Diagnosis of compound faults remains a challenge during fault diagnosis of bearings, owing to the different fault parameters coupling, fault characteristics diversity, and the exponential increasement of the number of possible failure modes. Current compound faults diagnostic methods, which are usually based on supervised or semi-supervised learning, require sufficient labeled or unlabeled training data for each compound faults. In industrial scenarios, neither labeled nor unlabeled training data of compound faults are usually difficult to collect and sometimes even inaccessible, whereas single faults samples are easy to obtain. Based on these issues, we construct a novel generative zero-shot learning (ZSL) compound faults diagnosis model identifies unseen compound faults using only single faults samples as training set. This model comprises several modules, namely semantic vector definition, feature extractor, generative adversarial modules. Firstly, we devise a unified semantic vector definition method for expressing single and compound faults based on theoretical correlation of characteristics between single fault and compound faults vibration data. Secondly, a CNN-based feature extractor is designed for extraction the fault features from the time-frequency domain of vibration data. Thirdly, a generative adversarial module performs adversarial training of semantic vectors and fault features of single faults to learn the mapping relationship between the fault features and the fault semantic vectors. Once trained, the generator is able to generate compound fault features using the compound fault semantic vectors, rather than any compound fault samples. Finally, the K-nearest neighbor method is adopted to identify the unseen compound faults by measuring the distance between the extracted feature from the testing compound fault samples and the generated features. The graph with complex annotations is the most potent data type, whose constantly evolving motivates further exploration of the unsupervised dynamic graph representation. One of the representative paradigms is graph contrastive learning. It constructs self-supervised signals by maximizing the mutual information between the statistic graph's augmentation views. However, the semantics and labels may change within the augmentation process, causing a significant performance drop in downstream tasks. This drawback becomes greatly magnified on dynamic graphs. To address this problem, we designed a simple yet effective framework named CLDG. Firstly, we elaborate that dynamic graphs have temporal translation invariance at different levels. Then, we proposed a sampling layer to extract the temporally-persistent signals. It will encourage the node to maintain consistent local and global representations, i.e., temporal translation invariance under the timespan views. The extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the method on seven datasets by outperforming eight unsupervised state-of-the-art baselines and showing competitiveness against four semi-supervised methods. Compared with the existing dynamic graph method, the number of model parameters and training time is reduced by an average of 2,001.86 times and 130.31 times on seven datasets, respectively. Dual-view gaze target estimation in classroom environments has not been thoroughly explored. Existing methods lack consideration of depth information, primarily focusing on 2D image information and neglecting the latent 3D spatial context, which could lead to suboptimal transformation and cause the gaze cone to intersect with an incorrect object. This paper introduces a novel dual-view gaze target estimation method tailored for classroom settings, leveraging depth-enhanced spatial transformations. By formulating a depth-enhanced 2D space, our method uses depth-enhanced spatial transformation to accurately project students' gaze cones to the teacher-oriented image. Additionally, we collected a dataset named DVSGE, specifically for student gaze target estimation in dual-view classroom images. Experimental results demonstrate significant performance improvements of 9.8% in AUC and 19.9% in L2-Distance for our method, surpassing existing methods. © 2025 IEEE.

In wireless networks, utilizing sniffers for fault analysis, traffic traceback, and resource optimization is a crucial task. However, existing centralized algorithms cannot be applied to high-density wireless networks. Therefore, distributed optimization of channel selection to maximize the monitoring rate of sensors in Wireless Monitoring Networks (WMNs) is a challenge. This paper proposes a joint double auction-based distributed channel selection algorithm (J2A-CS) to maximize overall quality of monitoring (QoM). First, sniffers are redundantly deployed in WMNs, and an initial channel allocation strategy is formulated. Subsequently, sniffers collectively act as buyers and sellers at different stages. Finally, buyers bid asynchronously, and sellers settle synchronously to maximize the seller's marginal revenue and update the channel selection scheme. As a distributed channel selection algorithm, J2A-CS addresses the highest overall QoM issue in WMNs, demonstrating high scalability and fault tolerance. Simulation results show that J2A-CS significantly improves QoM compared to existing distributed algorithms and outperforms centralized algorithms in high-density scenarios. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Hospital-acquired pressure injury (HAPI) is a se-rious healthcare problem for intensive care unit (ICU) patients, which significantly affects their quality of life and prognosis, and increases hospitalization time and medical expenses. The current prediction models cannot accurately predict the pressure injury (PI) in ICU wards, as these models usually only predict based on the patient's current physical condition and electronic health record data, resulting in poor recall and precision, which affects the prediction performance. To solve this problem, we applied the multivariate time series data of I CU patients from admission to discharge and established a PI prediction model for ICU patients by utilizing the bidirectional long short-term memory neural network (Bi-LSTM) model. Experiments on the MIMIC-III (Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care) dataset show that the Bi-LSTM model has an F1 score of 0.24 and an AUC (Area Under Curve) value of 0.81, which are better than other models. This validates the effectiveness of the Bi-LSTM on the multivariate time series data to predict the occurrence of PI in ICU wards and assist nursing staff to allocate nursing resources more effectively.

