With the growing computer vision applications, lots of videos are transmitted for content analysis, the way to allocate resources can affect the performance of video content analysis. For this purpose, the traditional resource allocation schemes for video transmission in vehicular networks, such as quality-of-service (QoS) based or quality-of-experience (QoE) based schemes, are no longer optimal anymore. In this paper, we propose an efficient content driven resource allocation scheme for vehicles equipped with cameras under bandwidth constraints in order to improve the video content analysis performance. The proposed resource allocation scheme is based on maximizing the quality-of-content (QoC), which is related to the content analysis performance. A QoC based assessment model is first proposed. Then, the resource allocation problem is converted to a solvable convex optimization problem. Finally, simulation results show the better performance of our proposed scheme than the existing schemes like QoE based schemes. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Mobile crowdsensing (MCS) has appeared as a viable solution for data gathering in Internet of Vehicle (IoV). As it utilizes plenty of mobile users to perform sensing tasks, the cost on sensor deployment can be reduced and the data quality can be improved. However, there exist two main challenges for the IoV-based MCS, which are the privacy issues and the existence of malicious vehicles. In order to solve these two challenges simultaneously, we propose a privacy-protecting reputation management scheme in IoV-based MCS. In particular, our privacy-protecting scheme can execute quickly since its complexity is extremely low. The reputation management scheme considers vehicle's past behaviors and quality of information. In addition, we introduced time fading into the scheme, so that our scheme can detect the malicious vehicles accurately and quickly. Moreover, latency in the IoV must be exceedingly low. With the help of the mobile edge computing (MEC) which is deployed on the base station side and has powerful computing capability, the latency can be greatly reduced to meet the requirements of the IoV. Simulation results demonstrate effectiveness of our reputation management scheme in resisting malicious vehicles, which can assess the reputation value accurately and detect the malicious vehicles quickly while protecting the privacy.

Demand response (DR) is an effective measure to alleviate power demand when power supply shortage or electricity price is too *** customer baseline load (CBL) is the basis to measure load reduction and the amount of compensation to participants,which is of great importance to customers who participate in demand. Based on the comprehensive analysis of the existing research, this paper summarizes the shortcomings of the existing methods, and proposes a CBL prediction method based on confidence value region (CVR). First,the confidence value region is defined,and a similarity clustering method of time series photovoltaic customers based on the overall trend is proposed to exclude the influence of outliers on the classification ***,the prediction method for CBL based on the weight combination of the optimal group members is *** this method, the unpredicted DR customers in the control group are weighted together according to the similarity degree, so as to reduce the prediction time complexity of the model and reduce the adverse impact of abnormal power on the prediction results. Finally, an evaluation index is designed to be more suitable for practical application. Positioning Using Visible Light Communications: A Perspective Arcs Approach

Visible light positioning (VLP) is an accurate indoor positioning technology that uses luminaires as transmitters. In particular, circular luminaires are a common source type for VLP, that are typically treated only as point sources for positioning, while ignoring their geometry characteristics. In this paper, the arc feature of the circular luminaire and the coordinate information obtained via visible light communication (VLC) are jointly used for positioning, and a novel perspective arcs approach is proposed for VLC-enabled indoor positioning. The proposed approach does not rely on any inertial measurement unit and has no tilted angle limitaion at the user. First, a VLC assisted perspective circle and arc algorithm (V-PCA) is proposed for a scenario in which a complete luminaire and an incomplete one can be captured by the user. Based on plane and solid geometry theory, the relationship between the luminaire and the user is exploited to estimate the orientation and the coordinate of the luminaire in the camera coordinate system. Then, the pose and location of the user in the world coordinate system are obtained by single-view geometry theory. Considering the cases in which parts of VLC links are blocked, an anti-occlusion VLC assisted perspective arcs algorithm (OA-V-PA) is proposed. In OA-V-PA, an approximation method is developed to estimate the projection of the luminaire's center on the image and, then, to calculate the pose and location of the user. Simulation results show that the proposed indoor positioning algorithm can achieve a 90th percentile positioning accuracy of around 10 cm. Moreover, an experimental prototype is implemented to verify the feasibility. In the established prototype, a fused image processing method is proposed to simultaneously obtain the VLC information and the geometric information. Experimental results in the established prototype show that the average positioning accuracy is less than 5 cm for different tilted angles of the user.

Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) is considered as an essential basis for autonomous robots and vehicles. Visual SLAM applies visual sensors to collect information and estimate the motion of the sensor in an unknown environment. However, it relies heavily on feature matching within images, so that the quality of the images has a great effect on the efficiency. In a low light intensity environment, the performance of motion estimation declines seriously. This paper presents a global adaptive solution to compensate the light condition and applies this solution to motion estimation in ORB-SLAM as an optimization module. Key of the solution is to obtain global adaptive brightness gain for image intensifiers. The performance of the image intensifier is also evaluated in this paper as well as the proof of higher estimation accuracy. The result of the strengthened ORB- SLAM on the TUM benchmark shows that there is a significant performance boost especially in low luminance environment.

Due to the limited energy of the Internet of Things (IoT) device, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) as a mobile fusion center can effectively prolong the lifetime of IoT device via supporting communication with the device directly. Moreover, since UAV's energy constrained, it will be a good measure to take multiple UAVs to collect data from devices in large areas. In this paper, we investigate multi-UAV collaborative data collection system, where multiple UAVs collect data from two-dimensional distributed devices on flying mode or hovering mode. The objective is to minimize UAVs' total flight time while allowing each device to complete data upload successfully with limited energy. To this end, firstly, a cell partition based on Voronoi diagram is used to allocate the collection areas of each UAV. Then, in each associated area, UAV determines the whole trajectory to serve devices. Lastly, given load requirement of ground devices and energy limitation, the optimal data collection mode of each device is decided to minimize flight time of each UAV. Simulation results show that the proposed multi-UAV data collection scheme can shorten collection task completion time significantly.

MmWave communications have been considered as the key enablers for future mobile cellular networks. The narrow beam communication of the mmWave large-scale antenna system suppresses co-channel interference and has greater potential for parallel communication and spatial multiplexing. Meanwhile, the introduction of multicast via point-to-multipoint communications further improves the spectrum efficiency for mmWave small cells. In order to reduce energy consumption, concurrent transmission and device-to-device (D2D)-enabled multicast has attracted great interests of many researchers, and some heuristic solutions have been provided. In this paper, we propose an optimal D2D-enabled multicast scheduling policy (OSP) aiming to minimize energy consumption in mmWave cellular networks. The optimal scheduling strategy is obtained by formulating the joint optimization of D2D pairing, parallel link selection and time slot allocation into an integer linear program (ILP) problem. Specifically, the concurrent transmissions which globally maximizes the spatial sharing gain while consuming the least energy at each time slot are identified by solving the ILP problem. Extensive simulations results demonstrate that our proposed algorithm reduces energy consumption by more than 18% compared with the baselines in all cases.

In this paper, we investigate a three-dimensions (3D) cellular network that incorporates both unmanned aerial vehicle-base stations (UAV-BSs) and UAV-users (UAV-UEs). In the considered model, UAV-BSs hover in 3D space to serve UAV-UEs that are distributed according to an arbitrary spatial distribution function. We propose an optimal 3D cell partitioning method based on fair resource allocation scheme for which the total amount of data service is maximized. Utilizing the mathematical tool of optimal transport theory, the cell partitioning problem can be modeled as a semi-discrete optimal transport problem which is easy to be solved. To this end, we apply steepest-ascent search algorithm to solve the 3D cell partition optimization problem simplified by the optimal transport theory. The simulation results show that fairness of the proposed cell partitioning algorithm is higher than max-SINR algorithm, and it also guarantees the amount of system data service.
