based on agent grid. And we propose an agent grid intelligent platform called AGrIP, which can erase information islands and integrate external systems efficiently by encapsulating the distributed application system to agents. AGrIP adopts distributed hierarchical structure, which is capable of integrating external systems to provide the users various services dynamically. AGrIP has proved itself scalable and efficient during the industry projects development and application.

Fuzzy information measures play an important part in measuring the similarity degree between two pattern vectors in fuzzy circumstance. In this paper, two new fuzzy information measures are set up. Firstly, the classical similarity measures, such as dissimilarity measure (DM) and similarity measure (SM) are studied, an axiom theory about fuzzy entropy is surveyed, and all kinds of definitions of fuzzy entropy are discussed. Secondly, based on the idea of Shannon information entropy, two concepts of fuzzy joint entropy and fuzzy conditional entropy are proposed and the basic properties of them are given and proved. At last, two new measures, fuzzy absolute information measure (FAIM) and fuzzy relative information measure (FRIM), are set up, which can be used to measure the similarity degree between a fuzzy set A and a fuzzy set B. So, It provides a new research approach for studies on pattern similarity measure.
