Contour extraction model introducing contrast adaptive characteristics based on visual pathway

Effectively extracting image subject contours holds significant importance for subsequent image processing tasks. Recognizing the pivotal role of contrast features in contour characterization, this paper proposes a novel contour extraction model with contrast adaptive characteristics, inspired by visual perception simulation visual pathways. Firstly, leveraging the color antagonism traits of retinal ganglion cells, we construct a color image contrast calculation model to enhance the representation of visual information contrast. Furthermore, drawing upon the feed-forward impact of the retina on Lateral Geniculate Nucleus (LGN) cells, we introduce a contrast gain control mechanism to extract multi-directional primary contour responses. Secondly, employing the LIF neuron network to simulate the lateral geniculate body's information flow processing mechanism, we encode visual information via pulse firing to eliminate redundant contour details. Then, by considering the primary visual cortex (V1) cell's receptive field size variation with contrast, we devise a contrast-adaptive dynamic receptive field model. Additionally, we develop a texture suppression model based on the orientation/contrast disparity between the receptive field model's center and periphery. Finally, integrating the primary contour response and the image obtained through the inhibition model, we fuse features to derive the final image subject target contour. This study employs the BSDS500 dataset and the RuG40 dataset for experimentation. Comparative analysis against mainstream methods demonstrates our approach's superior ability to retain the main image outline while suppressing non-edge textures, with P-value indicators for contour detection of 0.58 and 0.50, respectively. A cross-domain person re-identification algorithm based on distribution-consistency and multi-label collaborative learning

To decrease domain shift in cross-domain person re-identification, existing methods generate pseudo labels for training models, however, the inherent distribution between source domain data and the hard quantization loss is ignored. Therefore, a cross-domain person re-identification method based on distribution consistency and multi-label collaborative learning is proposed. Firstly, a soft binary cross-entropy loss function is constructed to constrain the inter-sample relationship of cross-domain transformation, which can ensure the consistency of appearance features and sample distribution, and achieving feature cross-domain alignment. On this basis, in order to suppress the noise of hard pseudo labels, a multi-label collaborative learning network is constructed. The soft pseudo labels are generated by using the collaborative foreground features and global features to guide the network training, making the model adapt to the target domain. Beyond extreme ultraviolet(BEUV)radiation with a wavelength of 6.x nm for lithography is responsible for reducing the source wavelength to enable continued miniaturization of semiconductor *** this work,the Required BEUV light at 6.x nm wavelength was generated in dense and hot Nd:YAG laser-produced Er *** spectral contributions from the 4p–4d and 4d–4f transitions of singly,doubly and triply excited states of Er XXIV–Er XXXII in the BEUV band were calculated using Cowan and the Flexible Atomic *** was also found that the radiative transitions between multiply excited states dominate the narrow wavelength window around 6.x *** the assumption of collisional radiative equilibrium of the laser-produced Er plasmas,the relative ion abundance in the experiment was *** the Boltzmann quantum state energy level distribution and Gram–Charlier fitting function of unresolved transition arrays(UTAs),the synthetic spectrum around 6.x nm was finally obtained and compared with the experimental *** spatio-temporal distributions of electron density and electron temperature were calculated based on radiation hydrodynamic simulation in order to identify the contributions of various ionic states to the UTAs arising from the Er plasmas near 6.x nm.

Labeled Multi-Bernoulli Maneuvering Target Tracking Algorithm via TSK Iterative Regression Model

Aiming at the problem that the existing labeled multi-Bernoulli(LMB) method has a single and fixed model set, an LMB maneuvering target tracking algorithm via Takagi-Sugeno-Kang(TSK) iterative regression multiple model is proposed. In the TSK iterative regression modeling, the feature information of the targets is analyzed and represented by multiple semantic fuzzy sets. Then the state is expanded to introduce model information, thereby the adaptive multi-model idea is incorporated into the framework of the LMB method to solve the uncertain maneuverability of moving targets. Finally,the simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively achieve maneuvering target tracking in the nonlinear system.

Cervical cytologic screening is clinically important for the prevention and diagnosis of cervical cancer. Aiming at the many challenges in the detection of abnormal cervical cells, including the difficult detection of small targets of abnormal cervical cells, complex backgrounds, and uneven cell morphology, a detection algorithm for abnormal cervical cells based on improved YOLOv7 was proposed. The algorithm utilizes Deformable Convolutional Networks v2 (DCNv2) that adaptively de-tunes the scale and receptive field size to more effectively cope with the complexity and diversity of cervical cell images. The experimental results show that the improved YOLOv7 algorithm mAP achieves 57.26%, up to 73.88% accuracy, and 46.90% recall on the cervical abnormal cell dataset. Compared with the benchmark model, they increased by 4.07%, 3.39%, and 5.69%, respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

Recently, vision transformer based multimodal learning methods have been proposed to improve the robustness of face anti-spoofing (FAS) systems. However, multimodal face data collected from the real world is often imperfect due to missing modalities from various imaging sensors. Recently, flexible-modal FAS (Yu et al. 2023) has attracted more attention, which aims to develop a unified multimodal FAS model using complete multimodal face data but is insensitive to test-time missing modalities. In this paper, we tackle one main challenge in flexible-modal FAS, i.e., when missing modality occurs either during training or testing in real-world situations. Inspired by the recent success of the prompt learning in language models, we propose Visual Prompt flexible-modal FAS (VP-FAS), which learns the modal-relevant prompts to adapt the frozen pre-trained foundation model to downstream flexible-modal FAS task. Specifically, both vanilla visual prompts and residual contextual prompts are plugged into multimodal transformers to handle general missing-modality cases, while only requiring less than 4% learnable parameters compared to training the entire model. Furthermore, missing-modality regularization is proposed to force models to learn consistent multimodal feature embeddings when missing partial modalities. Extensive experiments conducted on two multimodal FAS benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our VP-FAS framework that improves the performance under various missing-modality cases while alleviating the requirement of heavy model re-training. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Producing traversability maps and understanding the surroundings are crucial prerequisites for autonomous navigation. In this paper, we address the problem of traversability assessment using point clouds. We propose a novel pillar feature extraction module that utilizes PointNet to capture features from point clouds organized in vertical volume and a 2D encoder-decoder structure to conduct traversability classification instead of the widely used 3D convolutions. This results in less computational cost while even better performance is achieved at the same time. We then propose a new spatio-temporal attention module to fuse multi-frame information, which can properly handle the varying density problem of LIDAR point clouds, and this makes our module able to assess distant areas more accurately. Comprehensive experimental results on augmented Semantic KITTI and RELLIS-3D datasets show that our method is able to achieve superior performance over existing approaches both quantitatively and quantitatively.