Intrigued by the information management replacing records management phenomenon, this study aimed at shedding light on it. Relying on preserved websites, the study examined relevant contents from 2007 to early 2022. It discovered the battle between records and information, and later on information asset. This battle incurred dazzling changes in managerial considerations, yet the challenges to management – either towards records, information, information and records, or information asset – remained the same. So were the unsatisfactory outcomes. A case seemed perfect to tell the plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose story. AME4163: Principles of engineering Design is a design, build and test course offered at the University of Oklahoma, Norman, USA. Throughout the semester students are expected to reflect on authentic and immersive experiences and write Take-aways and Learning Statements. At the end of the semester each student submits a summative Semester Learning Essay. Between 2019-2021 we collected about 10,000 Take-aways and Learning Statements from the Semester Learning Essays of nearly 400 students. In this paper, we attempt to help instructors gain insight of what students have learned through these materials and thence improve the delivery of the course in the future. We analyze their Take-aways from summative Semester Learning Essays by using dictionary-based sentiment analysis to assess students' subjective feelings toward what they have learned. The results prove that we gain insight into their learning thereby providing instructors with evidence-based guidance on modifying the course from different perspectives. The method proposed is generalizable to courses that involve authentic immersive experiences. © 2023 IEEE.

In the edge-cloud computing, the applications usually are delivered as services, each of which runs independently and can cooperate to construct the complicated applications. However, it is difficult to monitor the services in the decentralized edge-cloud environment since there usually does not exist the central authorization to guarantee trustiness of the service quality data collected. To address the trust issue, the blockchain techniques have been introduced to the service monitoring. Considering the services usually are distributed on the edge nodes, if we deploy only a blockchain on the edge nodes near to the services, it may have to support both the service registration and monitoring because of the loose-coupling principle. That would influence the performance, even would crash the edge nodes. In this paper, we propose a multiple-blockchains based framework, including a registration blockchain that focuses on the service registration and discovery, and a set of monitoring blockchains that focus on the service invocation and monitoring. The registration blockchain is deployed on the cloud nodes, and the monitoring blockchains are deployed on the edge nodes near to the services for collecting efficiently and precisely the service quality data. Based on the cross-chain technology, we design a cross-chain service discovery between the monitoring blockchain and the registration blockchain for finding the services the requesters need. Finally, we implement the registration and monitoring blockchains based on the blockchain platform Cosmos and conduct a set of experiments to show the effectiveness of the proposed framework. © 2021 IEEE.

Nature-inspired population-based stochastic search algorithms (SSA) have demonstrated effectiveness in solving many real-world dynamic optimization problems (DOPs), such as dynamic optimal power flow (DOPF) problems. The basic idea of solving DOPs using SSAs is to 'track the moving optima', rather than solving the changed problems from scratch. Its hidden assumption is that the problems are slightly changed in general, and it is expected that the search process can be accelerated by learning from past search experiences. However, the hidden assumption that the current search process can always benefit from previous search experiences might not be true for certain cases. For example, if the current problem is not similar to any of its previous problems, the historical solutions might not be helpful for the current search. To reduce such negative transfer, the following issues are worthy of study: how to choose which historical problems to learn from, and how to determine the degree of learning from historical problems. To solve the above problems, we propose a dynamic processing framework based on fuzzy rules from the perspective of incorporating human knowledge for optima tracking. The experimental results on the DOPF problems show that the SSA with the proposed optima tracking strategy outperforms other comparative algorithms. Tables, as an important means of data storage, are widely used in spreadsheets, web tables, and PDFs. By integrating information from table data with knowledge re-trieved from an external knowledge base, and examining the correspondences between cell values in the table and instances in the knowledge base, we can extract knowledge from the table to augment and enrich the knowledge base. To achieve this goal, we first need to classify table cells based on their functions in the layout. Due to the diverse structures arising from the arrangements of rows and columns, as well as the complexity of content resulting from concise data storage, current automation techniques heavily rely on stylistic features of table cells, such as font or color. Moreover, these methods are rarely experimented with or validated on tables without style features. Recent literature indicates that large language models (LLMs) demonstrate an ability to understand the structure and content of tables in tasks such as table judgment reasoning. Even without extensive feature inputs or pre-training, LLMs still show comparable results to machine learning and deep learning in these tasks. Therefore, this paper attempts to apply LLMs to table cell classification without using other stylistic features. We have designed a 4-component prompt paradigm (Classification Definition, Instruction, Table, Com-pletion), representing respectively the classification definition, task instructions, table data, and result output. We conduct experiments on three datasets CIUS, SAUS, and DEEX for table cell classification with one-shot learning. Our experimental results show that with the assistance of LLMs, better results can be achieved without utilizing stylistic features.
