Effectively reconstructing 3D hyperspectral images (HSIs) from 2D measurements presents a significant challenge in Coded Aperture Snapshot Spectral Imaging (CASSI) systems. While recent transformers exhibit potential in HSI reconstruction, they often suffer from inadequate exploration of multi-scale spatial-spectral self-similarity, leading to mean effects and information loss. Additionally, these methods struggle with insufficient modeling of the degradation inherent in the compressive imaging process. To address these issues, we propose a novel Mask-guided Multi-scale Spatial-Spectral Transformer (MMSST). Specifically, we introduce a Degradation Aware Mask Attention (DAMA) module to incorporate degradation information of the compressive imaging process. Furthermore, MMSST leverages Local-Regional SpAtial attention (LRSA) and Global-Regional SpEctral attention (GRSE) to effectively exploit multi-scale self-similarity across spatial and spectral dimensions. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our MMSST. © 2025 IEEE.

Companies today face many demands, not only from customers but also from legislative bodies, associations and other stakeholders. Therefore, sustainable transport management and planning that takes into account economic, societal, legal, and environmental concerns is now a key challenge for public transportation agencies, and an important parameter for company’s business continuity. The optimization of the vehicle routes in logistics is a fundamental task for the company in order to reduce the total cost of distribution, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The green vehicle routing problem (GVRP) is an emerging research field that has received recent attention, many researchers have contributed to this emerging research field, studying and analyzing the impact of pollutants—mainly the carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2) resulting from fleet activities on environment, human health and welfare. This study gives a concise assessment of the literature on GVRP and the major variants that have already been discussed in the literature. Additionally, we provide a mathematical representation of the GCVRP and the method used to calculate the CO2 emissions matrix that will be used in future projects. Superconducting Density of States of PtPb4

PtPb4 is a type II superconductor with a bulk critical temperature Tc≈3 K and an upper critical field of Hc2=0.36 T. PtPb4 is related to non-superconducting PtSn4, which presents nodal arc states at the surface. Here, we measure the superconducting density of states of PtPb4 using millikelvin Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM). We observe a fully opened superconducting gap of Δ=0.48 meV similar to expectations from Bardeen, Cooper and Schrieffer (BCS) theory (Δ0=1.76kBTc=0.49 meV). Measurements under magnetic fields applied perpendicular to the surface show a spatially inhomogeneous gap structure, presenting superconducting signatures at fields as high as 1.5 T, significantly above Hc2=0.36 T. On some locations, we find that the superconducting density of states does not vanish above Tc. We can find signatures of a superconducting gap up to 5 K. We discuss possible reasons for the observation of superconducting properties above Tc and Hc2, emphasizing the role played by structural defects. © The Author(s) 2025.

This paper explores the interplay between randomly generated structures, namely set families as well as second-order logic 0-1 laws, in security-related settings. The paper investigates how randomly generated structures can serve as powerful models for representing security properties of complex systems. By examining the 0-1 properties of these structures, conditions are stated which determine the presence or absence of specific security issues. The stated results provide a generic framework for studying insights into the probabilistic behavior of security attributes modeled by set families and mathematical logic with application potential in designing more robust systems. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Stochastic Dynamics and Probability Analysis for a Generalized Epidemic Model with Environmental Noise

In this paper we consider a stochastic SEIQR (susceptible-exposed-infected-quarantined-recovered) epidemic model with a generalized incidence function. Using the Lyapunov method, we establish the existence and uniqueness of a global positive solution to the model, ensuring that it remains well-defined over time. Through the application of Young’s inequality and Chebyshev’s inequality, we demonstrate the concepts of stochastic ultimate boundedness and stochastic permanence, providing insights into the long-term behavior of the epidemic dynamics under random perturbations. Furthermore, we derive conditions for stochastic extinction, which describes scenarios where the epidemic may eventually die out, and V-geometric ergodicity, which indicates the rate at which the system’s state converges to its equilibrium. Finally, we perform numerical simulations to verify our theoretical results and assess the model’s behavior under different parameters. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper we investigate phenomena of emergence of highly organized structures in networks. Our approach is based on Kolmogorov complexity of networks viewed as finite size strings. We apply this approach to study the emergence of simple organized, hierarchical, structures based on Sierpinski Graphs and we prove a Ramsey type theorem that bounds the number of vertices in Kolmogorov random graphs that contain Sierpinski Graphs as subgraphs. Moreover, we show that Sierpinski Graphs encompass close-knit relationships among their vertices that facilitate fast spread and learning of information. In the context of our work we can investigate questions related to the emergence or formation of suitably large groups of malicious individuals in a networks of interacting agents, which are able to take control of the networks. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

AN EFFICIENT SPECTRAL TRUST-REGION DEFLATION METHOD FOR MULTIPLE SOLUTIONS

It is quite common that a nonlinear partial differential equation (PDE) admits multiple distinct solutions and each solution may carry a unique physical meaning. One typical approach for finding multiple solutions is to use the Newton method with different initial guesses that ideally fall into the basins of attraction confining the solutions. In this paper, we propose a fast and accurate numerical method for multiple solutions comprised of three ingredients: (i) a well-designed spectral-Galerkin discretization of the underlying PDE leading to a nonlinear algebraic system (NLAS) with multiple solutions;(ii) an effective deflation technique to eliminate a known (founded) solution from the other unknown solutions leading to deflated NLAS;and (iii) a viable nonlinear least-squares and trust-region (LSTR) method for solving the NLAS and the deflated NLAS to find the multiple solutions sequentially one by one. We demonstrate through ample examples of differential equations and comparison with relevant existing approaches that the spectral LSTR-Deflation method has the merits: (i) it is quite flexible in choosing initial values, even starting from the same initial guess for finding all multiple solutions;(ii) it guarantees high-order accuracy;and (iii) it is quite fast to locate multiple distinct solutions and explore new solutions which are not reported in literature. In this study, we investigate the Shallow Water Equations incorporating source terms accounting for Manning friction and a non-flat bottom topology. Our primary focus is on developing and validating numerical schemes that serve a dual purpose: firstly, preserving all steady states within the model, and secondly, maintaining the late-time asymptotic behavior of solutions, which is governed by a diffusion equation and coincides with a long time and stiff friction limit. Our proposed approach draws inspiration from a penalization technique adopted in [Boscarino et. al, SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2014]. By employing an additive implicit-explicit Runge-Kutta method, the scheme can ensure a correct asymptotic behavior for the limiting diffusion equation, without suffering from a parabolic-type time step restriction which often afflicts multiscale problems in the diffusive limit. Numerical experiments are performed to illustrate high order accuracy, asymptotic preserving, and asymptotically accurate properties of the designed schemes. © 2023, CC BY.
